Os (Alex Cobb) v Nats (Stras) tonight at 6 pm on MASN

Steve Wilkerson hurt a finger. Austin hays took a pitch to the knee.

DJ Stewart --- 1st round pick 4 years or so ago ... 26 years old ... bout time he either makes the jump or stays as yet another AAAA type player for the Os.

Baseballs back

tonight

nats (home) v nyy 7 pm
SF v lad 10 pm

Os opening night is tomorrow ... with a guy named Tommy Malone as our opening day starter. Tommy wasnt really expected to even make the team but now is the teams opening day starter.

Os v nats as a team, organization, scouting ... the differences are just astronomical.

Rizzo (gm) is entering his final year w the nats. No idea why they havent extended him yet.

Cardboard cutout fans or not, that is the question for the home team. Good thing Nationals went with no on that one. Soggy disaster, that would have been. Dodgers have them. Can't decide if I get it or it's stupid.

Sorry that my Yankees had to rain, literally and figuratively, on your Nats banner raising game. As for the cardboard cutouts oh God no. Id rather pretend people r there than see that. So stupid. Maybe at least ace the jumbo heads so i can pretend that they are real people.

Garrit Cole is nasty. Yankees Finally have a true dominant no 1 starter again and that’s dangerous. I think it could be difference for them.

I’m pulling for the Rays in that division tho..

Division wont be easy. Problem for me is i cant take any sport seriously. Even NFL which will probably have a full season is skewed. How can a guy like Haskins with a new coach and no pre season be expected to be ready to go? Guys will be dropping out due to virus or concerns over virus. Nice to watch sports dont get me wrong but i dont think i can put much stock into who wins what in any sport this year....

Agreed. Definitely better than nothing, although I'm sure the players miss having fans in the stands.

It’s sucks...But look at Lou Williams and the nba.

You have to blame the athletes. Too privileged, not too intelligent and don’t want to play by the rules others do.

Personally I thought [emoji189] it was stupid that MLB didn't cancel the entire season. If things get worse with the COVID-19 in the MLB, I can see the MLB Players Union recommending the player Walk Out on the season.

Re: MLB thread

Sports playing in a bubble (nba, nhl) should have a much better chance

vs

Sports not in a bubble (mlb, nfl)

of course playing in a bubble is only possible if you are doing a playoff thing with less teams vs trying to start your regular seasons

-----------------

MLB anticipates this and tried to account for it by having "taxi" rosters so teams could call up or use up to 60 players. But I guess they didnt account for the fact that if enough players on one team get it, you need to quarantine and test the entire team before anyone can play.

MLB also didnt leave a lot of open dates as placeholders for rescheduling games.

---------------

Os 2-1 vs the BoSox was nice to see.

MTK 07-28-2020 10:17 AM

I honestly don't know how the NFL is going to get through the season without a bubble approach.

SunnySide 07-28-2020 10:51 AM

Re: MLB thread

I cant see how a bubble would be possible for the NFL.

6 regular season games (all vs your division) (16 games total each weekend)
4 locations
2 games at each location on saturday
2 games on sunday

test players on wed, get results back fri ...

Its impossible .. this wont work ..

JP Finlay
@JPFinlayNBCS

For everyone rushing to cancel all sports bc of the Marlins situation, remember that the Marlins are the ones that Fd up. They ignored rules and protocols. This is their fault, not MLB, and their specific situation is an exact example for other teams to take the rules seriously.

4:32 PM · Jul 28, 2020 from Bethesda, MD·Twitter for iPhone

a tweet reply said Marlins allowed family to travel with them against MLB protocol.
If so .. as an Os fan ... they should forfeit the games. This has a huge ripple effect. I guess you couldnt prove the outbreak was caused by a traveling family member but it shows the Marlins werent taking it serious.

If youre an Os fan and listen to baltimore sports radio 105.7 the Fan ... youve probably heard young Mo call in to the Scott Garcaeu and Jeremy Conn afternoon show. A few years ago he would call in every day and make his picks on games and just talkk with the guys.

I heard this young guy when he firrst started calling in and then when they made his a featured daily caller.

he was such a cool kid, had that beautiful uplifting spirit.

Atlanta Braves ace Mike Soroka done for season with torn Achilles

Just brutal...

Cole hamel up in the air too. Call me crazy, but I’d check around for solid arms available. The offense is good enough to carry team...but you need a top line guy

Max Fried is now the only starter that can pitch more than 5 innings. All the other guys make it 3 or 4 innings before they're pulled. Most of them can't throw strikes so their pitch counts are always sky high. Season is ruined.

Braves can't catch a break.

Puig gets COVID and the trade is voided.

Hamels done for season basically.

Felix Hernandez opted out.

Soroka.

And did you see Foltynewicz? It looks like he lost significant weight since last season, like he was really sick (COVID?) He also lost a ton of velocity and they sent him down after a disaster on the mound.
