Re: The long overdue nail in the coffin for Brunell..
For all the Brunell haters, settle down. Time for you all to realize he is going to be on this team. Not one single thing did he do tonight that was in any way poor. His passes looked sharp and he looked solid. Albeit against shady comp but then again all the bad stuff that actually DID LOSE the game was by people who have zero chance of making the team. Collins did look good but if you think one good outing(his only ever for the Skins) is enough to annoit him anything then you clearly have very little insight into how this team works.
As for anyone who is simply upset that we lost. You're dumb. Seriously. It was a pre-season game. It means nothing. And it means nothing NOW. They way we lost? We lost because scrubs fumbled and dropped passes. Why we lost has not even one semblence of meaning towards this team. How about using this game for what it is supposed to be used for. Simple evaluation. From an evaluation stand point it is the most energenic we've looked in two preseasons. That is good in every way. Too many nicks and bruises for sure but at some point Gibbs and Comp are going to realize that this actually is the game of football and people get hurt. Deal. The tougher camp seems to be getting them more prepared and much harder than last year. I would ratchet it even more. Obviously this group needs a kick in the ass. It is working. Anyone else want to actually evaluate the game and not crap on Brunell for no good reason?
Ahhhhh yeessssss! EXACTLY!!!! The team played great tonight. It doesn't matter what was on the score board. Preseason is about EVALUATION. If the only way one can evaluate is by the score, then you have serious issues. |

Tsk, tsk... How dare you try to interject sarcasm or humor into this thread. The epic battle of the backup QB's has commenced! No funny stuff allowed. Remember that. It's going to get ugly my friend. I have seen the end. No one will be spared, not even the children. |

Ahhh... But it can't just be any old bible. It must be King James, large print, with the words of Christ written in red. Anything else is unacceptable. |

If it was a giant Bible, like 2 feet tall, that would be awesome too. Then he could say "My Bible's bigger than yours" |
Re: The long overdue nail in the coffin for Brunell..
I didn't get to see the game. :(
I have to wait until tomorrow when it re-airs on NFL network. |

I, for one, think we would have won tonight if Brunell had been an atheist. If he had put up that Hail Mary toward the end, there wouldn't have been an offensive penalty and we could have picked up a few safe yards and then kicked a field goal. I have to acknowledge though that Brunell wasn't as bad as usual tonight, except that he brought along his usual flair for craziness. Because he's a vet people like to call him wily and disciplined, etc. What he actually is, however, is a gunslinger who throws the ball out of bounds a lot but still can't be trusted with it. Speaking of Brunell, Ramsey threw a 94 yd pass against the Cowboys tonight for a couple of TD's and over 170 yards, one of the better sets of stats in the exhibition season thus far. I wish him the best. |
Re: The long overdue nail in the coffin for Brunell..
in game situations if campbell were to go down,i'd take brunnel over collins still.i bet gibbs does too.he restructured his contract to help the team out,i just can't see gibbs cutting him.

Haven't we been through this enough? |
