Hahaha! Seriously. |
Re: The Vick Factor
I'd LOVE to see them bring in Michael Vick. That way Carlos Rogers can work on catching the ball. Maybe they can bring back Albert Connell too, so he can share a locker with MV. After all, I heard both were well-loved by their teammates.

Re: The Vick Factor
This isn't specifically about Vick, but it is about leadership and maturity at the QB position. Tony Dungy's take on the Cutler trade.

I am glad. Although he would be an exciting addition to our roster, we simply do not need the drama. |

This debate of getting Vick vs not getting Vick reminds me a lot of the Pacquiao/Hatton fight. Beforehand you think, all right it'll probably be a good fight, maybe 8 or 10 rounds but I think Pacquiao is going to win in the end. Then reality comes and you see it's nothing more then a Round 2 knockout. Sure there was a possibility that Vick could have been a Redskin given Snyders habits, Hall's history with Vick, the QB situation being shaky, and Vick being a local boy but in the end, despite all those factors, it was still unlikely that Vick was going to end up here. |

So, since the Skins never go back on their word or lie we can write this topic off and be sure to send it to every news agency so no one can come back later and say "The Skins are interested" for whatever purpose. Right. I mean I honestly don't care whether we get him or not. If the coach's felt he could be a piece to our puzzle then who am I to disagree, but I just so tired of hearing "The Skins are interested", "The Skins are not interested," "The Skins are interested," "The Skins are not interested," "The Skins are interested." and on, and on, and on. |

However, this article seems to make some good points, whether or not danny & vinny think so, we don't know. Danny is big on pr, so the cost/benefit should really weigh heavily in favor of not talking to vick at all. The reason I think he's unlikely to come here is Zorn. Assuming Zorn has some pull on personel (see the Jansen situation), I would think he's got no interest in a qb who would be great in the wildcat, cause JZ doesn't run it. |

The Falcons have to take a $7.1M cap hit for cutting him. That really sucks for them.

Re: The Vick Factor
I definitely didn't want to start a new thread on this but while we're on the topic of Vick I've come to realize that Reggie Bush is the new Vick (i.e. Vick before the legal troubles). A dynamic talented player that doesn't have the impact on the field that his high draft status and hype would suggest. Plus when you have a fleet of apologist saying stuff like "you don't understand his impact on the game" "he's not a traditional running back!". It's then that you know you've arrived in Vick territory.
I'm sorry but 1,500 rushing yards in three years is unacceptable for a back to be praised in the same manner that some have chosen to praise Bush. Especially when the guy was averaging over 1,700 rushing yards with 8.7 yards per carry your senior year of college. Sure he's a very good punt returner and receiver out of the back field but even with that you see his impact to be inconsistent. Maybe one day he'll have a Brian Westbrook type turnaround but for now he's this era's Michael Vick. *End Rant* Anyway heres the article that brought thsi on. Vick never had any impact on the field. He never made the play-offs. Never made it to the NFC Championship. He was never the first player to lead his team to the first playoff victory ever on Lambeau Field. He was'nt your traditional QB but to say he had no impact you must not have watched him play. You can't compare him to Reggie Bush. Reggie was not the leader of his team. Mike Vick was and he led them to the playoffs with no receivers. So not a good comparison. Wikipedia:Michael Vick - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia * He is also first among QB's all-time in rushing yards per game, at 53.5 yards per game. Vick also holds several NFL quarterback rushing records, including most rushing yards in one game (173), most 100-yard rushing games (7), and most rushing yards in a single season (1,039). *In 2002, Vick became a star and MVP candidate in his first season as a full-time starter at the age of 22.
