Here's another thing that terrifies me about Sam Bradford. Whenever I watch him sit back in that spread offense, comfortably in the shotgun with no pass rush, one name comes to mind, Alex Smith. I want someone who's comfortable and effective in both under center and in shotgun formations.
Watch Bradford as a freshman in 2007. He was under center a lot. |
Because that means we get Okung and convinces the draft a QB crowd that we'll still get a franchise QB. It's a change up from the draft Tony Pike in the 4th argument. Those bastards have no intention of us drafting Locker next year :FIREdevil Still Locker is basically the white Michael Vick. Strong arm, amazing runner, average accuracy.
Damnit! The cat's out of the bag! Thanks Dirtbag. |

EXACTLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Finally someone that knows what they are talking about. Clausen comes from a pro style offense and spent a lot of time under center. It's really a no brainer for the Skins to take him at #4. I hope like hell the Rams take Bradford at #1, so we don't have to worry about drafting this glass doll! |

Bradford played in a pro style offense in 2007 and managed a 123 Pro QB Rating with 36 TD's and 8 INT's. I'm sorry but your friend is wrong about Bradford, at least as it relates to him under center. Part of the reason scouts were comfortable projecting Bradford as the #1 pick last year was from that experience and production he had while playing under center. |

Why have Locker next year when Canfield can be handed to us this year? Canfield is statistically superior to Jake in most categories. That is why I can see us forgoing a QB easy til the mid rounds this year. You have some nice QBs coming out of all the major conferences this year: SEC, Pac-10, Big Ten, Big 12, etc. |

If we must take a QB late, Canfield is a good choice. |

Getting tired of typing the same thing so I'll just copy and paste links to previous posts:
http://www.thewarpath.net/666823-post116.html "Pro Style Offense" is such a loose term these days |
Re: Jimmy Clausen has met with the Redskins
Canfield really struggled today. He and Skelton really hurt themselves the most I think

Re: Jimmy Clausen has met with the Redskins
who do you think shanny's more in love with/ would work his offense better with Jake Locker next year or Bradford this year?
smootsmack? |
Re: Jimmy Clausen has met with the Redskins
Well I don't know which one he prefers, and I think it's a bit silly to base on one draft on who you might draft the following year.
I don't know why we keep saying let's just go for Locker next year. All that said, Bradford showed his freshman year that he could dominate in a "pro style offene" and he showed he could dominate in the OU spread offense as well. Under the Huskies' spread offense, Locker was slightly above average. It was until this year that he finally started to get it...under a "pro style offense" I'll take Bradford over Locker eight days a week Locker is just the flavor of the minute because he's not a candidate to be drafted right now. |
Re: Jimmy Clausen has met with the Redskins
^ok and after seeing snead today, do you think he'll be good in this offense/do better than campbell would

Re: Jimmy Clausen has met with the Redskins
He's going to be a true sophomore next year..not for another 2 years, until he's eligible

In the long run perhaps. Next year? Not likely. Snead needs work on some basic fundamentals. I think he can correct some of his errors but I wouldn't be comfortable at this point throwing him into the starting lineup on opening day 2010. Snead had a strong weekend but it's just the combine. We (I) shouldn't get too carried away quite yet. Neither with him or Robinson. Snead would probably be my #2 choice at QB behind Bradford at 1 and Clausen at 1A. Although Snead is climbing for me, 'cause someone here's gotta show him some love! But I wouldn't take him before round 4 (maybe late round 3) |

Barkley won't be eligible for the draft next year. |
