Re: Redskins Training Camp '16
What statement did the addition of Cullen Jenkins to the roster make?
Is it more about Stephen Paea or the fact Matt Ioannidis has been a ghost in camp so far? I was fairly surprised with the quick addition of Jenkins. |
Re: Redskins Training Camp '16
More about Paea I'm guessing, he's been a flop.

Yeah, you know its not out of the realm of possibility he could be a cut. It would be a beautiful thing if we could move a Toler, Paea, or Riley for a piece such a solid RB2 or a backup pass rusher. Hell I think Paulson could be on a 53 man roster. |

Re: Redskins Training Camp '16
Riley was just terrible. Paea didn't earn his contract at all. Probably should have been cut last year. He was a non-factor to say the least.
|
Re: Redskins Training Camp '16
Redskins released ILB Perry Riley and DE Stephen Paea.
Riley struggled to come back from December foot surgery and ended up losing his job to Mason Foster. Set to earn $4 million, he cost too much to keep around as a backup. Paea spent most of training camp with the third-team defense. good call SFredskin |

DL really is the group we need to improve. |

Well from what Keim has hinted at is the Skins are really high on Anthony Lanier...He might make the team as a rotational piece to develop on the D-Line. |
Re: Redskins Training Camp '16
Riley was just an average player for us. Couldn't cover a TE for shit. Paea was just a terrible FA pick.

With Jenkins signing as Paea's replacement, they risk losing Lanier after he gets waived so they can put him in the PS. I don't think they will cut Ioannidis, but anything is possible, that's the only way Lanier makes the team. |

Ioannidis has been a ghost this camp. Ive haven't heard his name called once |

We are paper thin at RB. I hope they are watching out for Ronnie Hillman. Is there anyway Denver cuts him? He might be better than anyone we currently have on our roster. |
Re: Redskins Training Camp '16
there have to be better guys available, we'll find one.

Doesnt suck too bad as he hadnt shown anything yet in pre season. I just wanted to see him in open space this season |
Re: Redskins Training Camp '16
anybody have thoughts about the Vinston Painter (OG) pick up?
is he capable of playing C or T ? if they picked him up this late, I'm assuming he's viewed as an upgrade and has potential to make the roster. With Scherff, Long, Lauvao & Arie...it seems pretty full already at G. Just wondering how that plays into the final 53. |

The first preseason game where Riley was standing 4 yards out of bounds in the end zone covering a receiver was just too much. I literally laughed out loud thinking wtf. Not sure what coverage they were in but I have never heard of one where the defender runs out of bounds He has been a class act and good guy but he had uncanny opposite football instincts. His first step on a play was rarely in the right direction. These are both really good moves. |

Lanier has outperformed Ionnidis in the preseason games and it hasn't even been close, but what we see is only part of the equation. |
Re: Redskins Training Camp '16
Why isn't anyone talking about Doctson ready to play in week 1 and most likely the last preseason game? It's finally time to see what this guy can do.

He's still on pup, he says he's ready, team says he's close.

Re: Redskins Training Camp '16
I really liked this Jay Gruden quote on Robert Kelley: "[He] made great cuts, had great vision, we could see that on the inside runs and some of the outside runs he had good patience, protected the ball and he’s caught the ball well. But the big thing with him is how quickly he picked up the protections. That’s not easy for a back. There is so much, they have to listen to the quarterback and the center and we change them at the line often and he’s got to be on top of his game and he’s been that.”
It looks like we have another scouting find in Robert Kelley. He already looks like an experienced NFL RB to me and he's only going to get better. |

marc sessler reporting that the cowboys are receiving calls about dealing mcfadden.
he went on to mention one of those calls may have been from the redskins. please oh please do not let us acquire mcfadden, no matter the price. he's garbage. |

I don't think we're in a spot to be too picky. We could definitely use a veteran in the rotation. |

there is no way the Cowboys will trade him to a conference rival

i don't think he's any better than kelly. keep in mind the line he was playing behind last season. even if we signed him off the street, i still wouldn't like it. i wasn't opposed to adding a veteran, i just wanted it to be forte or foster, someone in that class.
there is no way the Cowboys will trade him to a conference rival
why not? |
Re: Redskins Training Camp '16
This can't be right, it says we only have $3.7Million in cap space room after the cuts.

Re: Redskins Training Camp '16
Does anyone know if tonight's game will be broadcast on NFL network. I live outside the area and was expecting to have to wait until Saturday to watch the replay.
Redskins.com is saying it will be broadcast live, can someone help me. |
Re: Redskins Training Camp '16
Everytime I think this defense can take the next step things go sideways....Gallette injury, Paea injury/underperforms, Hatcher retires, Knighton migraines.
Gonna need help from our offense to keep teams from running all over us and need help from scheme to get that pass rush. Gonna need to play some complementary football. |

my samsung smart tv has apps for mlb and nba, but not the nfl. i don't have nfl network but i have the nfl game pass free trial for 2 more days.
i would have streamed it directly on my smart tv but that's not possible. i would need to stream it on a separate device and run the hdmi to the tv. i only have one such device, the one i'll be using to draft tonight. fantasy draft > 4th presaeson game. |
