This talk of Illuminati control of the NFL is crazy! Get out your tinfoil hats!
Everyone knows that the NFL is controlled by Punxsutawney Phil, our Great Rodent Overlord, who also controls presidential elections. |

In case you are confused as usual, I was recently pointing out RG3 is consistently injured. 2009 (college) - ACL, missed remaining 9 games that season. 2010-2011(college) injury free. 2012(nfl) - missed one game with concussion, missed one game ACL, played hurt remainder of season and blew knee out the last game. 2013(nfl) - wore brace and played hurt until benched the last 3 games of the season. 2014(nfl) - dislocated ankle in 2nd game. Currently benched. How would you describe this injury history? |

Re: Skins vs. Eagles Post-Game
Haven't had a chance to get in here and post but I liked what I saw from Sundays game.
All the talk about the fight and Baker being ejected actually made me happy. It showed the rest of the league we're not just some team that's going to be walked on. The eagles came into this year thinking they had the division wrapped up and they got a serious gut check last sunday. It felt like I was watching and old school redskins vs eagles game where they're out there beating each other up. Whoever comes out of this division is going to be a battle-hardened group of guys who earned their place. Baker is now one of my favorite players. Finally somebody who's going to go out there and stick it to the other team. With guys like him and T.Williams forcing the other guys to step up and have some pride I think we're going to see an improvement. |

Re: Skins vs. Eagles Post-Game
Troy Vincent, Vice President of Football Operations for the NFL:
"Baker didn’t do anything wrong with that hit.... He didn’t hit him in the head. He didn’t hit him in the neck. We looked at it. I looked at it very closely. He’s not going to be fined for that" That should put an end to that debate. Baker did nothing wrong. Wish the league would fine he refs. What a garbage call that was. The flags didn't even come out until the fight broke out. Peters should have been flagged, ejected, and fined - nothing else. |
Re: Skins vs. Eagles Post-Game
So tired of all the needless flags. Let them play.

Let's wait for Cousins to win 2 games in a row first. Hold on to RG3 in the meantime. If he switches and he does not win? What you think is gonna happen next?

RG3 is just not gonna get it. He's an athlete trying to play quarterback. That doesn't last. As we see with most athletes trying to play quarterback they usually don't have the mental capacity to last long in the league. Cousins may not be as athletic but he has the intelligence to succeed long term. and now we wait |

and now we wait
Got it! Cousins is smarter than Robert (in your opinion). I think they should have never picked RG3. Shannahan should have just went with the QB he wanted, Grossman. But I will make one prediction. RG3 will be the only QB to lead the Redskins to the playoffs for a long while. Jay Gruden won't see the playoffs without Robert at the helm. It's easy to scheme QBs like Cousins and use athletic defensive players to put him in compromising positions. |

Do you think Andy Dalton was more like Griff or KC? |
Re: Skins vs. Eagles Post-Game
Andy Dalton is Andy Dalton. Cincinnati is not DC. By the way, Dalton seems to be a lot more effective under Hue Jackson than Gruden. Coming out of college Dalton was graded a lot higher. Dalton was an early second round pick. Cousins a 4th rounder. Dalton was a proven winner in college. Cousins not so much. He can replace RG3 but he better win. The 4th quarter against the eagles raised some eye brows.
Joe Thiesmann swore by Beck the same way. Theismann reviews John Beck’s early practices - DC Sports Bog - The Washington Post |

Baker grabbed the face mask of a guy throwing punches at him, but otherwise did nothing wrong. Ejecting him was a bad decision. |

Re: Skins vs. Eagles Post-Game
Everyone was high on Beck in practice. Players, Coaches, Media, everyone.
The problem was he crapped his pants on game day. Theisman said he looked good in practice. Which matches pretty much everyone's thoughts that watched him... I also enjoy watching people make proclamations about Dalton under a new coach 3 games into the season. Or Cousins for that matter. |

Lets atleast get halfway through the season before we start sending anyone to the pro-bowl. However (lol), I remember alot of people "scoffing" at the idea of Beck and Grossman going into the season. Not sure I would say everyone was high on Beck. If they were they were probably....well....high themselves. |

If they were they were probably....well....high themselves.
Yeah, well that's fair. There are always people on both sides. But I specifically remember Cooley discussing Beck as one of the first topics when his radio show happened and his cohosts were picking his brain on some of the recent Redskins cluster f***s while Cooley was on the roster. In regards to Beck he essentially said he was great in practice. Everyone on the field felt confident that Beck was the starter-to-be. They loved the way he handled himself, the way he practiced, etc. That includes players and coaching staff. Which is why... at 3-1... with Grossman having a bad game... Shanahan brought Beck out for the second half against the Eagles (I was at that game... what an awful game... Rex threw like 3 picks in the first half...) and when Beck took the field... according to Cooley, everyone was like... "What the f*** is this... what is wrong with him..." He looked lost, confused, terrified. He ran around and just dumped the ball off every play. They gave him a few more shots and finally everyone realized... this guy sucks, he's good in practice but he cannot handle the real thing. And so ended the John Beck Experiment :( |
Re: Skins vs. Eagles Post-Game
Was probably the worst qb play i have ever seen at that level. I dont think he ever attempted a pass more than 7 yards. That was a very dark period of Redskins History.
|
Re: Skins vs. Eagles Post-Game
yeah... one of many...
I generally hate reading all the pessimism about this team... but when you go over the recent history and see how many proposed upswings turned out to be completely hollow and eventually lead to the team being a laughing stock again, it's hard to blame anyone. i just hope between cousins and griffin we've found a franchise qb. if not i don't know how i'll get out of the pending depression... |
Re: Skins vs. Eagles Post-Game
Cousins and Griff have already done so much more than Beck. It is not just the Redskins that propose upswings. Every year before every season every fanbase is excited about their season. Lol. I listen to Sirius NFL channel, and the hosts and callers (before the season starts) are ready for a huge year. This preseason seemed especially ridonkulous with hype. I remember several times thinking "wow according to these guys there isnt going to be one team that misses the playoffs this year".

Re: Skins vs. Eagles Post-Game
John Beck is among my least favorite Redskins of all times. Acted all high and mighty because he "led" lockout practices. If Rex hadn't caught pneumonia, he may have never gotten his chance at all and we'd never have had to deal with that awful stretch of him playing QB
But that's in the past |
