Yeah, I think he would be a decent pick up. Coverage wise I think he is ok, but as a returner he is all pro.

Dallas signed WR Anthony Armstrong yesterday.

He's trying to get signed by every team in the league apparently.

Sign McKelvin, move Hall to safety full time and use crawford as the 3 CB. Merriweather, Hall, McKelvin, Wilson and Crawford as the nickel.

Then sign Andre Johnson as RT and focus on our own UFA's.

I think I am good with that.

And draft a FS to replace Hall when he gets old, so we're not stuck with a Madieu Williams again.

Yeah, I don't think you just move a Pro-Bowl tackle to other side just because. Trent will hopefully end his career right where he is.

Well if Roberts knee is as bad as some reports have said, he maybe out for a good portion of next season. So, I can wait.

As for the Leodis McKelvin speculation, he's better than most of our secondary players, but thats not saying much. Maybe we move him to FS or something? I don't know. Like someone else said, I'd rather have Byrd if he is available.

This is assuming McKelvin doesnt resign with buffalo. The past couple years, it seems the vast majority of the good free agents resigned with their own teams. I'm not getting excited about any free agents until i hear they are actually in talks with the redskins.

RGIII is a big reason we've all been thinking other players would want to come here, and he'll probably be inactive most, if not all, of next year. So that may remove an incentive for players to want to come here, too.

Andy Reid humor in his Chiefs press conference:

“I have looked at the roster and there are some good football players on this football team,” Reid said. “The quarterback position, I’m going to dig in and look at that and we’ll build that thing. We’ll see how that whole thing builds out. I need to spend some time working at it, though. I’ve got to find that next Len Dawson, doggone it. It might be right here, it might not.”

My vote for a FA replacement for London Fletcher when he retires.

But he'd get a big fine from the league for his necklace.

Re: 2013 Free Agents

RG3 will most likely be out this year. I think it will be very important to build a strong team that he can come back too.

Keep the majority of our players:
Restructure D.Hall keep him on the roster. He is an emotional leader on the team. I think when motivated he can shut receivers down.

◾LB Lorenzo Alexander – Keep
◾WR Brandon Banks –Cut
◾NT Chris Baker – Keep on the cheap.
◾TE Chris Cooley – Cut
◾TE Fred Davis – Keep if we can.
◾DE Kedric Golston – Cut
◾CB Cedric Griffin – Keep may be better in year 2
◾QB Rex Grossman – Keep we don't need any change at this position.
◾LB Rob Jackson – May be a great trading tool after his performance. Keep- I wonder if he can learn the MLB position
◾S Tanard Jackson – Keep- He has talent and will come cheap
◾G Kory Lichtensteiger – Keep
◾TE Logan Paulsen – Keep especially if we lose Fred D
◾P Sav Rocca – keep
◾LS Nick Sundberg – keep
◾FS Madieu Williams – cut
◾LB Chris Wilson – cut
◾FB Darrel Young – Keep

Key targets free agents
Jairus Byrd- Great safety getting him would make Tanard optional
Brent Grimes - I am tired of seeing Wilson getting burned

What's the status of Byrd's talks with the Bills? Months ago they were at the table and I read that he was hinting wanting to look around at his other options.

He is only 29 which is not old for a corner but not sure if he would be worth the amount you would have to pay to get for him even with his injury.

Grimes will be 30 to start the season, but he's only played 5 years in the league, so treat him as a 27-28 year old. I'm not too concerned with the age of him because his body's still fresh (other than his torn Achilles he suffered back in week 1 which he should be good to go by training camp). I'm pretty sure the packers signed woodson when he was 30, and that worked out just fine.

Yes, to your second point of if we don't re-sign fred. Cook and Keller are great second options and are great receiving TEs. Draft wise their are lots of TEs to be had from the late first to the 7th round.

Smoot already gave you guys a good tip, McKelvin, who will be alot more reasonable.

Byrd is not going to happen unless the skins want to make him the highest paid safety in NFL history.... I believe the bills can still tag him if they get nervous. He is one of the top 2 or 3 FA period, we don't have the cap space for someone like him.

I know that Brent Grimes doesn't fit their current age range for targeted free agents. I just feel that whom ever we do bring in needs to be a strong cover guy to balance out Wilson/ Hall propensity to gamble.

I think we have a great chance of obtaining Byrd if he doesn't get tagged. The fact that we are now a playoff caliber team will be a factor. I also think the RG3 effect will be a factor for free agents now wanting to come to DC.

Re: 2013 Free Agents

Call me crazy but I'd bring LaRon back now that he's apparently healthy. He missed the team bus in Week 17 and had his snaps limited by the tattooed whale, so he's probably open to leaving New Jersey.

LaRon Landry - New York Jets - 2013 Player Profile - Rotoworld.com
Impending free agent SS LaRon Landry was limited to 35-of-58 snaps in the Jets' finale as punishment for missing the team bus.

It's notable because Landry had missed only 25 snaps all season coming into Week 17, and is a rare instance of a Jets player being held to account for his actions. Of course, it's not as meaningful for a player who will likely walk in free agency. Now 28, Landry expects to command lucrative, multi-year deals on the open market. Jan 9 - 3:27 PM
