Agree. Paea might end up being the best NT in the whole draft. I hope we have him in our trick-or-treat bag tonight.
Wow, the draft as Halloween.

Soccer Mom: Ooo and what are you suppose to be.

Cinncinatti Bengals: A refuge for talented but troubled players

SM: Okay, well heres a big armed QB with an alleged 10 cent head, even though his wonderlic score was above average. OH and look at this a scary 3-4 defense. Here's a nice big nose tackle for you

(Picture the Mom with a Minnesota/hockey mom accent).

Yeah this sounded funnier when I first thought of it.

I just hope we can a NT and someone on the OL. That would be perfect.

Don't see Paea as a 3-4 NT... more of a 4-3 one-gap guy.
Would be very surprised if the Redskins are looking at him.

Ellis looks like a Haynesworth 2.0 to me.

We need help in the middle and no one is standing out as an obvious choice. The ILB group also looks weak. If that's the case, OL, OL, OL.

yup...kinda feel the same way, too light. I was wonder if they do get him move him to Gholston's role and STILL look at a NT, maybe a Kendrick Ellis, Powe....I think that would be a super upgrade defensively. Paea, Ellis, Carriker up front. Kerrigan and Orakpo on the outside...wow I like that.

A 4-3 DT, no we don't need one of those. We need a true NT, though Ellis has the frame from it and can be taught the position. I saw that he had to transfer from SC, anyone know what he did?

What position would he play if we took him? He doesn't have the bulk to play end and we already have addressed the OLB with Kerrigan. It would be superfluous for us to take Bowers.

Also, I like the idea of taking Rodney Hudson over Wisniewski as Hudson is a perfect fit for a zone blocking scheme, he has 47 career starts and can play all three interior line positions. I feel he'd be the better fit, but wouldn't be overly upset with Wisniewski.

@ Ruhskins:

"In the spring of 2008, however, the Gamecocks first suspended Ellis for the first three games of the following season then dismissed him for repeated violations of team policy (reportedly due to multiple failed drug tests)."

When I said Ellis was a Haynesworth 2.0, I was referring to attitude. He has red flags all over his profile.

Paea reminds me of slightly smaller Casey Hampton. I like it.

A lot of the leagues current Nose Tackles didn't come out of of college with the ideal weight to man the nose. Casey Hampton for example was 314 pounds at the combine. Vince Wilfolk was 323 and has stuck with that claim ever since (you only have to disclose injuries not actual weight). Ahtyba Rubin was 315. Ryan Picket came in at 309 now he's 340.

Adding 20 to 30 pounds is going to be a lot easier with a 6 figure salary, weight trainers, and nutrition experts working with you

Either way weight is only part of the equation. You need strength and Paea is certainly strong enough to take on double teams.

Isn't the draft like trick-or-treat? You often cannot control or predict what you will get but, whatever it is, you hope it is good.

Gotcha. Yeah I dunno if I'd go with Ellis if character is a big concern.. Although, Paea's knee issue scares me a bit, you don't want a big guy with knee problems.

I would also argue that apart from selecting a nose tackle, we should be just about done addressing the front seven at this point. I'd be surprised if they take another LB/DE. That's another reason we should pass on Bowers.

O-line, secondary, running back, and wide receiver have to be next on the list of priorities.
