I believe the story goes along the lines that he got hot oil in his eyes when he was working in a fast food restaurant as a teen, and now his eyes are really sensitive to light. Can't confirm that though, but I'm sure it was mentioned in an article somewhere along the line.

Man very sloppy game between Oakland and Denver, lots of scuffles between the players. Also, lots of penalties.
