The coaching staff can't even get D. Hall to shut up, how are they going to keep Talib from staying out of trouble? |

I think its a strong possibility if Morris is here and Talib stays out of trouble this year. He's got talent and we need a CB bad. |

I was being funny but also serious. Im agreeing with Chico. If talib stays out of trouble and has a productive year than we will move on him. If he doesnt they wont. As of rite now it isnt our coaching staffs job to keep him in line. He will have to prove he can do that first. Oh and dont underestimate the difficulty of keeping halls mouth shut! |
Re: Secondary a Primary Concern
If Cedric Griffin doesn't have a strong game against either the Colts or the Bucs, he will definitely be cut. Tanard Jackson has the ability to be a decent safety. He should be better than what Atogwe or Landry was.

Re: Secondary a Primary Concern
Not a chance Jackson is better than OJ or LaRon. He can't tackle.

Re: Secondary a Primary Concern
I just hope we get lucky with a couple of these secondary players. Merriweather, Madieu, Jackson, C.Griff, etc.... Just hope one or two stick. It's only preseason game 3, and so I'm reserving judgement.
Otherwise, it will be hard to address all of the secondary concerns in the draft next year when we already need: LB, CB/safety, O-line (RT), etc... With another $18 mill penalty, hard to imagine we could sign a ton of talent all to back loaded contracts. |
Re: Secondary a Primary Concern
What would be even better is if Crawford developed into the starter opposite Wilson. Draft another qualify prospect next year (after a right tackle).
Speaking of right tackles Massie didn't look good tonight. Big and slow. |

Lol I mean he gets benched by most of u and who replaces him?? Wilson isn't better, Buchanan wasn't better, God knows Barnes isn't better. Give the guy some props, he's actually pretty good IMO hell at least he can catch |
He is our best corner - but - that aint sayin much and at the end of the day it just aint good enough. He catches all the hell from everyone because he runs his mouth. You know he does.

I don't fanatically hate on D. Hall like some people, but I think he is at best a 2nd or nickel corner.
As it always happens, people love to harp on just one guy. But our secondary as a whole is very mediocre. Hall may be the best of them, but that is not saying much. And saying that he is the worst is pretty stupid. Personally I thought that last season the coaching staff was pretty aggressive and put a lot on a mediocre secondary. Hopefully that doesnt happen again but who knows. The Skins need to either get lucky in drafting a starting corner or acquire one free agency (and not a headcase like Aquib). Also we need to see what happens with the safety position, which has been an issue ever since Sean Taylor's passing. Sent from my Samsung Galaxy SIII using Tapatalk 2. |

I would say we all agree to your last point.

Hall can be a game-changer, but in both directions. When he whiffs it often results in an opposing TD or big gain. I honestly think for his reward/risk ratio to be positive he has to create at least one turnover every game. |

Because of our poor offense, the Redskins have typically not being able to take advantage of turnovers. However, you are correct...when Hall whiffs, he whiffs big time. And he also can't tackle, yet somehow he ends up 2nd or 3rd in team tackles (at least way back). |

Yes, D.Hall is the equivalent of Sexy Rexy. If he can keep making interceptions / good plays, he's worth it. Once Hall stops getting the interceptions, it becomes painful to watch. I'm hoping this year he can recreate himself in the secondary. |
Re: Secondary a Primary Concern
Wilson hands down is out best corner. As for DHall? I just want the guy to play ball. Quit starting shit on the field cause you can't back it up w/ your play. He can't tackle or cover but he's got great ball skills. I think DHall would've been a great wr. He never even should have tried to be a DB. But the coaches need to help him out and not leave him one on one with guys like Dez Bryant.
