Well, I think you have to look at it as leverage against Kerrigan/Orakpo contracts next year. Could be good long term thinking.

Way too small to be a DE IMO. I think the idea is that Rak or Kerrigan is gone after this season and Murphy is the replacement. In the meantime he can be a situational pass rusher as a rookie.

Methinks that our plan is to pick up Mewort in the third to solve our tackle situation.
