5-time MVP. That's nuts.
5-time MVP. That's nuts.
Saw a list of Peyton's awards in college and the NFL somewhere recently, and kept scrolling down reading the list... and kept scrolling down reading the list... etc., lol.
Unreal. |

A win tomorrow and you have to at least consider him as the greatest of all time |
A win tomorrow and you have to at least consider him as the greatest of all time
I already believe he's top 5 but yes a win and its hard to say he's not 1. |
Re: the all encompassing 'discuss all things offseason' thread sponsored by Paintrain
Much how MLB took away Lebetards HoF vote, they need to take away this douche bag's vote for MVP. Only one douche bag didn't vote for Manning as he gave his vote for Brady. (Jim Miller)
Y! SPORTS No fucking way in hell is Brady /flips table......I'm just dumbfounded by the stupidity of a journalist that would do such a thing. This Brady fanboy wanted to keep him the only unanimous MVP ever selected. What a shame. |
Brady would have been a candidate if manning wasnt around, nobody was taking it away from 18 this yr.
Jury is still out on whether or not we made the rite move imo. I voted no on the poll question along with almost everyone else though because no one person could have made that big of a difference on this team last year.
Cant agree with that statement. Not saying we would be in SB with either one of those qbs{manning or wilson}but look at what happened to indy when peyton was hurt and then what happened to them when they got Luck.Look what happened when we had a healthy RG3 as opposed to last yrs RG3.If RG3 wouldnt have hurt his knee last yr and came in healthy this yr dont you think we would have been a playoff team?Or damn close to a playoff team? Your first statement I agree with, jury is still out |

Had to post this here.
If Peyton had come here we would be better, but there is no way we'd be playing today. Manning isn't playing defense or special teams. If you put him on last years team? We would've had a chance. |
Re: the all encompassing 'discuss all things offseason' thread sponsored by Paintrain
Glad to see Ray Guy get in there. He was the absolute ever at his position. Hopefully we'll see more special teams players get in.

Re: the all encompassing 'discuss all things offseason' thread sponsored by Paintrain
Am I the only one that still thinks it's weird the NFL announces the winners before they do their awards show? I thought about watching it with some friends last night but it seems pointless because we already know the winners.

Yeah that makes no sense at all |

I hope Manning puts a cherry on the sundae and gets a ring tonight.

Re: the all encompassing 'discuss all things offseason' thread sponsored by Paintrain
Lamarr Houston is interesting. Obviously, Oakland has the cap space to beat any offer, but the weird thing about Houston is that over his four years they've moved him progressively wider in terms of alignment. He played this entire season in a two point stance, and often in a 9 tech. That would translate to an OLB in our system.
Physically, I think he can handle playing over the tackle, but I doubt he can two-gap against the run. So he's likely not a base defense guy here. But he's probably the best available solution if Orakpo walks. Not an elite pass rusher, but a disruptive talent who will disappear for stretches. |
Re: the all encompassing 'discuss all things offseason' thread sponsored by Paintrain
Looks like Kirk Cousin and Kyle Shannahan are making a play to trade Kirk to Cleveland. Not sure if I would do it this year, but it may be our best chance to get value for Kirk.
|
I think we should not part with Cousins unless the deal is too good to pass up - which for me would be at least a second round pick. We need a quality backup with RGIII's injury history.
|
Re: the all encompassing 'discuss all things offseason' thread sponsored by Paintrain
Agreed. KC hit a bump in the road at the end of the season. Just like winning takes a team effort, however, I am not sure it's fair to judge KC on those last three games - that was a fail/fail scenario if ever there was one.
Let's get one more year out of him and then trade him for what we can unless we get an offer we can't refuse. In which case, it sexy Rexy one more time! lol |

Ahh Rex. Twenty years from now, he will still be our 3rd string QB. We will all have forgotten he's still on the team by then. Then one day, my son will ask who that guy is. And I will tell him that I remember way back when he was our starter, and my son will look at me like I am a crazy old codger for saying it.

I just noticed that Lester Hayes is not in the HOF ? How he gets passed over is shocking . IMO he is a top 10 CB .

I know NFL players get girls at the drop of a hat but seriously Incognito? You're sleeping with hookers? You don't even have to pay for it, the girls will come to you!

Those Thursday games seem to be lacking something. Guess it's here to stay. I wish they'd do away with it.

Other than not having the NFL Network, I don't get why people b*tch about Thursday games. Hey, it's more football to watch. |

^damn beast mode. I actually dont have the NFL network anymore, but the match ups never seem intriguing or the games good. Mayock is great. Looking forward to CBS, but would love the game on Friday night. What a great way to start the weekend.

I'm fine with Thursday games but I wish they would only be after the bye weeks start and both teams coming off of byes. Heard lots of former players say the turnaround time is just too short between Sunday and Thursday to play another game. |

The NFL will NOT compete with high schools and colleges on football. They've stated as much and it's the right move. This will not change. |
