Re: Around the NFL 2022: Offseason edition
Tom Brady’s loss will be Joe Burrow’s gain: Bucs’ free-agent guard Alex Cappa intends to sign a four-year, $40 million deal with the Bengals after free agency opens, per league sources.

@MaryKayCabot
I'm not so sure Houston would want Mayfield over Mills. Mayfield wasn't as efficient last year although he did have the shoulder issue. Browns FO definitely makes moves though. Wouldn't totally shock me. |

For some reason, Houston doesn't seem to be too enamored with Mills, which is crazy. |

Re: Around the NFL 2022: Offseason edition
@AdamSchefter
The Falcons have emerged as a sleeper team to acquire Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson, league sources tell @mortreport and me. The Falcons join the Panthers, Saints and Browns as teams that have met with, or are interested in, trading for Watson. More to come on ESPN. Falcons, another team that has a better QB to offer in a trade than Saints, Panthers, and Seattle. |

Watson to Cleveland has legs:
https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2022/03/15/deshaun-watson-reportedly-will-meet-with-browns-on-tuesday/ Could see this going down. Mayfield has to be pissed about even a visit. Clearly Cleveland is interested. |

He will get the book thrown at him. |

Agree it is a possibility for future trouble for him but doubt it really factors in to the teams that covet him.

Re: Around the NFL 2022: Offseason edition
Of course Dallas spending a boat load on a headcase who only managed 6 sacks last year may have been the better result in hindsight, knowing our luck they will go out and sign Von Miller or Chandler Jones now.

Like it or not, you can’t come in with that maneuver when there’s another team on hold, just waiting for an opening. Jerry tried to get cute at last moment |

Re: Around the NFL 2022: Offseason edition
I thought we wanted him back too, of course it is not formalised until tomorrow so it could change. Maybe playing for a genuine contender was more attractive to him and if so going to be an up hill climb for Ron to move this team forward. Have to rely on the draft but we need to aquire more picks for that plan

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
and Smallwood seems to be a receiving back with quick twitch. Not at the McKissic numbers but Mckissic didnt have Mckissic numbers until he came here and was utilizied. I think Smallwood can replicate what Mckissic and Chris Thompson did for us in the past. its a numbers game for pass catching quick backs. target Smallwood 80 times in a season with high pct short passes and hell catch 70 of them and turn up the field. |

Re: Around the NFL 2022: Offseason edition
Posted this in another thread (it seems we have at least 3 threads on FA -- it's a bit confusing). But anyway:
JDM's deal is 2 years and $7 million. For the kind of production he's provided, that is worth it. Wish we'd have done something like it. Even coming off the injury, I think he would have been worth that risk. In 2 years (and 27 games), he racked up over 1500 yds receiving and 7 TDs. He was essentially responsible for the wins v. ATL and NYG (1st one) last year. I read a report that said we didn't even make him an offer. Bah |
Re: Around the NFL 2022: Offseason edition
Ravens signed RT Morgan Moses, formerly of the Jets, to a three-year, $15 million contract.
With Ali Villanueva retiring and Ronnie Stanley appearing in just seven games over the past two years, Baltimore was desperate for a safe option at tackle this offseason. They found one of the most stable players at the position with Moses. He has started 16 games in every season dating back to 2015 and consistently grades as an above-average tackle, per Pro Football Focus. |

Re-Sign Rodgers then trade Davante Adams???
What the fuck? Blockbuster: Packers are trading Pro-Bowl WR Davante Adams to the Las Vegas Raiders for two prime 2022 picks, league sources tell ESPN. - Adam Schefter, ESPN Senior Writer |
Re: Around the NFL 2022: Offseason edition
Maybe with a draft rich with WR's and signing AR to that contract, they decided Adams was going to be too expensive. I can easily see the Packers drafting 2 top WR's.
|
Re: Around the NFL 2022: Offseason edition
Terry has to be excited about this!
"The Las Vegas Raiders are in the final stages of trading for the Packers superstar receiver and giving him a new five-year, $141.25 million contract, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported. Adams will make a per-year average of $28.25 million and becomes the new highest-paid wide receiver in NFL history, Rapoport added." |

It sounds like Adam’s was willing to sit out the season after being tagged. In the end this was the best the packers could hope for. Carr has to be stoked he now has hands down the best WR in NFL.
