No I didn't have to because we called the customer who was nice enogh to come back and pay for it but I did write her up for it. After reviewing the tape its clear she didn't mean to but she should have noticed the total wasnt right.

Yeah, that would be a huge red flag you'd think.

Nice place from what I've heard. Great golf course on-site (with more courses within a short drive), good fishing on the Choptank. You're about an hour from MD/DE Beaches, and an hour and a half from DC or Baltimore.

What's up with leaving your mobile on your desk, then going to lunch for an hour? Alarms and calls going off every 5 f'ing minutes. I'm about to pull the battery on this clown's phone.

I turn the ringer volume down on co-workers' phones all the time. I hate that.

Women have the worst ringtones too.

Re: The Workplace

My employee's are told to cut off their cell phones before they start the day. Its not very professional having a customer sitting in front of you and your cell phone ringing. I have a mgr who came to my office for a quick meeting and got up 4 times to answer his cell and I could tell 2 were personal. The 4th time it went off he walked to the back of the office and I went out the front door leaving for lunch.

They are not to load up Excel either now that would be extremely unprofessional if they do so!

Ugh tell me about it. This woman in the cubicle next to me used to leave her phone on all the time like that, and one of her ringtones was this annoying scream. Real professional when you're on a call and there's a screaming ringtone going off in the background.

I always keep my ringer off at work. In fact I keep my ringer off 99% of the time unless I'm expecting an important call.

Yeah, I do something work-related with the business I run 7 days a week. I'm not there everyday, but on my "days off" I have at least 2 phone calls a day with my assistant. It's just how it goes.

However when I go to Florida the first week of June for my 1 year wedding anniversary, I'm telling everyone that unless there's a freaking 4 alarm crisis, leave me the eff alone.

^ I told them the same thing as far as my wedding is concerned Scud. If I get one unnecessary phone call everyone is getting fired.

The lady in my office who I mentioned before that doesn't know jack about Excel. She tripped coming out of her cube this morning and when she tired to get up she ripped the loudest fart that I have heard in a long time.

Seriously people where turning blue trying to hold in the laughter.

Made my morning.

Re: The Workplace

We have a loudspeaker system at work. (I work in a housing products factory) If you dial 77 you can speak directly into the loudspeaker system so you can page people. Often times people will do it accidentally or page someone and not hang up the phone properly, then you get to listen to office conversations and people singing to themselves over the loudspeaker. One day I heard a guy singing nursery rhymes to himself. If you are in the front office you cannot hear the loudspeakers out in the plant so you have no idea you are live.

I love this.

There's a guy in our office who must have some sort of GI problem because I hear him audibly fart just about any time I'm around him for more than 30 minutes at a time. It never stinks though.

It's like he's sucking plain air into his ass and blasting it out for kicks.

Re: The Workplace

I started with my company 3.5 years ago and they've been talking about moving into a new building the entire time and today it's finally happening. Should be pretty interesting.

I went in yesterday for a few hours to set up my desk and catch up on some stuff (we had to be out by noon on Friday for the movers, which made for an epic happy hour). The new place is a lot nicer than where we were IMO, but I guarantee I'm going to have to listen to people bitching for various reasons for the new few months or so since some people really can't handle change.

Wow, that's huge. You might get to see Qatar for a few years as they prepare for the 2022 World Cup.

Is this move tied to your career or that of your fiancee/wife...or both your careers?

It's tied to my wife's. She is in the final stages of landing a job with Al-Jazeera English. I'm excited about working from anywhere in the world and make my own work schedule.

That's fantastic. Al Jazeera English is very underrated in my opinion. I'd love to spend a few years working abroad
