Re: Josh Rosen Trade Rumors: Redskins Have 'Openly' Discussed QB If Made Available
I wonder if Jay has any pull on who his QB is, I mean this guy has not had much help from the fucking F/O. Let Kirk walk, get Alex who really never fit the system Jay loves to run. Now you go out and trade for a career back-up who had a miracle 2017 season that really was just an Avg year for 90% of the QB's. It seems like they really want to set Jay up for failure. Jay said he knows the urgency in finding a QB, and Bruce says "we are ok with Case and Colt"
Finlay said on today's podcast that Jay is feeling the pressure and expects him to unload this year about the player selection and acquisition dysfunction in the front office. The gist was, if Jay is going out, he isn't going to take the blame for all the FO crap. Finlay gave crowder as an example. He said Jay wanted to spend the money to keep him as a weapon but was over ruled by the FO. He also mentioned a little heat with Bruce (of course), but also with Doug. Finlay said Doug is viewed as making personnel decisions without having to worry about the consequences of passing up talent. |
Re: Josh Rosen Trade Rumors: Redskins Have 'Openly' Discussed QB If Made Available
After reading up on the draft QBs, I don't want any of the top 3 anyways. Jones from Duke would be sufficient, or that guy from wv. The other 3 are just as much a gamble at a much higher cost. I really don't know of any other qb in the entire draft that has starting potential other than these top 5

Re: Josh Rosen Trade Rumors: Redskins Have 'Openly' Discussed QB If Made Available
I also hear Josh Rosen sucks, why else would a losing team that traded up for him give up on him, when his cap is still low after only 10 months this screams to me "bad hire" I don't buy this he would be a top choice stuff. If he was, people would easily give up a high first, especially considering he's a starting nfl qb. Something doesn't add up. Tired of adopting other teams problems and also paying for it financially. I could be wrong and hope I am if the skins get Rosen, but put me in the skeptical as a starter camp.

Because the team gave up on the Head Coach that drafted him. |

I watched lots of UCLA games and I was never impressed with him. He only won half his starts and seem to make mistakes at the worst possible time. He didn't have many signature wins, but he put up video game numbers against the weaker opponents. Sound familiar? On the other hand it is reported that the Patriots are interested in him and we all know that organization is among the best at evaluating talent. I would definitely trust the Patriot's opinion of Rosen over mine. |

Rosen does not suck, he had a horrible cast around him last yr. Is he an Elite QB in the making? Nobody can say yes or no to that but to say he sucks is absurd.

Not sure where this logic comes from if a player is being traded he must suck.

Collins wasn't going to play for rookie contract money, different scenario than Rosen. |

And Gruden himself in the press conference at the end of the year said communication between the coaching staff and personnel dept is THE biggest thing that needs to improve. So yea Russell is a gossip but there are a lot of other factors and comments from others that make that particular nugget believable Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk |

My thinking is if the Cards felt comfortable with him as their long term prospect, their approach would be to trade down and use the draft haul to build the roster. And after getting hammered behind that line last season, he might be shell-shocked already and I'm not sure we have the right coaching staff to rebuild him. |

Or maybe they see Murray as a slam dunk once in a decade type of player. Doesn't mean Rosen is garbage or still can't be a quality player elsewhere. |

Either way if not Rosen we know they'll make a move, desperation is a stinky cologne and this entire FO stinks right now. |
Re: Josh Rosen Trade Rumors: Redskins Have 'Openly' Discussed QB If Made Available
My gut feeling is Rosen is traded to NY. I don't see the skins offering the 15 pick for him, and maybe not even 46. We have glaring needs at Edge and OL. I think Keenum is the insurance policy for a year, then a Will Grier will take over the reigns. Just my thoughts

So the cards threw some $$ at some point to boost this fool, who cares? Lol... I'm sure he'll end up fine tho.

Every Redskins fan should not be surprised at all on this, Rosen has been talked about since Kliff got the job in AZ. We all knew the skins would be serious players and it appears that they are the main player at this point |
Not sure where this logic comes from if a player is being traded he must suck.
When was the last time a QB drafted in the top 10 in the prior year was traded away? I am curious if this has ever happened before....and for a lesser value? This is where the logic comes from. Quality QB's appreciate in value, bad ones decline. I don't know if he sucks or not...all I know is a team is giving up on a QB after a single season, not usually a good indicator that they are amazingly impressed....especially if there isn't a single team willing to pay even a first for a top 10 pick PLUS a year of NFL starting experience. There is something definately wrong here. I just don't know what it is, and no one else does either, except the Cards. Of course, the Skins could get lucky :) .....We have been waiting for that day for a long time for QB (except RG3 rookie). I think we did get lucky in the last 2 drafts with DL though.....perhaps it happens again? |

For the Rosen doubters
I must have been the only one who watched him as winning half his games and not getting any signature wins at UCLA. People are too enamored with the numbers he put up. |
Re: Josh Rosen Trade Rumors: Redskins Have 'Openly' Discussed QB If Made Available
I'm far from a Rosen fan but given our history of using 2nd rounders in the draft I'd be fine with giving up a 2nd rounder + conditional for Rosen, esp. if we traded down from 15 to recoup a pick or so to help make up for it.

The thought of 16 games of Colt/Keenum is pretty uninspiring. With Rosen at least he gives us a shot of something to build on for the future.

We cannot guarantee that we will be at a spot to draft Tua or any other highly-rated QB next year, therefore we should prepare as if we will not have an opportunity to draft one unless we trade up. |

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I think Keenum is better than Colt, not by a whole lot. I don't think Colt could even lead a stacked team to the play-offs. Unless the Redskins get some major upgrades on offense I think Colt would go 2-14 and Keenum 4-12. |
Re: Josh Rosen Trade Rumors: Redskins Have 'Openly' Discussed QB If Made Available
Colt and Case are the same freakin' guy. I do think if Colt could string together 16 straight starts he would put up some decent numbers. He could probably get upper 20's as far as TD's passes. His issues are turnovers, sacks and health.
|
Re: Josh Rosen Trade Rumors: Redskins Have 'Openly' Discussed QB If Made Available
Keep in mind Colt and Case will be free agents in 2020. And FA QBs are expensive. So, they need a QB in 2019 and 2020 drafts.
