Have you seen him play? Could be as good as Sherff.
Not hating on the player. Hating on the pick. They could have probably stood pat and snatched him in the second round. They got snowed by KC.

For a 4th and 6th? Garnett is a sure thing, 4th and 6th can go either way.

Re: 2016 NFL Draft 1st Round

Garnett would have been there at 37 and the niners just gave Beadles a 3 year 10 million dollar deal to play right guard. Also there is no such thing as a sure thing. Again though even if the guy becomes a pro bowl guard there was no need to give up anything to get him. Most mocks had him going mid second.

Bottom line, they got 2 dominant players in the 1st round and I hate the 49ers.

Than take comfort in the fact that they basically gave away two picks for no apparent reason. Lol.
Edit: Again I like the player. Probably will be a solid starter. No doubt. But he would have been there several picks later. Possibly even in the third round. Whatever. Im excited for round two. We got alot of good players left! HTTR! (And we added a pick next year)

Re: 2016 NFL Draft 1st Round

I like the pick, and it's going to help us next year and beyond. Dude looks like a baller, and if he cleans up his route running could really be good for us.

HOWEVER.. Denver is saying they were trying to trade up ever since pick 17.. They gave up a 3rd rounder this draft to move up. Wonder if we could have just dropped down a few picks, picked up Denver's 3rd, and gotten a D-lineman instead. I guess they really liked Doctson and didn't want to move down further (?)....

John Elway said the Broncos talked to every team from "17 on" to try to trade up to get Paxton Lynch. And said the team was still "going to continue to look at other quarterbacks" and that team may still try to add another veteran quarterback.
Re: 2016 NFL Draft 1st Round

Can't believe neither of the Bama d-linemen made it into round 1. Those 2, plus Jones from MSU and Billings from Baylor, off the top of my head are still available, there are more guys I can't think of right now, looks like we should be able to get a good d-linemen with our pick in the 2nd round. We'll see.

@AdamBCC

Myles Jack has a $5 million policy that pays if he isn’t a first-round pick. So this isn’t THAT bad.

At least he gets to cash in. Dude's knee must be bad because nobody is willing to touch him in the 1st. The thought of microfracture surgery probably doesn't sit well with most teams.

I'm sure this comment from him the day before the draft didn't help.

Re: 2016 NFL Draft 1st Round

hope we can still get a good D -linemen , like doctson alot but we need so much help on our D-LINE, anyone hear any rumblings who we might take when our pick is do?

Re: 2016 NFL Draft 1st Round

I think someone will fall to us but I worry there will be a huge run on DTs since so many fell.

Re: 2016 NFL Draft 1st Round

Revised mock i saw has us taking Austin Johnson. DT from Penn State. Yeah though there are a ton of really good ones going before us. Still wondering if we trade down?

TheMalcolmConnection 04-29-2016 10:28 AM

Re: 2016 NFL Draft 1st Round

I think with the first round DTs falling, we need to pick at our spot unless they're all gone. These are immediate impact guys (or should be) and I DO want us trading back, but this is a lot of first round talent still left on the board.

i'd like 2 DL guys today. that'd be pretty ideal.

Maybe I'm just an old grump, but I still don't understand why some of these guys just don't stay off social media. Because of Twitter, Tunsil just costed himself millions of dollars. All social media can do is hurt you so why do it?

Miami Dolphins executive Vice President of football operations Mike Tannenbaum said Laremy Tunsil had an allergic reaction and is unable to attend his introductory press conference right now. Tannenbaum said the organization feels "comfortable" with Tunsil as a player and person.

Ha, what a mess.
