Bottom line is this is a under manned team guys. We can bitch and moan and complain all we want but even with everyone healthy this was a 50 /50 game. Let's somehow beat Tampa Bay next week to get back to 3-4. If we lose to those bums next week then all hell will break loose.
The thing with KC is his turnovers seem to come at the absolute worst time. The first pick to Revis completely changed the momentum of the game. That was 100 percent on him as Revis passed off Garçon and all he had to do was throw it to him. Instead he threw it to the outside, same as last week and Revis jumped it.

I was expecting some turnovers this year from KC, but what has surprised me is he's been a little bit inaccurate this year. He's missing or throwing behind guys it seems all year long.

Right now with KC we just see the same mistakes. If he doesn't have a running game, as NC Skins said, " he's as useless as a broke dog dick."
KC could be useful if he could make short/medium passes; even without much of a running game. Unfortunately he cannot make those throws, which is ridiculous because the o-line is doing a much better job in pass blocking.

I'm still puzzled about the running game, honestly aside from the St. Louis' game, both Jones and Morris have not done well at all. Today it seems that the Jets d-line kept getting penetration during the running plays.

Given our track record against rookie QBs, it is already not looking good.

Cousins had a bad game, what bothers me most is the D letting all this RB's run loose for over 100+ yards again, that needs to be fixed.

Scoring TDs, instead of field goals, in the first half helps with that. But yeah that is a concern, although Ivory and Freeman are two very good RBs.

You are the one who bought up a "fans" perspective on the team. I was merely defending a "fans" decision to change his opinion of his team after seeing the shitshow today.
So the Bucs game is a win in your opinion? My opinion is we are not good ....at all.
Also you keep saying "based on one game". Where have you been for the last 20 years?

Teams know how to play us, especially with the injuries on offense. Stack the box and make us throw. I agree that the defense getting torn up on the ground is a bit more troubling.

Re: Redskins v. Jets Gameday Thread

We are still rebuilding guys. We are many key pieces short. I give credit for the coaches and players for making this a solid game for two and half quarters. We all know that the better teams are able to make adjustments that hit our deficiencies (KC hitting a wide open Revis at our 19 yd line didn't help nor did the d letting Fitzpatrick convert a critical third down with his legs and another scramble for a TD).

People buy into the bs "teams in the right direction" man f that shit we've heard that for years. Most just won't admit that they are rooting for a loser, the redskins are now in the browns category, yeah they have 3 rings blah blah that was damn near 30 years ago. Nobody cares about that anymore, u look around the nfc east and as bad as it is this yr we should have had a chance and we don't because it never changes. Yeah I'm a fan but I'm not as big of a fan as I once was because until I see back to back winning seasons I don't buy what they are selling.
I did not see the game. How did the o-line do?
Pass blocking was fine most of the game, Cousins had all the time in the world to underthrow his receivers. Of course there was more pressure in the second half once we fell behind.

A couple of high snaps from LeRibeus and a false start.

Run blocking was horrible, as was the running game in general.

SFREDSKIN 10-18-2015 04:54 PM

Re: Redskins v. Jets Gameday Thread

LeRibeus did a decent job, had a delay of game penalty. Nsekhe held his own, 1 sack was allowed. I didn't hear Leonard Williams name mentioned once.

Yeah, its not a great draft for QBs. Would have to research a bit more on the QB prospects in the later rounds. I think Goff has a stronger arm than Brennan had. Teams tend to reach for QBs though. So they will both probably be in the top 10.

I think that is a valid assessment. I am curious who Scot will bring in for QB comp next year. I hear a lot clamoring for drafting a QB but I think if you got a quality veteran back there that can make accurate short and middle distance routes we win this game. I only say a veteran as I haven't watched any of the potentially draftable (is that even a word?) qb.

Yup. Its sad but true. We have gotten our asses kicked twice this year. Put up a clunker against a bad dolphins team and we are 6 games into the season. If thats the rite direction than our compass is broken.

Yep if it wasn't for that miracle run with Rg3 we would have finished like 7 straight years last in the east. Let that sink in btw folks, this sorry ass team has finished 6 of the last 7 in last lol.

If not for the injuries, we could be doing better. Missing 7 players doesn't help, 8 if you count Gallette.

I'd say the kid from Penn State might be best pro prospect in the draft. Connor Cook does nothing for me. Even if Goff has a better arm he's a pile of sticks. There is no way he can survive and NFL season. And did you see his 5 int game the other week? Kid needs to stay in school in the worst way. He is not ready for the NFL.

Re: Redskins v. Jets Gameday Thread

I am amazed at how many people can not see how much the team has improved since last year. Moses has 6 career starts and that was the most on the o-line. They are on the 4th TE, both starting DB's and safety is out, and your primary WR has been out all season with a hamstring injury.

I do not care if KC threw two INT today, he is auditioning for his job next year.

Going into the season, everybody agreed this was a 6 or 7 win team. They are still on pace to reach 6 or 7 wins.

SFREDSKIN 10-18-2015 05:12 PM

Re: Redskins v. Jets Gameday Thread

If there's one good thing to come out of this injuries, the backups are getting experience giving us more depth and the coaches are seeing some of this backups are better than starters.

Breeland is our best CB

Jarrett is doing a solid job

Crowder

Long

And today LeRibeus and Nshekeh did a decent job.

I would love to see Breeland, Culliver and Jarrett as our CB's.

Yeah, I wouldn't draft him on the 1st but it could change. He plays in a pro style offense, has been well coached and most important WINS. Who would be your choice for QB to be drafted since you don't like any of them.

Personally, I think that's been the plan all along. I bet we'll be on the market for a FA bridge QB this offseason too.

One guy who has always been good is Matt Hasselbeck. Isn't he a free agent this year? Don't laugh at me but I know he is going to turn 40 this year but he hasn't had major injury and when you said a FA Bridge QB, I immediately thought of him. He has played very well filling in for Andrew Luck and i bet he could do a fine job starting one season, or as needed. Having my doubts if KC is the long term answer but either way i think he is in the mix next year...

I didn't mean have him has the QB of the future - but he has shown through his career that he has been able to bridge the gap between the present, and until the future QB is ready. He would be a solid and dependable until your new guy is ready...

KC will be the QB next year, he is the bridge QB. We will most likely draft a QB. Unfortunately next year is a weak QB class.

Unless we trade for a veteran QB like Matt Stafford, KC will return as the starter.

Qbs I'd take over KC
Not counting the elite guys (brady rodgers)

Big Ben
Romo
Eli
Peyton
Rivers
Ryan
Flacco
Russ
Cam
Kaep (yes even him)
Foles
Bridgewater
Stafford
Cutler
Tannehill
Bradford
Dalton
Bortles
Luck
Brees
Carr
Mariota

Anyone argue that?

The guy is 40. He'll be 41 next year. If he wants to be a backup, or a 3rd string, fine. But someone that age has no reason being around a football as a 16 game starter, i.e. Peyton Manning this season. He's just lucky he has an all star defense and a ton of weapons around him. Any other team with how he's played so far this season and he wouldn't be starting.

Yeah I don't think anybody felt KC was the QB of the future for the skins. I have always said he needs a year to prove doubters wrong and he will get it but KC appears to be who we thought he was.
