Re: Welcome back Anthony Alridge.........
Unless the offense starts scoring significantly more (at least 20ppg) over the next 4 weeks vs. Detroit, TB, Carolina, KC we'd be naive to think that Snyder won't at least take Shanahan's temperature about taking this team over during our bye week. I don't think he'll give Zorn the season if he doesn't succeed during the 'weak' portion of our schedule.
If we do not have....pronounced success over the next four weeks Dan SHOULD be looking. He would be an idiot not to. I have been a JZ advocate and I still am, but...........he may not be able to get it done. He is starting to lose the fans, and I am not sure about the locker room BAD SIGNS |
Re: Welcome back Anthony Alridge.........
Sure, why not. Betts has looked decent catching the ball and Rock is a proven return man (mid-round to Low picks).
I thought that Betts and Cartwright were late round picks? If we could mid round or late round picks, wait wait wait. . . . we can't get seventh rounders. Forget that idea. |
All good bro, Robinson is the one on PS, I missed him somehow as well. :)
I really think we are covered on O-line, multiple injuries and that might change. I thought Montgomery did ok filling in, but Rinehart would probably be better long term, then you have Montgomery ready to back up C/G. I dont see us running right much, that could be a very bad thing.
Although other teams probably have figure it out already also and swing their defense toward our stronger side which we run to the most. Hopefully the pass then will open up to the right. |

BAD SIGNS
Exactly what I said in the "Zorn is not afraid of getting fired" thread just now. DS has to be embarrassed with the "boo's" on national tv. I would have atleast had a word with Zorn letting him know I was expecting the problems fixed by game 3. Zorn promised a fast moving high scoring offense and we have yet to see it. I think I would have a back plan in place if the season does not change. |

Betts was a mid 2nd rounder, I think picked 2 spots after Portis. Rock was a 7th rounder....late 7th. Mason not even picked. |

BAD SIGNS
I think Zorn may publicly have the support in the locker-room, it's clearly waning privately. All of the reports of the tone of the locker room, angry, frustrated, felt like a post loss, are indications that there are some players that are unhappy with what's going on with the team. A loss or struggles to the Lions and I can see some grumbles becoming roars. |
Re: Welcome back Anthony Alridge.........
Lost an offensive lineman and sign a RB to take the open roster spot?
Leaving only 9 offensive linemen on the 53-man roster. Most teams carry 11, I would be slightly concerned about depth and rotation. But then again maybe there is a larger plan in place we are not privy to. Have to assume they know what they are doing. |

Not counting the long snapper. |

In that case Betts hasn't been living up to his draft order but Rock has worked out well. I'd trade Betts. Neither of them are spring chickens. Welcome back Aldridge. Now hold on to the damn ball! |

I know your a Cowboy, but your giving DS/VC/JZ way too much credit. |
Re: Welcome back Anthony Alridge.........
I stated this in a early thread. What is the purpose of having Betts if he is only going to catch passes and can't run the ball worth a flying fig leaf?
Was called a dimwit and everything else. Now you see wht I was talking about was not me being dillusional. It was common sense. |

Seems like we were on the right side of that debate. |
Re: Welcome back Anthony Alridge.........
Last I checked Betts and Rock are still on the roster.
Hmmmmmm |

Was called a dimwit and everything else. Now you see wht I was talking about was not me being dillusional. It was common sense.
Ya know, you have had some good posts since then, but you are still being a dimwit about this. (i didn't call you it then, but am now). Everyone at that point was talking about what would occur at the end of pre-season. and you were proven wrong. Now after an injury AA is brought back. If the Skins end up trading Betts/Cartwright or outright releasing them then you still were wrong in that past thread, because the team didn't keep him at the end of the post season. You will forever be wrong in that past thread. Now if you want to go forward, and talk about whether we should keep 3, 4, or 5 running backs on the 53 man roster, that would be a reasonable discussion. And if i understand the rules, we have to keep AA on our roster for the next 3 weeks at the minimum, so he won't be off anytime soon. |
