hamilton and horton have a shot to make the team
Hamilton will make 53 iyam
After Smoot, Springs, Rogers and Landry, the secondary is wide open for the taking -- except Tryon of course.

Personally, I'm rooting for Kareem Moore and Chris Horton.

mcmullen drew a penalty...thats a veteran move...I think this guy has a 75% chance of making the squad

I think either Tryon or Brooks needs to make roster (if not both) to give this draft anywhere near an A. Those were arguably the two most scrutinized picks and at least one needs to make it to justify drafting them, I think.

Re: Redskins vs. Jaguars Thread

hmmm what play do we have for 2d and 26 run up the middle?

Beemnseven 08-28-2008 08:48 PM

Re: Redskins vs. Jaguars Thread

lot of underneath throws

add a def personal foul 15yard penalty that helps us

At this point Id argue Devin Thomas is a disappointing pick..he is sucking up a roster space doing nothing...I am not suggesting cutting him but...man, he is being way outperformed by mcmullen and even mann

we should go for it on 4th

Beemnseven 08-28-2008 08:50 PM

Just give Thomas some time. Sooner or later he's going to get it going and knock our socks off.

I am really hating Zorn's playcalling this game.

Warpath 08-28-2008 08:53 PM

Re: Redskins vs. Jaguars Thread

Madden said "Thats 2 plays I dont like throwing on 3rd and not getting past the sticks and then on 4th handing it to the up guy" Actually there Madden they ran on both 3rd and 4th. Thanks for paying attention...

Agreed. I think Kelly is more likely to have an impact now, but Thomas will be fine.

Beemnseven 08-28-2008 08:54 PM

Re: Redskins vs. Jaguars Thread

Looked like Zorn was yelling something -- maybe a busted play?

You have to get a look at your short yardage blocking. Remember, the object is to see players in specific situations.

skinsnut 08-28-2008 08:54 PM

Re: Redskins vs. Jaguars Thread

zorn needs to learn how to run short yardage, the guy is obvioulsy QB pass happy.
This is a run based squad, I hope he learns to lean on our strengths soon..unfortunately I think his lack of run calls has underminded the confience of the offense the last 2 weeks.

Id love a return to 65% run calling to shove the ball down the throats of our competion.
He doesnt seem to know how good we are at running the ball...Buges should tell him soon

Beemnseven 08-28-2008 08:55 PM

Re: Redskins vs. Jaguars Thread

Awful, open field miss by Chris Horton.

skinsnut 08-28-2008 08:55 PM

Re: Redskins vs. Jaguars Thread

horton did not wrap up on that major run called back and tryon couldn't catch him...Id argue they need to be practice squad guys now...we need to pick up depth in cuts to replace them

The play came back but Horton just got ran over

Tryon needs to make the roster? to make this draft an A? Well I rather take a B- minues and minus this bum from the team. I rather see Brooks make it. Tryon is out of the question.

Re: Redskins vs. Jaguars Thread

they gave mason a couple 3rd and shorts and a ko return ....he failed on both 3rds and he was average on the ko return...they are certainly giving him opps. to make the team

I swear, sometimes Horton really impresses, and sometimes he looks like he shouldn't be playing football.

10 minutes ago you said that Horton should make the team. Now you're saying we should put him on PS? Make up your mind.

It's raining. I don't think we will get to see Kelly.

hamilton and wilson are gunna make it hard to cut them...I think tryon being cut (ps)may give them a shot..I do think horton will make the cut

Matty if your watching this thread did the Giants 1st stringers play? How'd they look? Curious about our competition in a week.

It was hortons worst play of preseason...Im pissed, depressed and drinking beers....let me vent dude...I do think he'll make the team though

skinsnut 08-28-2008 09:05 PM

Re: Redskins vs. Jaguars Thread

2 run calls in a row?
wow...result...first down...great lead block by nemo.
Our team is designed for lead FB blocking.
I know they dont want to keep 2 but based on our strength of running and need to help line with pass blocking, they should probably keep 2 FB....I still worry we dont have a Run blocking TE

Yup. He hasn't been much of a factor since the 2nd preseason game.

Re: Redskins vs. Jaguars Thread

holt just gave up a 3rd and 15....I love the way the guy hits but his coverage has been exposed a couple times tonight against backups....man...this guy is soooo on the bubble.
he should have called in sick today

Come on Portis, tell us you're pissed and will run for 200 yds and 3 tds vs. the Giants next week.....and then tell Adam Schitter that he has a girl's job.
