and that size makes him hard to see behind all the taller blockers in front of him.. but with that he is more likely to get injured |

Banks runs a 4.5? Did he have a weight problem in obesity ?

Ideally he should be able to squeek in between blockers but I think most ST guys are so agile they can adjust/react and still get to Banks. I would much rather have a guy who's fast and can break some tackles. |

great point ... look I've loved watching Banks take em to the house just as much as anybody else but let's be real .. the NFL is making the return game harder each year and that's all he does .. now if he can play WR in some way shape or form that's different but I just don't see it ? I don't think he's on the team, I kinda hope i'm wrong but that's just because I do have a soft spot for the dude. |
Re: 2012 Redskins Free Agency (and Trades) Tracker (Chapter III)
Unless you're one of are STAR players, you need to play more than one position we have a Long Snapper (luxury position). IMO that's enough I think Banks will be gone.

So I guess Usain Bolt would look like a blur if he was 5'6 by your logic. |

I always forget Armstrong is still on the team, why is that? Oh that's right, last year's complete disappearing act...might have to start refering to him as David Copperfield |

I think he's saying that because his legs are so short they are actually rotating more than someone that was 6'5" going the same speed. |

Yeah I like his returns as well but the problem is we only see returns for TDs in the preseason. So we can get rid of him and I won't be sad. |

One of the things I loved about Banks was the excitement he brought when he stepped on the field. I remember being at the Packers game 2 years ago, and we needed that spark of electricity, and he provided it just when he walked on the field. My hope is that Griffin brings that energy into the offensive huddle, so that Banks enthusiasm and energy becomes less an anomaly and thus less of a need. |
Re: 2012 Redskins Free Agency (and Trades) Tracker (Chapter III)
Would the redskins consider signing Drayton Florence? I dont know much about him, but I think he is considered a good CB.
|
Re: 2012 Redskins Free Agency (and Trades) Tracker (Chapter III)
i was wondering the same thing. he is on the older side at 31, but we need all the help we can get at cb until we draft or acquire an elite one, bring him into camp why not.

Re: 2012 Redskins Free Agency (and Trades) Tracker (Chapter III)
i don't see us signing anymore veteran offensive lineman but i think jason brown could help us out and i think he would do it at the right price
Pats also had Grant and Addai visit. I can say with 98.375% confidence we're bringing back Hightower and adding Owen Schmitt.
Well...Schmitt's headed west to Oakland it seems |
Re: 2012 Redskins Free Agency (and Trades) Tracker (Chapter III)
I knew all along that Hightower would re-sign with the Redskins. For a moment I knew that there was a chance that he would join New England. But the Patriots don't suit him like the Redskins do.

Re: 2012 Redskins Free Agency (and Trades) Tracker (Chapter III)
Kinda of topic, I don't know how many of you have apps on your phone or iPod that gives you Redskins news but I do and what I'm finding I hate most getting info on players that are no longer Skins. Keep getting McNabb news, Beck news, Stallworth news. Mon got article about Stallworth glad to be back with the Pats so he can get a Ring, and today another article. Who the F cares?
The same thing with any tweet apps. Stallworth, Stallworth, Stallworth, Pats, Pats, Pats. Look I'm happy if he's happy now STFU. Besides I thought Hoody didn't like players giving interviews. |
Re: 2012 Redskins Free Agency (and Trades) Tracker (Chapter III)
What happened with Owen? Was it another Eddie Royal signing (meaning it didn't really happen)??

This tweet was from one of the ES insiders. Jsteelz @Jsteelzextreme Schmitt wanting a lil more then skins willing to offer, guat a contract aint our game right now..waiting game goes on So it looks like more coin was offered, or more guaranteed coin at least. |
Re: 2012 Redskins Free Agency (and Trades) Tracker (Chapter III)
That makes sense. I think if the Redskins had been serious about offering him a guaranteed contract they would have jumped on it earlier. Good for Morris I suppose
|
Re: 2012 Redskins Free Agency (and Trades) Tracker (Chapter III)
We don't need Schmitt. Darrel Young is a great starting FB for us and we now have a backup with that rookie and it appears Cooley also.
|
Re: 2012 Redskins Free Agency (and Trades) Tracker (Chapter III)
If they want to be here they will be here, if they don't then Oh! Well! IMO.
|
Re: 2012 Redskins Free Agency (and Trades) Tracker (Chapter III)
I'm actually glad we don't have another FB on the roster. I think Cooley can find a niche there as well as Morris assuming our backfield is too crowded with Hightower, Helu and Royster.
|
Re: 2012 Redskins Free Agency (and Trades) Tracker (Chapter III)
I remember Cooley's first year, he was listed as a RB on fantasy games, later a RB/TE.
I also enjoyed having Colston as a TE with WR stats his rookie year. Never figured that one out though. |

Why not have anyone wear whatever number they want? Ive never understood the whole, "O Line is 50s and 60s, D Line is 70 and 90s, WR are 80's, QBs are 1-19, RB's are 20s and 30s, Secondary are 20's and whatever...........Who gives a shiit? I guess its the whole, "Its the way its always been done, so we can't change it" philosophy. I personally would love to see a fat ass guard wearing number 1, and a QB wearing 94. It would be awesome. |

El oh el!!! |
Part of it, I think, is for ease of reference for the refs for things like eligible receivers or proper alignment.
I can see a difference for OL v backs and receivers - not sure why it matters on defense. There are probably some things applicable to DL that aren't applicable to other defensive positions but I can't think of any right now. |
Re: 2012 Redskins Free Agency (and Trades) Tracker (Chapter III)
I like the way it is in the NFL.
College and high school always annoyed me with the numbering. |

Where do you get that from? That's why there was a huge debate about if OJ was going to wear the #21. |
