I am about to do the same! I was thinking about the Galaxy S III, which is cheaper, but after seeing the Note 2, I might be changing my mind!

It's not the size of a tablet, but it is larger than most smart phones. A co-worker had just bought one and I was looking at it. It's nice!

I'm also looking to go from a flip phone with nothing to something new. I don't want anything too big or expensive but just a good phone that has internet access and a few bells and whistles.

Samsung Galaxy S III. It's supposed to be tops in terms of Android phones, and depending upon the carrier, you can get it under $200 with a 2-year contract.
