He should have left the D the way it was and hired Gray as D coordinator. This defense has regressed. |
Yeah, our OL had so many penalties
we need to upgrade our LG, C possibility our RG & RT to run this zone blocking scheme. |
Re: Week 3: Redskins vs. Rams Gameday thread
I'm sure there will be changes coming up next week, I'll go out on a limb and say the Skins beat Philly next week.

Re: Week 3: Redskins vs. Rams Gameday thread
Can anyone explain why the hell do the corners play so far off the receivers when even I can spot a slant call about to get called like it did for what seemed like more than 50% of their passes?
This was a pathetic showing against a terrible team and feels very much like the game against the lions last year. Despite shooting ourselves in the foot and being down 14 pts within 7 minutes, they bounced back and should have steam rolled the Rams once Jackson went down, but once again settling for field goals and being an atrocious 1-10 on 3rd down killed us. This is a much tougher loss to take than last week because atleast last week it felt like the team fought and hung around with a good team, but right off the bat the Skins looked like they didn't take the rams seriously and never adjusted to the play calls of both their offense and defense. |
Re: Week 3: Redskins vs. Rams Gameday thread
why does the redskins post game show not do the lockerroom interview with the coach after the game anymore it has almost been an hour and i haven't heard any comments from the lockerroom yet

Thing is was Shanny so hot to begin with? But, yeah, we are finding out how shallow in talent our team is. Shanny is a very good HC, but in his glory days, he was stacked with talent, and in a crappy division. We will see how good of a HC he really is with his stint here. |

Oh god, we have to play Vick |
Re: Week 3: Redskins vs. Rams Gameday thread
i am sad. it feels like the same story again lots of off season moves same in season result. i know it is early but this is a tough lost to swallow on top of the Houston one.
I have never seen a defense give up so many 3rd in longs in my life it is deflating. IF you can't stop a rookie in this third game and the rookie has no weapons, it is one sad day for your defense. |
i'm just at a loss right now...so many needs to address, it seems like nobody cares. we are the anti yankees in that people come here to get paid...but nobody wants to play...nor cares to for that matter.
It's going to take a lot to change that. You can't change a decade or more of futility in one offseason despite what some people may think. Some drank the laid a little too quickly. This team has a ways to go. |
Can someone remind me why we're better with McNabb and Shanahan?
Because Campbell got benched in OAKLAND for Bruce Gradkowski and we haven't to call Sexy Rexy's number yet. |
Re: Week 3: Redskins vs. Rams Gameday thread
Is anyone really suprised that we lost?

Re: Week 3: Redskins vs. Rams Gameday thread
We have many areas that need improvement. The D can't seem to get off the field to save there life.
The running game and the WR core is just down right awful. With that said it's a marathon not a sprint. Moving on to next week with a hopefully improved REDSKIN team in philly. |
Re: Week 3: Redskins vs. Rams Gameday thread
Horrible horrible horrible, absolutely down right horrible.
Haslett didn't adjust anything! I swear to god that 75% of Bradford's completions were short slants after a quick three step drop. What does this mean? You adjust your defense to act quickly, whether it be playing more zone/man or just not blitzing your linebackers with confidence. We all saw that when our corners were too fast for these slants, we forced Bradford to throw it deeper which resulted in the majority of his incompletions. Why does Haslett all of a sudden act like blitzing a middle linebacker instead of putting him into coverage is some hidden tactic that only he knows? As for Kyle Shanahan, I was much less worried. Our offense couldn't complete the 3rd downs, but that comes with having confidence in your defense. Portis is done and falls down after a big gain because he's so used to getting tackled. Heyer is useless and should be a RT in the UFL, Jammal Brown is overrated and in his defense could still be recovering, but I noticed that over time he started to assume that McNabb would step up each play, which is the wrong thing to do. Orakpo needs Haynesworth, Kemo is about as useless as Roydell Williams and Kareem Moore isn't a strong safety (As in he shouldn't play like one). Landry still played very very well, but it's a shame he can't cover a quick slant. I'm sorry for this cluster**** of a post, but this defense is just so bad! I have faith in everyone of these players, but not until Haslett gets the boot. These first three games were critical in establishing our new identity and we just put a knife into our season. 4-12 is a realistic thing at this point, but on the bright side we might be able to draft a guy like Mark Ingram who at least could make up for our horrible depth. |
