Anyways, lets talk about the game this weekend and not some Faux terrorism alerts. Thanks.

When they broke the news last night on CNN about the possiblity of credible terrorists threats on the anniversary of 9/11. It actually made me want to go to the game. I have no plans to travel up there to see the game but the fact that we are suppose to live in fear of these people just scratched a nerve in me to go. Myh best friend and I were there for the first ESPN Monday night football game back in 06 the five year anniversary of the attacks. AND it was electric in the stadium before kickoff. The flags waving everywhere during the national anthem was a site to behold. I have a picture of it hanging in the hallway of my house. We lost that game to the then Brad johnson led Vikings but the pregame energy was awesome. I would love to be back there for the tenth anny but it is just not in the cards.

SCREW the Jihadists and get your asses out there to the stadium. Fear not my friends, if it is your time then it is your time. Only God knows what will become of us all in the end. Live your life as free men and women, and damn on the rest. HAIL!!

The real people who actually do the fighting will never be the ones to lie to you.

There are credible threats this weekend, but lets not lock ourselves in the house. Get out there and enjoy your life, if you live in fear of a terrorist attack then they have already won.

Anways. My biggest fear this weekend just so happens to be one of Rex's main weaknesses. His pocket presence. Giants D-line (regardless if Osi/Tuck are out) are still good, and I worry that Rex is going to fold under the pressure and possibly cough up the ball. His pocket presence and ball security is SOOOO bad. Here is hoping to a great game by Rex!!

I think this game will be close, but we'll pull away in the fourth and win by either 4 or 9 points. I feel like later in the year we'll play them when they are at their healthiest and the most players back, but they'll lose to us by a lot for that second game when they'll be most expected to beat us.

Also, off topic, but this Burfict kid from ASU, looks like the next Ray Lewis.

How about we just talk about the Giants/Skins game? That way, we don't have to tell people off? If you have to ask if you cross the line.....that isn't a good sign. Just sayin. :)

Re: Redskins vs. Giants pre-game thread

Well my thoughts on this weekends vs the Giants are as flollow:
I think we have a 60/50 chance to get a victory if we do the these things.
1. Rush the football and gain 100 or more yards
2.Hold the Giants under 100 yards rushing.
3. When the turnover battle.
4.Score a TD on special teams ( Punt Return, KR, or Block Punt TD)
5.When the time of possession.
6. Most important keep the Giants from sacking Rex.
7.Come out in New Uniforms. New season new attitude
If we can do these things we should win the game.
My prediction Redskins 27 - Giants 16
Hail to Redskins Nation and God Bless America

Do we really HAVE to score on 'teams'....and are you saying that we can't give up a sack at all? Sounds like pretty strict criteria to overcome.

How about we win because they are decimated by injuries on D and have looked out of sync offensively?

LOL! I can't believe I didn't notice that!

I love it!

One thing about football.....footballs have a very odd shape - they were never meant to be thrown through the air. Causes them to bounce funny, pop out at the wrong time and completely change games - just by virtue of their cumbersome form.

Anything can happen. Any one of us can be right.

Both teams have key players injured so I dont think this will be an all-time classic. The skins are at home and that will be the difference. The Skins will barely slip by the Giants in an ugly game.

Confucius is that you? All your points are helpful to win every game. But you first 2 are most important (outside your odds): Run the ball and stop the run. This is especially huge this year. Run the ball to take it outta Rex's hands to avoid stupid mistakes and control the line of scrimage. And stop the run to again control the line of scrimage and shut down apart of opponent game which we should be able to do alot easier than our secondary handling the pass. We must do both in order to win this season.
I don't think it's a stretch to say the Skins are probably better than the Giants at this stage in the season, plus we'll be playing at home. The Giants have had some departures, tons of bad luck with injuries, and didn't have a great FA season.

I think Rexy will be steady, but not great and Hightower's fantasy value will go through the roof after we shred the Giants' defense.

Redskins 27
Giants 13
The G men will move the ball if our O doesn't keep them off the field. The D may be banged up, but they still have all their weapons on offense - Manning, Manningham, Nicks, Bradshaw, Jacobs.

Our O needs to dominate time of possession, which shouldnt be impossible with our running game and the Giant's D being banged up like it is. I think they'll score more than 13 points.

SInce you ****ing fools can't drop it and move on pretty much like I suggested. I'm going to throw my final two cents in. If you have a issue with what I said, send me a PM, don't continue the garbage. You two can continue your flag waving shit elsewhere, but don't do it in this thread. If you are so worried by Muhammad blowing you up, then shut the **** up, stay home and continue swallowing that bullshit whole that the media/governmet feeds you. There are bigger dangers out there than terrorists. In fact, lets tally up the numbers on terrorists related deaths and then do the same for alcohol related deaths and then get back at me which YOU think needs the "high alert".

Re: Redskins vs. Giants pre-game thread

I do expect the Skins to win - decidedly. However, there are two areas that I am leary about.

1. O-line - We are done if we can't establish a good running game. If the O-line can't open holes for the backs, and we are forced into 3rd and long a lot, I think Rex is in for a long day.

2. Pass coverage - not just the DBs but the LBs as well. I just really don't know what to expect since I didn't get to see any preseason games. But the player turnover from last year is big and I have a hard time believing they will have their communication down with the shortened offseason. I'm hoping they surprise me...that being said, if we can get to ELI and stop the run I'm not as worried.

Good to see all the emotion in this thread...I love America and all your opinions on the game and everything else. Wish I was there to go to the game and feel that energy.

NC_Skins - been looking all over ever since I got here, but you're right... no WMD so far :cheeky-sm

Expert's Take: Redskins vs. Giants | John Keim | NFL | Washington Examiner

The following analysis from Matt Bowen might do the redskins well.

On attacking their defense: “If I was Mike Shanahan, I’d use a lot of three receiver sets. I’d force them to bring a nickelback on the field, see what kind of depth they’ve got and you can run the ball out of that, too. And I’d take a deep shot really early in the game, in the first three plays. I’d want to let them know we’re going to test the secondary all day.”

Agree about not getting hopes up too high...but I would say that half of the 10 ESPN guys who make weekly picks have chosen the Redskins to win this weekend and Jaws has us in the playoffs...and I agree about no excuses
