the problem is a the severed artery is huge.
The amount of blood loss from that would be tremendous.
The fact that he survived surgury is almost a miracle....so lets not think about football.
Right now we should be concerned that the oxygen flow from blood continued long enough so there was no irreperable damage.

This is a very dangerous situation....even after surgury.
Please....dont mention him playing again until we know he will live.
Please pray for Sean and his family...

There is power in prayer.

I can't imagine a worse situation. A young father who turned his life around gets shot in his home in the middle of the night and has one of the most important body parts severed!!!! severed. I hope the doctors brought their A game, because that will be the deciding factor in Taylors life. How terrible.

I find myself fighting back tears every time I start to post on this thread. When I think of how much this team loves this guy, how much he's matured, how bright his star was shining on the field this year, the fact that he's 24 years old and is a new father, and how much adversity this team has been through this season... When I think of his infant child and all of our Redskins huddled around in prayer... Come on Sean. Fight.

In Ashburn, Va., Redskins owner Dan Snyder said he was headed to Miami on his private plane, joined by running back Clinton Portis, vice president of football operations Vinny Cerrato and trainer Bubba Tyer.

Miami-Dade police say they've found no evidence of a robbery being the motive in Sean Taylor's Sunday night shooting.

The Miami Herald reported Monday that Taylor's girlfriend heard an intruder at the rear of his house and called police. When Taylor went to check on the situation, he was allegedly shot. Taylor is currently believed to be in a coma.
Hey guys I know I've been off for a while now, didn't even had time to come for our annual week match up to do some feedback, but I had to take some time with the news I read today.

My prayers are with Taylor and his family I know the scenario doesn't look good but he's one of the toughest individuals I've ever seen, if someone can pull it off he can, I will be coming back to see any development. it's really a sad news to a great individual.
I have seen numerous posts from Cowboy fans wishing ST the best. Out of curiousity, I hit an Eagles board. It was below worthless. The majority of posters wished him a crippling injury "couldn't happen to a nicer guy" was one post. Death wishes were many and in no way the exception. I was tempted to post but I figured - why bother.

To our opponents who wish this young man and young father well - thanks. To the rest, may karma come and bite you on the ass.

And, of course, to ST, his family and particular his child - my prayers and thoughts.

I can't do anything at work right now. My bosses are going to be pissed, but I just can't think. I feel like a close relative was shot. When I read that he flatlined 3 times during surgery my heart sank and I felt like I had been shot. This is just tragic.

Out of Surgery-"in better shape"

From the Miami Herald:
At least one armed intruder had broken into the $900,000 Palmetto Bay house of the star NFL player and were at his bedroom door. Taylor rose from bed to investigate, and just outside his bedroom, was shot in the groin and critically wounded. He collapsed back into the room, where he breathed heavily as blood gushed from his wound, according to Taylor's lawyer and family friend, Richard Sharpstein....Sharpstein said Taylor, 24, emerged from surgery in better shape and will likely live. He is in intensive care and doctors have allowed his family to see him.
Thanks for the update. Now is a time to just pray for Taylor, but now that I hear that he is getting better I am starting to be filled with rage. I hate to admit it, as all we should care about is ST getting better, but I want to see the cowards carrying those guns found in a dumpster somewhere.

I was in Secret Service HQ the day Reagan was shot, and will never forget the wrong reporting that went on that day.

I was hesitant to post this, but did because it named the source and the source would be in a position to know.

Be careful of everything you hear for the next 24 hours.

I have not had time to read/listen to internet and talk show hosts comments, but it seems like some reporters were questioning why Taylor was not traveling with the team. These reporters should do a little more research before making comments as Jason LaConfora made a great point on his insider:

"Now, part of the reason why those injured players are not traveling with the team is to avoid excess travel. No sense constricting legs and ankles and risking swelling to these kind of ligament strains in the air. "

I went and tried to get on some Eagles sites after you post and it is truly incredible. I am speechless. I guess I shouldn't be surprised since I have seen similar ignorant statements on WashingtonPost.com and even TripleX Radio. I am shocked by the level of discussion. I simply cannot understand wishing death on another human being, or saying "they got what was coming to them." Do these people know Sean Taylor? Have they seen an interview with him? I am continually appalled by Eagles fans, their treatment of their own team, their venom and ignorance to opposing players, and now even their flip statements about the life or death of another person. I am floored. I know some decent Eagles fans (two actually) but clearly the majority of these individuals are truly worthless individuals. What is it about that city?

Re: Sean Taylor Shot in the Thigh: CNN News

Comcast is reporting:

He's in the hospital... still in critical condition. In the ICU, his family is being allowed to see him at this point.

According to Richard Sharpstein, ST's Lawyer... It was a break-in.. He was with his GF and his baby. He got up, grabbed a machete, shots were fired in his living room. Two shots were fired. One missed, one severed his femoral artery. The injury is very very bad. His life is still in danger. Doctors are concerned that there could be brain damage. He's still unconscious.

This is the latest from his attorney.

Based on his previous posts, I believe D'Boys was applauding the apparent and preliminary reports that ST was stabilizing and doing better. He has been classy and concerned and, IMHO, his kind of fan should always be welcomed.
