@WesBunting Thought #TexasA&M QB Ryan Tannehill was a better prospect than Matt Barkley this year and think he is worth a top 20 pick #NFLDRAFT
Yeah if I can find it I'll post it but there was an article about him being perfect for the Skins because of his accuracy on the run and mobility. The big question and one I have is his foot injury and will he be healthy by the time camp starts? I know he should be but it always seems the Skins get the bad end of a lot of deals. |

Tannehill now rated third best QB draft prospect by Mike Mayock, right behind Luck and RGIII. |
Re: Predict Who Will Be The Next Redskins QB (Not Necessarily the QB You Want)
CBS also has Tannehill as a high pick.

A lot of people have Tannehill high. It's probably as much a negative comment on the rest of the QB class as it is a positive comment on him

Re: Predict Who Will Be The Next Redskins QB (Not Necessarily the QB You Want)
I wouldn't mind them picking up Tannehill in 2nd round to tinker with the next couple of years. Only if we have our FA guys in place.
Problem is that some team is going to reach for him in the first. Just hope it's not us and we already have our FA QB. My wish list trio - Flynn (FA), Blackmon (#6) and Tannehill (#38) |

Why in the world would you want Matt 7th round Flynn to tutor our new rookie future of the franchise over the best QB in the history of the league? If Manning is available, I think we would be fools to let him go anywhere else. I just hope he doesnt mind coming to the NFCE and playing his brother twice a year. BTW, if he would come here, both of those matchups would be Monday night games, or at the very least, a monday and Sunday nighter. Wonder what the ratings might be for a game like that?????? Ridiculous, maybe???? |
Re: Predict Who Will Be The Next Redskins QB (Not Necessarily the QB You Want)
I would like Bradford, Luck or RGIII in that order. I think we will sign Chad Henne FA. Trade back from #6 at least twice hopefully 3 times pick #28 OL Mike Adams and we will have 4 2nd rd picks. MS & BA will show VC how you use that many 2nd rd picks.

Yeah, it'd be a popular watch except I think that would be one reason PManning wouldn't pick an NFCE team. |

Re: Predict Who Will Be The Next Redskins QB (Not Necessarily the QB You Want)
IDK, I'm just not understanding the Bradford crave. I just don't get it. If he was really as good as people think then why wouldn't the Rams feel the same way and want to keep him and get some weapons or OL help? I just see us buying a Mustang for a Ferrari price so the Rams can go out and pick up a Corvette. Why don't we just try and get the Corvette? I know I know we are, but why should we make it any easier for the Rams? If they don't want to give us the #2 pick then screw them let them take RGIII and have Bradford on their roster or atleast until they decide to cut Bradford which won't happen.
Why do some of us want a 7th round Flynn? because he has been tutored by one of the best Rogers (discount double check). I'm also interested in Hoyer but he's a RFA so we would have to give up something for him. Flynn we do not cause he's a FA. I'd offer him the world and make him the starter. Bring in the best WR on the board or TE depending on what they do with Davis. Then I'd take a QB in the second round whoever is available for developement. Wilson? Cousins? Weeden? whoever. |
Re: Predict Who Will Be The Next Redskins QB (Not Necessarily the QB You Want)
RGIII without us having to trade up..
Manning is cut-signs with the Cardinals Kolb is cut-signs with the Browns (Has a history with Schurmer and Heckert in Philly) Flynn signs with the Dolphins Campbell signs with the Seahawks By default, we are the only ones (other than Indy) with a true QB need and the impetus to trade up is gone. |
Re: Predict Who Will Be The Next Redskins QB (Not Necessarily the QB You Want)
That would be nice but thats a lot of ifs and maybes.

Honestly, I'm leaning 70-30 that Manning is done as well but if he's not, here's why my scenario is plausible.. Arizona represents his best chance of getting back to the Super Bowl. They have a strong defense, a stud WR and a 1,200 yd back in Wells. They are really a QB away.. If they make that move, they can release Kolb (still having Skelton as a backup) before his $7 million roster bonus is due on the 5th day of the new league year.. The Browns aren't fully committed to replacing McCoy but Kolb improves competition and has a history in their offense, with the coach and GM. Also allows them to keep their 2 first round picks while improving at QB. The Dolphins/Flynn match is too perfect. The Philbin connection is there, he knows the offense, the only downside is they still lack a 'face' of the franchise. The only other team with a question at QB is Seattle.. It's a low profile team, moderate expectations and the perfect fit for Campbell-the only other starting QB on the market. He is an upgrade over Jackson and can stabilize their offense. Also, with Tom Cable there a level of comfort already exists with the offense. No other team would be as motivated to move up into the top 5 for RGIII. Sure it's a lot of 'what if' and is dependent on Manning being healthy but it could happen. That being said, if Manning is healthy a likely pairing of Manning/Tannehill in DC is just as plausible if not more. |
Re: Predict Who Will Be The Next Redskins QB (Not Necessarily the QB You Want)
I'd probably be down with a Manning/Tannehill pairing
I'd probably be down with a Manning/Tannehill pairing
That's about the only scenario I'd be happy with for either of them to be in DC. I'm concerned about Manning's health and think Tannehill is at least 2-3 years away from being a reliable starter. Don't want one without the other. |
If they make that move, they can release Kolb (still having Skelton as a backup) before his $7 million roster bonus is due on the 5th day of the new league year...
I think the Cards stick with Kolb one more year cause they don't want to look foolish for the trade they made for him.
The Browns aren't fully committed to replacing McCoy but Kolb improves competition and has a history in their offense, with the coach and GM. He's 10X better then McCoy they'd be stupid not to.
The Dolphins/Flynn match is too perfect. The Philbin connection is there, he knows the offense, the only downside is they still lack a 'face' of the franchise...
I think your right here, but it would be nice to out bid for Flynn and take him from under the Dolphins noses. I think 2 things will be the issue for him: 1- will he be the starter, 2- how much money will he make. I think if we offer both and out bid Miami we have a chance.
The only other team with a question at QB is Seattle..
No other team would be as motivated to move up into the top 5 for RGIII..
I think it depends on the coach and system and what they plan to do. I could see the Rams taking him to solidify their QB for the future then either keep Bradford and let them battle it out or trade Bradford. I could see the Vikes doing the same with Ponder. The Browns are infatuated with RGIII... I don't think they move up but if he's there they will take him. What about Tampa? the HC there said he can't wait to work with the current QB but maybe he later see's something he doesn't like or he wants to upgrade that position. Miami might want to make the jump especially if Flynn doesn't go their way or maybe they do anyway and use RGIII as a Wild Cat QB. The difference is the Browns have more to offer the question is will they do it?
Sure it's a lot of 'what if' and is dependent on Manning being healthy but it could happen. That being said, if Manning is healthy a likely pairing of Manning/Tannehill in DC is just as plausible if not more.
I personally think Manning is done. My reason for bringing him on board is so we have him and when he proves he can't play maybe he will listen to an offer for being on our coaching staff. I'm not saying he is the best coach folks just saying I'm sure he has some nice ideas about offensive plays and all those hand signs. |

We do not have 3 RB studs. We have two good ones and a FA coming off a torn ACL.

Yeah we don't need to draft any rbs IMO only if LJames is available in the 2nd just bcuz that guy is a freak athlete

Plus I'm interested in seeing what that dude (Tristan Davis) can do who had the weights that fell on his throat. He supposedly was on pace to being a 1st round pick until the injury.

Good and studs are two different things. Hightower never hit 100 yards for us and was the the 3rd leading rusher on the team. MJD is a great RB, Ray Rice is a great RB, AP is a stud RB. Helu and Royster have shown promise but they aren't studs and Helu is on of my favorite TV shows. |
