not to derail this thread...but does anyone know the outcome of Portis's MRI?
You've got some nerve trying to derail this thread back to its original topic! Haven't heard anything |

We've added a running back to the practice squad

re: Portis heard his groin "pop" (out 4-6 weeks)
Media is saying right now that the skins aren't being honest to the extent of Portis' injury.
2 Sources, ESPN, and PFT are saying that Portis is likely out for the year. You'd have to think so, being that they brought back 1 RB and signed another one. I think Portis is going to miss serious time either way. |
re: Portis heard his groin "pop" (out 4-6 weeks)
It's ESPN 980 saying it I believe, not ESPN. If we are, I haven't heard it. Just want to make the distinction because it may be some of the local reporters who happen to be on an ESPN radio affiliate saying it. But it's not technically ESPN reporting it. Not a big deal, just clarifying.
My opinion is he misses the next two weeks and then they'll re-evaluate |

I let it go with Portis this season, mostly because he seemed like he was a changed person in regards to committment and practice habits. I wont let my feelings about him cloud the fact that for a time, he was a major contributor to our offense, and also for a time, he was one of our marquee players. But that time is past, he knows it (Portis) and we know it. Its a shame that his attitude problems and other indiscretions make me (and many other fans, im sure) overlook Portis' contributions to the team and instead remember him because of the negative and controversial things. I guess Riggo's record is safe. For Now. |
re: Portis heard his groin "pop" (out 4-6 weeks)
It's all about what you choose to remember him for. Good and bad, CP is a Redskin that always plays hard on Sundays. He was a key contributor to the two playoff seasons under Gibbs.

re: Portis heard his groin "pop" (out 4-6 weeks)
Maybe I've missed it but I haven't seen anything on PFT or ESPN saying he's out for the year. Links anyone?

re: Portis heard his groin "pop" (out 4-6 weeks)
Latest is he's probably out until the bye, just got an email about it.

re: Portis heard his groin "pop" (out 4-6 weeks)
I think Shanahan is saying 4-6 weeks now, which makes sense if what I'm hearing is he could return after the bye week (5 weeks from now)

re: Portis heard his groin "pop" (out 4-6 weeks)
The last thing i saw was Portis giving an interview with 980, where he said he thought he'd miss a couple games, and even then he wont return to the lineup until he knows he is 100% healthy. He is basically saying he wont chance it by playing hurt...

re: Portis heard his groin "pop" (out 4-6 weeks)
3rd degree separation of the groin (don't know what that means exactly but any separation of the groin from the bone sound awful!). Out 4-6 weeks. Official now. Link coming shortly I'm sure
