I'll still wear my Portis jersey I guess...he was one of the best RBs we ever had...it's not like I'm wearing Rod Gardner or Devin Thomas. I still see Gardner and Coles jerseys being worn sometimes! #5 jerseys are just cursed...Shuler, Brennan, McNabb...

I think we've all got our share of cursed jerseys.

For me it was Shuler, Champ, and Brad Johnson.

I'm thinking of maybe going the customized route and getting another Sean Taylor or Riggo. Can't go wrong there.

:doh:[/quote]Yup, me too. I also have Lav Coles, along with Marcus Washington, Champ Bailey 70th Anniversary, Art Monk, and Sean Taylor. I only wear the last two now.

My bad luck also continues to the two Nats jerseys that I own. I got a Brad Wilkerson jersey the first year the team was in DC. He was traded that offseason. Then last year I got a #18 Danny Espinosa; he's struggled since and then just switched his number to 8.

Maybe I shouldn't get an RGIII.

I stopped buying jerseys after Rypien won the SB. I bought a Joe Theismann the season he broke his leg, I then bought a Doug Williams after he won a SB and he lasted one season after that, followed by a few Ryp jerseys after his SB win only to last a couple after that. I rather have something representative of the organization rather than a player. I have bought player t-shirts, if they last a season you don't feel as bad scrapping a $20 t-shirt compared to a $200 jersey.

My Landry jersey is sad, along with my Coles jersey. I have been afraid all off-season that my Moss and Cooley jerseys would become has beens to. My favorite jersey ever was my D. Green, but it was lost years ago. I am afraid of buying current player jerseys, but I want a Kerrigan and an Orakpo.

I got a Riggo jersey and a Dexter Manley jersey. Free agency makes jerseys obsolete too often so I stick with the classics.

Found an interesting fact...the Redskins once wore BLUE uniforms for a game vs. the Brooklyn Dodgers. Apparently, the Dodgers insisted on wearing their red uniforms or just did not bring the blues and the Redskins had a burgundy that was close enough to the red to cause confusion. We had no white jerseys at that time, only one set which was B&G. Where we got the blue jerseys, I don't know.

We wonder if this was the only time the Skins ever wound up wearing this color? With the Dodgers and Cardinals both wearing red at times, could it be possible that blue was worn by the D.C. boys other than just this once in this era? And was it actually their own jerseys they wore or did they have to borrow from the Dodgers? If this was the only time that they ever wore blue, it lends credence to the possibility that it was the Dodgers' unis they were wearing. It would be interesting to see if the players wore their usual numbers, and if the numbers looked like the font the Redskins used at the time, or if they do in fact look like the Dodgers' blue uniforms. It is hard to make out any Redskins numbers in the photo in the newspaper article.
