Yes, we will. |
Re: 2012 QB Prospects (Part 2)
Right now, I just hope the NFC East totally collapses. So long as the Eagles don't win it.
Someone asked Dan Graziano on Twitter yesterday who would win the NFC East if the Cowboys totally collapsed down the stretch. He was like, "Redskins? I don't know." The joys of a one game win streak. I don't care that the Redskins cant win it, I just want the winner to post an 8 win record, be it the Cowboys or the Giants. |
Eagles have no chance and I'd love to win out and win the East but again no chance. I'm sticking w NY @ 10-6 and sweep Dallas (10-6) to get in. Along w GB, NO, SF, CHI and ATL
1. GB 2. SF 3. NO 4. NYG 5. ATL 6. CHI or DET |

I agree, this is what I could see them doing. Unlike most others on this board, I would not at all be shocked if the Skins dont draft a QB. |

This article would be a good starting point for a 2012 Free Agents thread. Would you do the honors of starting it? Then we can talk about which FA's we need to go after. :argue: |

Count me in as one of the "others on this board." While we're at it, might want to count Danny Boy in w/us too! I'm not saying that Snyder is "meddling" but I could see a pre-draft mtg. between he & Shanny starting like this, "So Mike, who's your favorite QB in this draft?" The pressure on Shanhan to draft & develop a QB is so high. I hope it doesn't affect his decisions |

Re: 2012 QB Prospects (Part 2)
i say luck is coming out and only either RGIII or Barkley, not both. and im not interested in landry jones regardless. we need RGII or Barkley
|
Even though I'm a OU fan I'm very shaky about Landry jones he's a cool ass dude and a class act but on the field his decision making is crazy at times.. I want us to try hard to trade up to 1.. I really think Luck would make us a 9 win team next yr

Do yourself a favor and stop hoping that we'll somehow be able to trade for Luck. You'll be greatly disappointed. The Colts have been secretly (if obviously) "sucking for Luck" for most of the season. He is the perfect successor to Peyton Manning, either now or later. It's a damned disgrace, if you ask me. They are just now making the change from Painter to Orlovsky (as if that will help any). When the Colts passed on picking up Orton on waivers, that should have told you all you needed to know about their intentions. I'm sure you know more about Landry than I do, but I like him as a prospect. He may be inconsistent at times, but he has big-time talent. Sometimes I think that the reason OU fans knock him is because he's not Sam Bradford. Well, he can't help that - but he can work to improve once he gets to the pros. |

Barkley. USC. Trade up over Miami to get him. Watch. Money in the bank. |
Re: 2012 QB Prospects (Part 2)
I think the Colts strategy is genius. Sure Manning may come back for awhile and perform at a high level, and he will be able to mentor Luck during that time and ready him for the big stage.
It's too bad our coaching staff doesn't have this kind of foresight. It seems like we're "reactive" to circumstances rather than proactive... |

I wouldn't mind having either one, but as of right now, I think RGIII is the guy. |

I'd take any of the 3 honestly, I just think Luck is the safest bet |
Re: 2012 QB Prospects (Part 2)
The more i watch barkley play, the more I want the skins to do whatever it takes to draft him. I hope we can snag him just with our pick, but we might have to give up a pick to move up. The guy is as good as any i have seen come out in 7 or 8 years, imho.
|
Re: 2012 QB Prospects (Part 2)
I dont ever think there is a safe bet but I would be happy with either of the 3 also.
|
Re: 2012 QB Prospects (Part 2)
I say if P. Manning is released, we sign him and draft a QB he can teach. Just my 2 cents. As far as drafting a QB I do not know enough about what qualities MS wants in a QB to even speculate as to where or who we should draft at that position.
|
Re: 2012 QB Prospects (Part 2)
No chance Manning is cut
|
Re: 2012 QB Prospects (Part 2)
The problem with both Barkley and RGIII is that either or both of them may stay in school one more year.
|
Re: 2012 QB Prospects (Part 2)
Ya never know bud. I am not staking my claim that it will happen just throwing out the possibility. It is the NFL you never know what the hell these guys are going to do. If I were the owner/gm of the Colts, I don't cut him or even trade him till he retires.

Well i am all for signing him, even if he has to play with a cane. As far as teaching, he looks like a bad teacher, just look at Curtis Painter. |

Wisdom of teaching can only go as far as physical ability can take you. A 1st round QB draftee will have a much higher physical skill set than Curtis Painter. |

Re: 2012 QB Prospects (Part 2)
I would not give that up, IMO Barkley will be just as good as Luck. Luck is just more athletic. I say stay where we end up. If Barkley or RGIII falls to us pull the trigger, if not, Mo Claiborne or Trent Richardson would look good in a Skins jersey.
I don't want the Redskins to trade up in the Draft. We have other holes to fill and it will be nice having 2 extra picks this year. I am with you on this. If when we pick Luck, Barkley, or RGIII is not availaible Claiborne is at the top of my list. He would be # 1, Hall # 2, Wilson # 3, that would be a solid group of cb's. I also agree you on Richardson too, I believe I have him at 9th on my top 10 Redskins big board. He can fit any system he is a beast. Helu is looking awesome but in this day and age a lot of teams have 2 good rbs that rotate in and Richardson is talented. |

When you have a good QB holes become miraculously filled. We need to fill holes with mid level free agents, like Ozzy Newsome does every year, so he can go into the draft and do what he wants. |

Agree 100% I'm tired of hearing of all the holes we need to fill Before we take a QB. Time is now |
Re: 2012 QB Prospects (Part 2)
I do want a quarterback. I said draft Luck, Barkley or RGIII if they are availaible.
But to trade into the top 3 would take a lot of draft choices, and I hate when teams trade away their next year's first round draft choice. This QB class is pretty deep and we could get a guy like Foles, Tanehill, etc. etc. in the 2nd round without giving away tons of our picks. |

The foresight to plan Peyton Manning's neck injury to occur right before the season in which the best pro-prospect (who could have gone pro a year ago, after Manning's neck issue was already present) since Elway is going to be #1 overall. Come on Smoot. 2 days away from ESPN and you're already behind on this stuff? ;) |

It would be worth it to get Barkely. We will be fine, if he pans out. Just look at the Bears, with Cutler. NFC championship and gave a kings ranson for him. Our team right now would have been 10-6 if we had a real QB. We have a 1,2,3,4,4,5,6,6,7, for 2012 and for 2013 we have 1,2,3,4,5,5,6,6,7. Not sure if we have to give the Cardinals anything for Hightower. We would still be able to add a bunch of quality rookies. They would be able to help plenty if they keep drafting like they have the last two years. Riley, Williams(very underrated by Redskins fans), Kerrigan, Jenkins, Hankerson, Helu, Paul, Gomes, Nield and Hurt. I give them a A plus. So I say get us a QB. Get us Barkley, he is 21. |
