TTE has been eerily quiet lately. I want some more, "We don't need no stinkin government" posts!

I really could give a shitless about this reform and the people sending death threats to their representatives (both democrat and republican) they all really need to be put in a burlap bag, beaten and sent out to sea. Yeah, that's harsh but still, even if you think the reform is the end of freedom as we know it, do you really think its worth calling up your representative and telling them how you wish someone would blow up their office? Really?

But all I care about is that at 23 and currently uninsured, I get to hop back on my mom's insurance for another 3 years. :woot:
The government is watching. Fishing and chasing women is a lot more fun than arguing about a bunch of commies in Washington. Work picked up too.

Government is the leading cause of unnatural human death throughout history. It's a shame that you have more sympathy for the rat bastards than the people they steal from.
What's funnier is they talk about soda in schools. I can't vouch for all schools but the high schools in Stafford VA do have soda machines that are turned off during the day time so kids don't have access to them. I know the Federal Gov. has commented in regards to this and I thought all schools in VA can't sell soda to kids during school hours. I don't have a problem with this.

What I find funny is take all the soda machines out of the school completely and you will see the kids bringing them with them. They already are bringing the Amp, and Monster drinks with them. I see kids packing soda cans in their lunches they bring. It may be cold but it beats water, milk and juice.

How about the Feds just make sure the law is not broken and stay out of my health care and religion? Oh religion. I can't wait till the Feds start takling that issue.
They did take the soda machines out of schools , in LA . The result = kids selling soda's that they brought from home , and the schools couldn't fund all of the after school programs < paid for from money made off soda machines > . Coffee / caffiene will be next , so will flour products at some point in time .

Funny someone brouht up fishing because now Obama wants to take that over too. I have a big FU to Obama on that. Its not enough they regulate the ocean now the federal goverment want to manage every river lake a stream. So when they decide that a fish is endangered they can say no more fishing and its done. States will loose their rights to regulate the waters up to three miles out as they do now. Which works just fine.

the hopeful pro side to that is that there will be an influx of fed money to help pay for regulations and sanctuaries. my state fishing license money once a year cant support all that is needed.

Sr. there is plenty of money for regulations and sanctuaries it has nothing to do with that. Its a power move by the federal goverment to take the regulation away from the states so they can control it as they see fit. This will lead to more activist running to Washington to get every fish they can think of on the endangered list so no one can fish for them. That's why we cannot fish for stripers over the three mile line even though they are far from endangered. Same thing with the black bass.

You have to understand, when your goal is not to just take over America but the world it includes taking over the fishing industry. Then again, the new regulation proposals could just be geared towards commercial fishers.

We all know how good the government is at protecting the fish in VA.

Anyone get the feeling the Dems are out to just piss everyone off? Do they think all the votes are with the health and nature people?

I've figured out the whole health plan issue.... they wanted to visit the same strip clubs but wanted all the women to be clean prior to them visiting. some of the girls don't have health coverage. ;)

I can remember the Kepone scare back in the 70's like it was yesterday. My parents at the time lived on the Elizabeth River and as a kid all I did was crab and fish in the summer. Then came the Kepone scare and no one would touch the seafood. After a couple of years people figured out you had to eat like 20 fish or crabs a day for like 20 years to even have any risk at all from Kepone. I remember my parents having guess from out of town and we would eat crabs and the people would start asking about Kepone, We would say "oh, its ok to eat the crabs" as we would shake now and then. It became more of a joke as the years went on and it was actually good for the numbers of crabs and fish. In the 80's after they lifted most of the restrictions crabbing was great. We could catch a 5 to 6 dozen fat jimmy's in an hour or so. Compare that with today and it would take me a week to catch that many crabs. The state does a poor job now and it could only get worse if the feds gain control.

First the health care industry. Now with the changes being made to federal student loans, lots more young Americans are going to be carrying financial debt with the US of A as the lender. Awesome decision given the crapper the banking industry is already in. And it further expands big government. Blech.

I'm all for education, but our banks are hurting too much right now for another multi-billion dollar blow.

You think Banks should be able to borrow money from the feds turn around and lend it to students for 2 percent profit? Interesting.
The change, included in the health care overhaul bill that cleared Congress last week, has caused considerable turmoil in the banking industry, which stands to lose billions of dollars in federal subsidies.
BTW, subsidies are a form of bail out aren't they? I thought conservatives were against bailouts.

If Banks can borrow money from the feds so should I and I did until Republicans decided their friends needed be tossed a few billion dollars for free. I applicate the fact that Uncle Sam lent me some money to go to school and I am forever thankful.
