Only 1 million??...lol Hell the coach here at ECU makes that. That school profits (yes..profits) 50 million a year on Penn State football.

Ive heard rumors already of taking his statue down, maybe as a symbolic gesture. I think as everyone digest the severity of what happend and joes role in it students/alumni/school will have a strong desire to separate themselves from his likeness |

Thats the base salary. He makes more with bonuses and 'donations' from boosters. |

He's more likely to look at a huge civil suit for negligence and if he does get convicted criminally it will be probation.
I agree with you but I was paraphrasing from the penn state neighbor's discussion, and also what I have been seeing on TV. TV said tonight that two of the charges Joe may face are felonies in the state of Pennsylvania and the violation of the Child Protective Services law can carry a 3 year sentence in jail. He most likely will have community service / some type of fines, but then again the judge can look how far back joe was covering things up and be stricter on him... I'm not a lawyer so i dont know how that all works. |

McQueary is the worst in all of this (save the obvious choice of Sandusky). He saw a 58 year old man sodomizing a kid. He was apparently 28 years old at the time 6'4 200 something pounds. I don't know about you but in a fight I would have thought that McQueary had the upper hand. I mean if he had seen him naked in the showers with the kid that would have been one thing, because even though thats inappropriate it still leaves a little room for reasonable doubt. However from what I'm hearing he actually saw the rape and there is nothing to misinterpret about that situation. He caught him red handed and rather then saving the kid from a feeble old man he ran and left that kid to suffer through more abuse, not even calling the police. That is unacceptable. Apparently one of the alleged reasons as to why he isn't being fired is to avoid any further liability. A university firing a whistle blower is apparently a great way to get sued. Rumors started today that there will be evidence released soon that Sandoushsky was actually pimping out young boys to rich pervs. A full on weird Nambla Sex ring type of thing. It was on aol earlier today. Who knows how much speculation that is but at this point, I'm not surprised by anything. I can't believe how evil this cat is. I grew up with a dad who arrested serial killers and sociopathic drug cartel hit men and this is giving me the same feeling in my stomach that the stories he would tell me about these demented raping serial killer types. Crimes that tear away the fabric of our very humanity. It's unreal man. Those poor kids.

This is a good article by a ex-FBI agent and a good story about Bo Schembechler having to "do the right thing."
In 1987, the FBI was investigating two sports agents, Norby Walters and Lloyd Bloom, who had ties to organized crime. Walters and Bloom had worked up a scam where they bribed blue-chip college football players to sign post-dated, secret, agency contracts while they were still eligible to play college football – a clear violation of NCAA rules. Ultimately some of the players balked, threats were made by Walters and Bloom, and the whole thing fell apart. Players who had signed the contracts were identified. They were all star players on prominent college teams. Two of the players were on Bo’s 1986 Michigan team. When Bo found out, he was livid. He called one of the players, Garland Rivers, an All-American DB, into the office and had Rivers tell him the whole story. Then Bo called me. When I got to Bo’s office, Bo told Rivers “Tell this FBI agent everything about your relationship with Norby Walters.” Bo could have distanced himself and Michigan from the investigation. Michigan would have been just one of many major football programs victimized by Walters and Bloom. But that wasn’t Bo. Damage control doesn’t mean hiding from the truth. It means taking responsibility for your actions and trying to rectify the mistakes.
|

It never came close to being a best-seller, it almost didn't get published, and Richeal, the co-author, never liked the title. But Jerry Sandusky insisted. He wanted the book about his life to be called "Touched." Richeal has a quiet job selling headstones at a monument company now, but his phone has not stopped ringing for the past six days. Sandusky, legendary assistant coach and pillar of the community, has been charged with 40 counts of sexual abuse to boys in a scandal that has prompted Joe Paterno's firing and rattled the state of Pennsylvania. Sandusky's name is toxic, and his movements are tracked. On Thursday, the State College paper reported that, according to a source, Sandusky was seen shopping at a Dick's Sporting Goods wearing Penn State gear, and a nation recoiled. There were many missed chances to investigate as early as 1995 | PennLive.com
The earliest documented report of possible abuse at the hands of Sandusky is in 1995, when his now-legally adopted son was still a teenage foster child in his home. The adoption file for Matt Sandusky, who had a different name at the time, contains letters of concern from his mother to children and youth officials and to a Centre County judge. Matt’s biological mother, Debra Long, testified before the grand jury. Matt, 33, is not one of the victims in the grand jury presentment, but he did testify before the grand jury. Sandusky’s attorney, Joe Amendola, said Long is upset with Sandusky for helping her son and her allegations are not based in fact. Matt went to live with the Sandusky family after he was caught setting fire to a barn in 1995. Children and Youth Services placed him with the Sandusky family at Jerry Sandusky’s request. He knew Matt through The Second Mile. In his book, “Touched: The Jerry Sandusky Story” several pages are devoted to Matt. “He became an instant challenge for me,” Sandusky writes. Debra Long was allowed to visit her son only one-half day per month after he went to live with the Sanduskys. About four months after he went to live with Jerry, Matt attempted suicide with a girl who was also staying at Sandusky’s house.
|

This is not to excuse his behavior, but rather to make it more understandable why he decided to do what he did. Not to mention that Sandusky's relationship with him had far greater deal of closeness and trust than a typical player-coach relationship since the families knew each other. |

He also earlier admitted to hugging boys while naked and im not sure what kind fo intent you can have there either. But Im kind of glad that he is fighting the charges because otherwise i think he would kill himself, leave a note that said he didnt do it but feels disgraced and in effect take away any fair justice from the victims.
And i think that all of the victims of the most graphic assaults that the witnesses saw (McQuery and the janitors) have never been identified. In fact does anyone know what actual witnesses there are that are also victims and what they allege? I honestly feel like most victims wouldnt come forward at this point. Can you image keeping the secret that you were raped as a kid and then come out with it to everyone you know in order to be a witness. What if you now live a completely normal life, just imagine how people would now treat you. Plus they say that 50% of all child molesters where molested when they were kids, i would bet some people may even act differently when youre around there kids. Its very sad and an absolutely horrible thing. |
