Re: Looking at the draft.
If Cousins leaves, QB would be our 1st need. If Cousins stays, I go pass rusher or ILB to complement Brown, a stud DL would also work.

Re: Looking at the draft.
I'm taking Guice or Barkley in the first. I'd also consider Derwin James.

Derwin James would be extremely tough to pass on.... |
Let him walk. Especially if Ryan Jenson becomes a free agent from Baltimore.
Coming off knee surgery this year he should be really cheap. I predict he is on the roster and probably a starter. He will be too cheap to pass up basically and is far from a standout but is a smart consistent player. |

Our Safeties were pretty good this yr, even Everett was solid, I'd take James but not before Barkley, he's a difference maker at a pos we really need one to be. |

I'm not impressed with this year's QB draft class, so I'd prefer to go with a FA QB or trade for one if Cousins leaves. I think we should probably draft a QB in one of the later rounds. |
Re: Looking at the draft.
Really good crop of RB coming out this year. Lotta potential ballers in the first several rounds. Id really like to see us use a first or second on one.

Re: Looking at the draft.
Is it just me or is this draft very top-heavy? I admit that didn't watch much college football this past season. It just seems that this might be one of those drafts where trading up in the early rounds might be the thing to do if there is a player the Skins really like on the board.

Re: Looking at the draft.
Baker Mayfield.
Perfect fit for Jay's offense. Start Colt until Colt plays himself back to the bench then put in the kid. |

IMO, Cousins seems to fit Jay, and Bakers game reminds me of Cousins. Cousins doesn't get the credit he deserves of being tough and being an athlete...both Baker traits. Cousins is an above average runner with the ball as well. I actually see a lot of Baker in Cousins game. With Baker what it will come down too is accuracy and handling pressure. When Georgia turned the pressure up on Baker in the second half...it affected him. Baker faced cupped cake defenses in big 12. I think Cousins does well with pressure in his face...again above average talent with handling that aspect of the game. Baker is accurate, so is Cousins. Cousins is good when it comes to accuracy. Will Baker be with windows in the NFL vs windows in a poor defense big 12? So, if Cousins is a proven Baker, why take the risk? Just pay the dude. |

Grudens system requires a disciplined QB that reads progressions and i credit a lot of Mayfields success to his supporting cast members. Mayfield does have the ability to work off script, but he has a weak arm and his long ball is suspect. Lets also talk about his antics and who knows how much willingness he has to be tamed, disciplined and developed into a pro ready QB? i think Allen- would be the perfect QB for gruden to teach and mold. not saying he will be there at 13...but i think he would be perfect |
Re: Looking at the draft.
Mayfield is not going to be at 13.
