Re: Offseason: Around the NFL
I remember hearing on the radio about the time of Norman’s benching that the team told him they were going to play the young guys but instead of making him an inactive they would still carry him on the roster so the remaining games counted towards accrued pensions and/or bonus money something like that.
One of the few things the Bruce regimen did competently imo. |

According to police, the two men were partying in Miramar, FL on May 13 ... when things took a disturbing turn. Cops say Baker and Dunbar were allegedly hanging at a cookout -- playing cards and video games -- when an argument broke out and Baker whipped out a semi-automatic firearm. Cops say the men began to rob party guests ... with Dunbar assisting in taking watches and other valuables at the direction of Baker. At one point, cops say Baker directed a 3rd man -- who was wearing a red mask -- to shoot someone who had just walked into the party ... but fortunately, no one was actually shot. Law enforcement says the men made out with more than $7,000 in cash -- along with several valuable watches including an $18,000 Rolex watch, a $25,000 Hublot and a pricey Audemars Piguet timepiece. There are conflicting reports from witnesses about whether Dunbar was armed with a gun -- some say he was, others say he was not. One witness told cops they had met Baker and Dunbar at a party a few days earlier in Miami -- at which the NFL players had "lost" around $70,000. Our sources tell us the men had "lost" the money in high-stakes card games and other forms of gambling. One witness told cops the men were gambling again at the May 13 event ... when an argument broke out and Baker allegedly flipped a table and busted out his piece. These guys are so fucking stupid...have the intelligence of a flea. Fucking morons. So glad we traded this fucktard. |

Let's say he paid taxes and spent a lot, still, picture yourself owning a 3M house, with no loan, having 1M on your bank account, and being set to earn over 3M next year... can you imagine one scenario where you would end up stealing 100K in an arm robbery ? ... Glad we have a coach who looks at character when deciding on who to pay ... under Gruden we would have given this guy a ton of money only to have him serve jail time .. if you commit armed robbery you will go to jail ... I’m glad he ain’t our problem

Re: Offseason: Around the NFL
Same. I harbor no ill will towards Norman.
He didn't live up to his contract and that happens a lot in the league. But at least with him, we didn't have to worry about effort like a certain defensive player we massively overpaid *coughs* Haynesworth *coughs* |

It only took 3 years but Baker Mayfield seems to get it now:

Re: Offseason: Around the NFL
Only way I'd have AB on the team is after a brain transplant with someone normal. Or a lobotomy.
But seriously he has mental health issues (obvious when watching the Raiders on Hard Knocks), and if he hasn't even acknowledged them, let alone sought treatment, he should never put on another NFL jersey (only because it would be dangerous to him and possibly others). |
Re: Offseason: Around the NFL
Fuck AB and his crazy ass
|
Re: Offseason: Around the NFL
AB needs to go play for Dallas.
Jerry can fix him. :laughing2 :food-smil |
Re: Offseason: Around the NFL
I believe Ron can fix AB , its worth a shot IMO.
|
Re: Offseason: Around the NFL
Nobody can fix AB but himself with medication and counseling. The guy is nuts. No way I'd want this guy in a locker room that's going through a much needed culture change. No way.

You didn't hear Matty? We're already a stable franchise and a model culture that can handle an unstable personality like AB. Without even playing a game yet I might add. Yes, SFOK, I'm shitting on your idea that we can handle AB. The Patriots couldn't handle AB. |
Re: Offseason: Around the NFL
Just to keep piling on, Ron has been selling the culture change thing since day 1. How would it look if he now brought in AB? He'd lose all credibility with the locker room.
|
Re: Offseason: Around the NFL
I say we sign him then try trading him to the Raiders. Then release him it they don't fall for it again.
|
Re: Offseason: Around the NFL
AB should sign with Tampa .Brady needs him (LOL).
|
Re: Offseason: Around the NFL
We are a young football team going through a rebuild and have , I think 3 maybe 4 future studs/starters at wr. Last thing this team (especially the young, upstart wr corp) needs is AB poisoning them and over shadowing them. He needs help. He probably shouldn’t play football anymore. He got every ounce of common sense knocked out of his skull already.

Yes, SFOK, I'm shitting on your idea that we can handle AB. The Patriots couldn't handle AB.
This. Belichick could afford to take a shot on a personality like AB's, but even he couldn't get him in line after having built a solid culture. Bringing AB while trying to build a solid culture would be taking a shot of heroin when you're trying to quit smoking. |

I’ve said it for awhile now. AB has never been the same since that vicious hit by Burfict. |

Not really surprised. Feel like they do need to do something though the current on side kick format doesn't really provide an incentive to the trailing team. |

Like pooching the ball 10 yards and trying to jump on it before your opponent isn't. Shame, I thought it would have been a fun new rule. |

love the 4th and 15. onside kick is dead. but 4th and 15 would make it way more fun and exciting.

I hate it. unless you have evenly matched teams it's pointless. for example no one will try it against the number 1 defense except the number 1 offense maybe. It takes away ALL the uniqueness and chance that the onside kick brought. No i don't have a better idea -- just hate that one |

Like to see the percentages to compare. But thinking if you Have a good receiver, throwing it up to him just to get a flag might be the better play. |
Re: Offseason: Around the NFL
Just bring back the old rules for onside kicks, because right now the play is practically dead
|
Re: Offseason: Around the NFL
Just bring back the old rules for onside kicks, because right now the play is practically dead
Yeah, and I don't think it's that difficult: If you want to do a surprise onside kick you can do it respecting the new kickoff rules (balances formation not running start etc...), and if you want to say "we're going onside kick" (ie. when the situation is obvious) you're allowed to do it the old way because it's not a dangerous play. Because I understand the need to fix it but I absolutely 100% hate the 4th and 15 rule, leave that video game sh*t for the XFL or whatever new spring league will want to have a try at it. |
