Re: Washington Post: Redskins Training Camp Observations
Personally I like the idea of the option, draw, and other designed running play, used in moderation. The threat that Gryphon might run, beyond just ordinary scrambling, is a weapon in its own right and can be used to open up the passing game. A linebacker, safety, or cornerback who has to worry about Gryphon keeping will be distracted from passing game responsibilities. So I think Gryphon should run in an intentional way more than most other QB's.

However, I agree with you about the specter of injury. So if Gryphon runs just enough to establish the threat and keep defenses honest, that will be good enough for me.
Agree 100%. He have to make sure DF's are aware of the threat that's the only way they will stay honest. He's FAST.

That's pretty crappy they wouldn't even notify the coaching staff.

So ends the pointless career of Kentwan Balmer...

If he hadn't pulled this stunt with the 49ers, I'd be concerned.

What a waste. He treats playing in the NFL like it's nothing.

He's done it before to the 9ers. Hell, James Davis did the same thing to us last year too. We're 2 for 2 so far. Wonder how long the streak goes on for...

Who's they?

Not that it matters, sounds like Kentwan Balmer just gave up. Pretty shitty of him to not let his coaches know though.

You know what, if Kentwan Balmer leaving our team is our biggest problem, then we're in good shape. None of this Haynesworth crap, or McNabb not starting.

Maybe Petrino at U. of Arkansas will make room for him :)

Or people speculating that Colt Brennan was going to be our quarterback of the future, i'm so glad we're past that. :)
