Cooley: Trade bait Moss: Re-signed to a short term deal Carter: Gone (maybe traded) Hicks: Back as a reserve Brown: Back as a starter McNabb: Back Heyer: Back as a reserve Kemo: If he'll take a cut, back as a reserve Daniels: Back as a reserve, unless he chooses to retire Rabach: Gone Fletcher: Back, he needs an heir though Portis: Back Sellers: Please be gone Rogers: Will leave as a free agent Hall: Back Moore: They''ll look to replace him Golston: He'll look to get a big payday, but will be back
You think Rabach will be gone after just signing a new deal? If Rogers leaves this will be a setback. Philip Bucanon has been borderline horrible. What do you think about Rocky? |
Re: LOL @ Redskins
What happened on Monday night was flat out disgraceful. They disgraced themselves, the city of DC, the fans, every Redskin player that ever played and they disgraced the NFL. There's no way you get beatdown in an important game at home against a division rival. You would have thought the Eagles were the best team ever Monday night. How does Shanny let that happen?
I don't know what is, but there's something terribly wrong with this franchise. They just can't get it right. Until we actually rebuild, we can expect more of the same. As a longtime fan, I'm embarrassed by what happened Monday. |

They've taken us as far as they can. Time to get some young studs at the skilled positions. |
Re: LOL @ Redskins
welcome DM72, yeah alot of fans and posters on here share your sentiment. personally i dont see the MNF disaster as an indictment against Shanny or the skins future success as much as I see it as vick played bananas, eagles got the bounces and we played horrible.
to be honest, we could benefit from such a debacle b/c it may force shanny, shanny jr and haslett to really look in depth at our problems. it could be what we needed to force a serious and honest look at what we are doing coaching wise. sometimes problems lead to opportunities to get better. |

Cooley: Trade bait / maybe - but we get rid of him now who do we have Moss: Re-signed to a short term deal / same as above. Carter: Gone (maybe traded) / who cares..needs to go Hicks: Back as a reserve / reserve / could start, he wasn't bad in caroline Brown: Back as a starter / if healthy, like it. McNabb: Back / of course Heyer: Back as a reserve / NO WAY, dude has to go if not just so we wont be tempted to play his sorry ass Kemo: If he'll take a cut, back as a reserve / has to go too Daniels: Back as a reserve, unless he chooses to retire / has to retire Rabach: Gone / not so quick. Fletcher: Back, he needs an heir though / i'd keep him 1 more year Portis: Back / has to go Sellers: Please be gone / Why? good blocker, makes plays when asked Rogers: Will leave as a free agent / stonehands can leave. Hall: Back / will be back based on contract Moore: They''ll look to replace him / still young, would give up yet Golston: He'll look to get a big payday, but will be back
/ doesn't do enough, should go. |
Re: LOL @ Redskins
How can Portis come back. He did nothing this year, or last year. I know he was injured both times, but still. We need to get young at that position....

LOL I do agree Solid....but come on Solid you got more than that for Portis...Get'em Get'em |
Re: LOL @ Redskins
If CP comes back in a 3rd down type of role, I'd be all for that.
|
Re: LOL @ Redskins
Portis has been sorely missed this year, just take a look at the sack totals while he was out & watch the highlights of his blocks earlier in the year. The dude can play another few years as a 3rd down back if he stays in shape/healthy & accepts that role. Given the lack of depth at rb too, he's likely back.

Buchanon might be gone too. Rocky is trade bait. Rocky was serious trade bait this past off-season, expect that will happen again this year |

I made my peace with Portis because i felt sorry for him, the fact that he believes he is still a top 5 player, even though its only in his head. The truth is, i bet he believes that he can still be a starter somewhere else, and he will demand starter money, which is why he wont be back here... |
Re: LOL @ Redskins
They're not getting his reps cause they're light & not run stoppers. Daniels has always played well in that regard & can play DT or DE. Sure, he hasn't gotten many sacks since that great game in 05, but he holds his own. Blocked a FG this year & is in on short yardage packages, which this team has been surprisingly solid at.
BS. Jarmon is big enough to play the run and WAY MORE ATHLETIC. I'll take a guy a who is will make some plays cause he's younger and more athletic than a slower than a turtle Daniels. Yeah Jarmon may blow an assignment or two but so what? That goes with playing young guys so they'll reap the benefits in the next year and so on. What good does it do playing Holiday and Daniels??? |
Re: LOL @ Redskins
Jarmon is not fully healthy yet from his torn ACL which is why he hasn't played as much. That said, dude has done everything and more asked of him. Gaining weight, losing weight, gaining again, losing again
Portis has been an extremely positive influence on the team the past several months, and showed early in the year he can still be a very effective runner and is still the league's best blocking back |

Cooley: Trade bait ....PLEASE TRADE AND GET WHAT YOU CAN. Moss: Re-signed to a short term deal.... TRADE OR CUT Carter: Gone (maybe traded).....CUT Hicks: Back as a reserve ......CUT OR BACK UP A ROOKIE Brown: Back as a starter.....KEEP..only cause he'll be healthy in 2011 McNabb: Back.....NO! I'VE SEEN ENOUGH! TRY AND TRADE, DRAFT A ROOKIE AND START GROOSMAN Heyer: Back as a reserve. NO! , PLEASE NO! SHOULD NOT BE ON AN NFL ROSTER. UFL PLAYER AT BEST Kemo: If he'll take a cut, back as a reserve....NO! BEEN ON ROLLER SKATES ALL YEAR. Daniels: Back as a reserve, unless he chooses to retire. HELL NO!!!! NEED I SAY WHY?????? Rabach: Gone ....GOOD BYE AND GOOD RIDDANCE Fletcher: Back, he needs an heir though....NICE GUY, GREAT CHARACTER BUT NO. Portis: Back.....NO. CAN'T STAY HEALTHY. HE'S LIKE A JAGUAR W/ 150,000 MILES. ALWAYS BREAKING DOWN!!!!!!!! Sellers: Please be gone.....NO.. LET THE YOUNG GUY PLAY THAT SCORED LAST WEEK!! Rogers: Will leave as a free agent....SIGN AND TRY AND TRADE. NICE COVER GUY BUT CAN'T CATCH A BEACHBALL IF IT WAS THROW TO HIM FROM 2 FEET AWAY. Hall: Back...NICE PLAY MAKER BUT TALK IS CHEAP AND HE TACKLES LIKE A GIRL. Moore: They''ll look to replace him.....KEEP ONLY CAUSE HE'S STILL YOUNG Golston: He'll look to get a big payday, but will be back.....NOPE. HOW MANY YEARS HAS HE BEEN HERE AND WHAT HAS HE DONE? BIG PAY DAY???ONLY IN HIS DREAMS |

LOL your a trip Solid. You made peace lol. I think its time to part ways with Portis, always like him. I just dont see keeping that salary for being a good blocking back. |

It's not like our running game without him is the shit...if he's healthy I would insert him as the starter because his pass protection is invaluable in all downs. |

Somewhere like New England. He could touch the ball 10-15 times a game and would probably thrive in that role. Hoodie would keep him in check. Perfect place for CP. |

I would hope RB will be high on our offseason wishlist. Not sure CP can handle the load full time anymore that's why I suggested a 3rd down role. Either way, the guy still has some value. |
Re: LOL @ Redskins
I always figured if Portis could accept a role as a backup, that he would be very good in 3rd down situations, or the occasional handoff to change things up. I just think that he still has that starter mentality and would not want to share the job with someone else...

Not sure what he's doing exactly to give you the indication that he's not willing to share the load. He didn't pout when we brought in Parker and LJ, hell he didn't even gripe when Betts got snaps in the past. And he was Keiland's biggest cheerleader the other night. I think it's time to admit it SS, he's not the self-serving egomaniac you picture him as. |

And I wasn't criticizing him. I just mean i think he is mentally at the point right now where he believes he is a #1 back. I am just assuming that at year's end, he will want a new contract giving him starter money, and i think he will go to some other team...I am not criticizing him at all. |

What has he said or done to make you assume that?? Regardless of what he wants, nobody is going to give him starter money, that's just the reality of things. So I really wouldn't be surprised if he sticks around in a reduced role here. He likes playing for MS and I don't get the impression he wants to leave when push comes to shove. |

They're quick to get rid of guys that don't produce. As far as I'm concerned, we should rid ourselves of any offensive player from the past 5 years. It's time to close the chapter on Portis, Moss and even Cooley. |

There's some good free agent WR's that will be available next year. We can definitely upgrade at WR next year. |
Re: LOL @ Redskins
We are a joke this year. There's just no two ways about it. We have only seven possessions all season that have lasted 10 plays or more, fewest in the NFL.
Donovan McNabb is the league's lowest-rated quarterback on third down, completing only 42 percent of his passes with a rating of 44.5. The Redskins went 0 for 10 on third down conversions against the Eagles. They could start 11-for-11 against the Titans and still not catch up to the percentage of 31st-ranked Chicago. The defense is giving up 415.3 yards per game, on pace to threaten the all-time NFL record for yards allowed in a season. The last two games have been real stinkers — a 37-25 loss to Detroit preceded the debacle against Philadelphia. P A T H E T I C ! |
Re: LOL @ Redskins
any expectations of Superbowls or playoff are plain stupid, with a rebuild offensive line, with a WR corp so week, not one would be a starter on any other team.... Moss would be a slot, and a defensive so fliped around, that everyone is out of place...... Carter goes from 11 sacks to benched....... Really? So, I suggest that we get ready to be back in the lottery, making trades and upgrading our D.......
