Stop idolizing athletes above their contribution to the sport. If they contribute to charities, great, enjoy the tax write-off. Then get back on the field. Fans will cheer you when you rock the B&G then forget you when you start to fade or demand you be cut (ex: Clinton Portis, Doug Williams, etc.) I'm a grown man. No need for heroes....or autographs.
Well said and good post. |
Re: 2012 NFL Free Agency Tracker (Book 3)
Back to the NFL.
Darrelle Revis won't guarantee he'll be at New York Jets' camp - ESPN New York Why is this assclown still griping about his contract? He got a huge front loaded contract, and now doesn't want to honor the back portion of it. Eff this guy. So glad we don't have clowns like this on our squad anymore. They should let him rot and fine him each day he misses mandatory practice and refuse to do anything until his contract is over. THEN, I would franchise tag him just to piss him off even more. I'm normally in favor of players holding out when they've outplayed their contracts, but guys like this I have no sympathy for. |
Re: 2012 NFL Free Agency Tracker (Book 3)
The jets, jets, jets are....deep sh.. as an organization.

Re: 2012 NFL Free Agency Tracker (Book 3)
It sounds great in theory to not idolize these guys, but it's part of the deal. While it doesn't change my appreciation for what he did on the field, I agree it's disheartening to hear stories of how he treats people off the field.

He's still one of my favorite players of all time. I still remember watching those "NFL's Fastest Man" races and cheering for him to dust Tim Brown and James Jett. It was like watching MJ vs. Dominique Wilkins in a slam dunk contest, with Darrell being Jordan and winning every year. |
Re: 2012 NFL Free Agency Tracker (Book 3)
Another reason why I root for burgundy and gold and not Tom, Dick or Harry.

Re: 2012 NFL Free Agency Tracker (Book 3)

To me it would be one thing if all he did was be an ass to people, but as you know it's deeper than that |
Re: 2012 NFL Free Agency Tracker (Book 3)

Re: 2012 NFL Free Agency Tracker (Book 3)
.......Hmmmm
Well, they do have Tim anchoring the Punt team. They do have that working for them.... It should be ok after all....Good on you Rex. |
Re: 2012 NFL Free Agency Tracker (Book 3)
It's suprising to me that there are no teams that are willing to give Ryan Torrain a chance.

Re: 2012 NFL Free Agency Tracker (Book 3)
RBs are seriously devalued these days.

Indeed. An effect of pass oriented offenses dominating the league? |
Re: 2012 NFL Free Agency Tracker (Book 3)
and they dont last very long taking all those hits
|
Re: 2012 NFL Free Agency Tracker (Book 3)
If a RB last longer than 8 years thats considered a long time in todays game.

Which is why I'm shocked the Vikings threw the type of coin at a 27 year old back like they did. |
