Speaking of fair (or not so fair) elections, what exactly is the issue with asking people to present a valid ID before they cast a vote?

LOL, I'm sorry G1. I didn't mean to leave anyone out.

I don't trust either one of them. It's the same story as 4 years ago, 8 years ago...it's a bad sequel. It's quite sad this is the best we can do on both sides.

But if she's as good at being President as she was at handling the border over the last four years, get your popcorn ready...and no thanks.

Given her record breaking fundraising and swing in the polls so far I'd say it's pretty damn serious.

Re: Presidential Race 2024

I'd like to add an amendment that says 3 times is the most times you can run for president.

That way I can at least look forward to 2028. Either Trump wins and can't be president again. Or if he loses, he wouldn't be able to run a 4th time. Because as long as he's alive, I would expect him to run in 2028 again if he loses.

Or if Kamala Harris wins, we can run a new candidate against Harris in 2028. And Harris is an absolute dumpster fire and will be an absolute dumpster fire of a president, so a new candidate should win easily in 2028 (theoretically, as republicans can fuck up a wet dream).

Don’t expect to talk policy and political records in here Chief…that’s a complete dead zone.

Kamala would make a terrible President. More wars abroad, green new deal laughable energy policies which will collapse the job sector, more illegal immigration cost the country billions (its proven, it’s a negative), more handouts to elites on the backs of the middle class, she will raise taxes, she is pro criminal and supports defunding the police as well as ICE, more failed policies like Obamacare ( proven democrat policy failure)

Our collective debt which has increased tenfold due to their completely unnecessary spending…with with no solutions for SS and Medicare solvency future issues.

Just more identity politics, tranny bullshit, other worthless initiatives which failed Joe Biden

Good luck affording a new house Gen z, good luck affordable rents, food prices 25% higher since Biden and Harris took office…good luck fixed incomers and working class.

Biden - Harris record is trash…it will continue if she wins

Re: Presidential Race 2024

Is it only republicans that absolutely have to nominate a centrist as their candidate? Because Kamala Harris is so far away from the center you can't see her down the line. But not hearing anything from the left about needing a centrist in their party.

Really, that's something the left says, then even if a republican centrist win, spends 4 to 8 years shredding that person too. See Bush Jr.

It's so much easier to be a democrat. The cards are stacked in their favor while pretending like they aren't. And they don't apply the rules equally. What's good for the goose is not good for the gander.

Biden eulogized a Klansman

Biden’s history of racist statements

In 2007, he referred to Barack Obama as “the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean.”

In 2006, he said, “You cannot go to a 7-Eleven or a Dunkin’ Donuts unless you have a slight Indian accent.”

Way back in 1977, he said that forced busing to desegregate schools would cause his children to “grow up in a racial jungle.”

Re: Presidential Race 2024

Trump is obviously not prepared and incapable of handling an opponent of color. That was evident with the words he chose to use at that convention. Some may not be offended by what he said, but Trump had already locked up the racist vote anyway No that was very very damaging to his campaign. Their entire plan was to attack Biden, they have no plan for Kamala where the Dems had a plan in place to take on Trump for years.

I never expected this election to turn around as quickly as it has. I had conceeded the election to Trump after that debate. But the seemless and very rapid pivot to Harris may have save the country. While the Pubs infighting prevents them from doing something as simple as appointing a Speaker the Dems are much more aligned.

Be afraid Trump Cult. The Harris train has picked up speed and the momentum continues to grow.

So, I get the feeling Harris is going to blow her VP pick. She needs the Never Trumpers, center Independents and conservative independents (who like the Nevers oppose Trump) to win and I get the feeling she is going to pick a progressive as her pick (ie Tim Walz). This would be a slap in the face of that group and I for one will change my vote from stopping Trump to just sitting out (and I won't be the only one). IF she picks a progressive what does she gain? - Nothing but loses the center. If she picks a moderate, what does she gain? - the Center and loses nothing.

Quite a bit of both Biden's and Harris's support came from people like me who were voting against Trump (which likely made up about 30% of her support) Our votes were very reluctant for her as it was and by picking another progressive (and a populist one at that) it was essentially a slap in the face to independents and the Never Trump/GOP conservatives that made up that group. She basically told us to go pound sand and she doesn't need our votes. In my office alone 2 that would have voted for her if she picked Kelley (especially Kelley), Shapiro or any moderate told me they are now going to vote for Trump and she lost my vote as well (I will sit out). As you posted she's making a move thinking all she needs is her base. She read the audience wrong the anti-Trump vote was more important than her base support and now she will likely lose. Sitting out I understand, switching to Trump - no because they're two diametrically opposed opponents. In short I don't believe you're too colleagues we're going to vote for Kamala they were probably just saying that but we're going to vote for Trump no matter what.
