Well that doesn't make any sense at all. I would not want a coach that doesn't think his scheme is better for the team. |

He's the coach. Whether the fan base, media, or ALMOST anybody else agree's or not...........THAT is what he gets paid to do. Do that Coaching shit...make coaching decisions. Right or wrong....popular or un-popular. At some point in time his boss (and hopefully he has more patience and foresight than the idiotic fan base) will decide if he has been successful enough and won enough games to continue..... |

You value everyone's opinions, you listen to their suggestions, and you work to make sure everyone is satisfied...but you're the leader of your team. Sometimes you need to just take charge and say 'this is my idea, and this is how I want it done' If it fails, it fails and you move on but you're going to be held accountable either way so take charge from the start." And I said "Thanks Matty" |

Re: Rifts between Shanahan and Snyder?
Anyone who thinks the change to the 3-4 was just too painful without the right players is a moron.
The 3-4 is the defense of Champions in today's NFL. Anyone who thinks Shanahan was too hard on AH needs to be punched in the nuts because you are a clown. That is all. |

It was a little hard to watch this year at times i.e. the second eagles game but we held Packers, jags, and bears all to under 20 points running this scheme with members who never ran it before and were misplaced inside of it and w/o our best DL man. And Speaking of Haynesworth, I think Shannahan set a tone with him, used him as an example to the team and Snyder. To the team, he set the tone that he was in charge and no one was bigger than the team. To Snyder he used haynesworth as an example that paying big money to a big play maker who isn't a team player isn't always the answer, and maybe, MAYBE Snyder will finally get it. He somewhat discredited himself with getting McNabb who was one of the big name pick ups in the off-season, but at least he was a team player even in the worsre of situations. |

I've heard there is two ways of thinking; 1- is the team slowly transitions to whatever scheme the HC is looking to run, which might work or it might not. Or 2- go all in and hope it works out. This method usually brings the learning curve across better and faster. I'm guessing this was the train of thought and with the thought AH would return and dominate the middle of the defense. Instead we got a disgruntled player acting like a little leager throwing a tantrum and refusing to participate. I'm also hedging a bet that they thought Kemo would be better then he was. But at this point they were already all in. Haslett said to the media it took the Steelers about 3 yrs to be dominant after switching from the 4-3 to the 3-4. Next year the defense will be better with a few key pick ups and then yr 3 ..... SB. Plus don't think for a moment Haslett didn't tell MS this very thing. Coaches are meticulous so I'm sure they talked about it and decided the path they took. |

Wait till Matty finds out you think he's dead (I actually did get that review) |

Re: Rifts between Shanahan and Snyder?
I know a lot of people didn't like the change to the 3-4; and nobody liked the results to be sure.
But if it was going to happen, aren't we glad they did it THIS season rather than wait until year two or later? Unless you're aceinthehouse, you had to know this wasn't going to be a playoff season anyhow. |

Although I wish that we had stuck to the 4-3, if we were going to change, this was the year to do it. Rip off the bandaid of transition. Now we go into next year with both an offense and a defense which are familiar to players. |
