Re: Stafford in WFT Plans? He’s Available
Does Stafford have a no trade clause? If not, his wants aren't very important to where he gets traded. Unless he specifically says he ABSOLUTELY DOES NOT want to be traded to WFT, we have just as good as a chance as anyone else.

He doesn’t, but do you want to take a chance that he doesn’t resign? (his contract is up in two years I believe)....it is widely assumed that a contract extension will be part of the trade. That won’t happen if he’s traded to a team he really doesn’t want to go to. |

Per @MikeGarafolo Jimmy Garapolo is reportedly staying with the 49ers. WFT Colts Rams In. That. Order. |

We are improving, have McLaurin and cap space. Don't see any reason why Stafford wouldn't want to play here long term. I'd still trade for him for 2 years. But the team can have those conversations before any trade. A contract extension is not a deal breaker imo. |

Oh for me it is. For what it will cost to land him, I'm not willing for it to be a 2 year rental. At least a four year deal has to be a part of the team/player negotiations. |

I hear what you’re saying, but I’d have a hard time trading anything of value for a two year rental. He should want to come here because we will actually build around him and already have a better D than he ever had in Detroit. But who knows? |

Regardless of whether we sign him or not I am impressed at the lack of "sources" about the WFT intentions. It is frustrating as a fan to not know, but it is definitely a more professional feel. Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk |

We have coaches and front office staffers with football minded knowledge, integrity, and work ethic. And it’s rubbing off on our players and their performance. Not a bunch of 🤡s running a circus. |

Lions trade Stafford to Rams per NFLN
Goff 2 First and a 3rd |

Watson will command 3 First and multiple other picks..
We ain't doing that |

It'll probably take 3 first round picks and either a player or future 3rd rounder. I don't want any part of that sort of trade or something similar along those lines. |
Re: Stafford in WFT Plans? He’s Available
Yeah glad we didn’t get into that bidding war. Goff and 2 1st plus some is In. sane. I guess McVey trying to shed that contract thinks he’s going to the super bowl tomorrow.
|
Re: Stafford in WFT Plans? He’s Available
Fuck it, I was worried about his back.
|
Re: Stafford in WFT Plans? He’s Available
Damn. I'll respect the Rams for that. Clear upgrade over Goff.
Already a playoff team, now bona-fide Super Bowl contenders. McVay and Co. pushing all their chips to the center. |

It is insane, but it also does make them instant SB contenders next year. |
Re: Stafford in WFT Plans? He’s Available
The Rams really don't seem to value draft picks. 2 first rouders, a 3rd and Goff for Stafford. No way.

I would have have tapped out at a 1st, 3rd and Goff. Think about how Goff must feel. For what they gave away to get Stafford, they must think of his worth as a moldy ham sandwich. |
Re: Stafford in WFT Plans? He’s Available
If the Rams gave the equivalent to what I would expect for Deshaun Watson. if Watson traded, is going to take 4 #1 plus more. Ridiculous!!
|
Re: Stafford in WFT Plans? He’s Available
And we got a 3rd and 5th for 31 YO TW?
|
Re: Stafford in WFT Plans? He’s Available
Looks like the Rams gave Detroit one 1st rounder for Stafford and another 1st rounder to get rid of Goff and his contract.
|
Re: Stafford in WFT Plans? He’s Available
This shit is getting crazy, Goff isn't even a terrible quarterback. At worst he's average.
Also somebody needs to change the thread title, Stafford ain't available no more. I'm guessing after Watson gets traded for somebody's next 5 first round picks Ron is going to settle for some other team's retreads. There is no player in the league worth potentially setting your team back multiple seasons. |

Literally an offer they couldn’t refuse. I woulda sent this years first and next second...maybe sweetener later with this years 4th. But this is a wild overpay. |
Re: Stafford in WFT Plans? He’s Available
People need to realize that one of those first rounders was compensation for Detroit to take on Goff and his contract.

Good call. McVay's star is losing some luster when he's making moves like this. Still, I admire his confidence in building a team without first round picks. He's not lacking in confidence. |

A short term win now trade. The only team out west with a defense and a QB are the Rams
|
Re: Stafford in WFT Plans? He’s Available
Rams are going all in. Lions got a great haul. I'd favor the Lions if only 1 choice. But Rams are now possibly the best team in the NFL going into next year. That Goff contract was an anchor.
My dad is a Rams fan, he is no expert, but he was right about Goff: His contract is way above his talent pay grade. |
