Re: Taylor Effing Heinicke
I def bought into the hype. I mean, on paper...total upgrades. We knew the lb group would be the weak spot. I hoped we could get by with them, though as our line, and secondary would make up for the weak spot. But yea...its been absolutely abysmal so far. Being middle of the pack on defense would have been a little bit of a let down....but being among one of the worst in the entire league is just deflating. This is one of the worst years for morale as a fan that I personally have ever felt.
All I can do is laugh anymore. I have 0 hope for success in the near future. Within the next 2 years I can see a total overhaul (again) in coaching staff. And while it may be needed depending on how things go....it'll put us right back where we have been since like '99. I'm getting to the point where I'm really losing hope that we can ever turn this thing around. I know I'm stating the obvious here, but we are one of the most poorly run sports franchises across all major sports...and I would dare to say of all time. It really boggles the mind how the upper echelons of our management structure can be THIS incompetent for this long. Even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while....but not this squirrel.
Not a squirrel. A rat. And he won’t find the acorn. Ever. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Re: Taylor Effing Heinicke
Anyone else ready for some Kyle Allen? I think it's time to call TH what he is, a good backup. Not a starter.
Fitzpatrick should be back soon too. |

I don't see Ron benching him, he has said in the past that he loves TH and that it would take time for him to grow....

When Fitz is ready to play Ron will change his tune pretty quick. |
Re: Taylor Effing Heinicke
O yeah I agree with that
|
Re: Taylor Effing Heinicke
Im all for Fitz. Kyle Allen though? He would be worse than TH.
|
Re: Taylor Effing Heinicke
Agree with you guys - we have seen enough from Heinicke to know that he's only a solid backup QB. I'm ready for Fitzpatrick to return although it will be interesting to see how it goes with him. The offense look bland with Fitzpatrick in the first half of Chargers game and the offense finally moved well when Heinicke replaced Fitzpatrick.
One positive thing from this season is we finally found a reliable backup QB. |

A few more weeks of this and we'll all be ready for Fitz. Sorry Budlighticke - you're welcome to fight for the backup job but we need better. |
Re: Taylor Effing Heinicke
I have been a huge Heineke supporter, but I also like Fitz. Have wanted Fitz back this whole time. Kyle Allen is an absolute non factor. Heineke has been awful but Id rather see passionate awful than just awful which is what Allen gives you. Fitz will take time to get back even when he is back, and is not good enough to outweigh this staff. I don’t know if anyone is. Though the Cowboys seem to be playing good enough to keep their dipshit HC from costing them games. No matter how hard he tries.

Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk
I used to think that, but TH is having problems with basic throws, which is a problem. He's also overthinking and wants to play the hero all the time, and ends up committing dumb mistakes. That being said, they could become more run focused, but Gibson is banged up and is starting to have a fumbling problem, JD cannot run it all the time, and their other running option is a UDFA rookie. |

It isn’t like TH hasn’t shown he can make good throws or good decisions. They gotta correct that. A good coach can do it. Not saying TH can become Aaron Rodgers, but they should be able to teach him or calm him down. It isn’t like he hasn’t played without mistakes before. We have seen it. It is like he is getting worse. That is on the coaches imo. Plus what u said about taking some of the pressure off him. |
Re: Taylor Effing Heinicke
Ron said he isn't changing QB's and that TH has shown what he is capable of...
|
Re: Taylor Effing Heinicke
@BenStandig
Ron Rivera on with the @junksradio declines to give a return timeline for QB Ryan Fitzpatrick (hip). Original projections around Week 9. As for who starts whenever Fitz is back, says he'll come to that bridge when they get there. |

I actually don't remember seeing him play without mistakes. They just weren't caught by the other team. |

Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk
Hyperbole or are you being serious? Because Logan Thomas came out of nowhere here, McLaurin has become a legit #1 WR, Gibson made a nice transition from college WR to NFL RB, and McKissic has been extremely productive here, just to name a few. TH is a nice story, he's definitely shown he belongs in the NFL, just not as a starter. His lack of arm strength and inaccuracy at times are proving to be significant limitations. |
Re: Taylor Effing Heinicke
There are definitely examples of players 'moving to a better place' or improving here, but the overall regression of this team is alarming - especially the D. There's probably no example of another team in NFL history going from top 5 defense to THE worst in less than a season.

Re: Taylor Effing Heinicke
Our Oline and TE groups are out performing their talent IMO

The defense problems seem to lie in the secondary and situational football |

The secondary has been really bad. For the most part they haven't been able to cover or tackle. |

TH wants to play like Favre but he has a Chad Pennington arm.

Yeah he may have the weakest arm we have ever seen here.. It's up there with Colt Mccoy for sure. He's also a lifelong Packers fan so that just means he will suck ass this week |

I'd give the weakest arm award to Danny Wuerffel. Dude had a pop gun arm. |

DC pop gun arm club
Danny Wuerffel, Shane Matthews, Colt McCoy, Tyler Heinicke, Case Keenum, Todd Collins |

Todd Collins a bum? The same guy who willed us to a season ending winning streak and into the playoffs the year Sean Taylor passed away? When he came in, he ran that system to a T. He made that miracle season ending happen. Todd Collins deserves our gratitude and respect. |

Re: Taylor Effing Heinicke
Taylor should really be running the old Bill Walsh offense from the early 80's. He'd be perfect for that. Put two backs in the backfield and run the old school west coast offense where he doesn't have to throw the ball past 15 yards.
Bill Walsh could make Taylor an all pro. |
