$27M/year[/quote] Wow. Don't want to change the subject, but man that feels like we are screwed with Cousins. |

Pretty much means we aren't signing Cousins. No way Bruce/Dan going to give him 93mil guaranteed and 27mil/year. |

I would lean this way...in fact this was probably the plan all along. They aren't dumb and they know which QB contracts were coming up so the way Cousins has used the tag to his advantage, the Skins will use these type of contracts to say to the fans, "is he seriously worth this?" Cousins needs to get to the playoffs and get a win in the playoffs to get paid by us...that's the bottom bar. Unless he completely shits the bed this year where he may take a much lesser offer. |
Re: Around the NFL (Preseason edition)
Cousins is one and done here..let somebody else overpay

Re: Around the NFL (Preseason edition)
KCs contract is in his hands. A superb season and DS will pay the rate, 1 and out in the playoffs and he will get his payout somewhere else

One of what? This is his 5th or 6th year on the team... He's started before...so, not that. He's on his second franchise tag, So that's out as well. Im scratching my head....1 and done of what? A baby? I think he's about to have his first. But I think you may have missed the overall point of the article. Market value for qbs continues to be driven up. It's not overpaying if that's what the general market value is for qbs. Especially with cap increases every year. |
Around the NFL (Preseason edition)
You either have a QB and you pay him or you're looking for one to pay. This silliness about not wanting to pay a QB market value is beyond silly.

Re: Around the NFL (Preseason edition)
Stafford proved last yr that he's a top 15 QB in the NFL. Those guys dont fall off trees. Kirk will once again have another good yr and he'll get his $ from us or whoever next yr.

Detroit is my sleeper team this year. I think their gonna be good. |

Per Jay via Mike Jones Twitter:
Speaking Tuesday, Redskins coach Jay Gruden admitted Josh Doctson's continued missed time is a concern, and that the second-year pro "hasn't done a lot for us." "We've only had him a year and he hasn't done a lot for us," was Gruden's exact quote. no good. |

I think we give Doctson 3 years, if he's still not playing through fluky injuries by the end of next year they'll cut him. |

I doubt he gets that long. If this year is a bust and he's hurt in training camp next year, I doubt he's around. They will conclude that he is Malcom Kelly Part II and move on. I hope it doesn't happen. Would love to see this kid crush it. With the injury history, it would seem like he's coming out of nowhere. |
