Re: Case Keenum to the Skins
Lol all of the sudden Case Keenum is a good QB1. Stop folks, he had a career yr in Minnesota with a loaded offense around him. Overall he's very avg, it won't be a huge upgrade on Alex. That's if he is even the starter day 1
Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
I think someone saying Keenum is better than Smith is a bit ridiculous. But he must have done something right in Minnesota in 2017. I mean if the team was that loaded, then they should have easily made the playoffs in 2018 with a supposedly better QB (and didn't). That being said, I do think he's average and it is going to take a lot for him or any other average QB to do something with this team next season. |

Re: Case Keenum to the Skins
Check Smith’s career numbers and wins vs Keenum, it’s not even a question that Smith is far better

Re: Case Keenum to the Skins
Keenum is an experienced backup-quality NFL QB who cost the Skins next to nothing. I have no problem whatsoever with this deal.

Yeah this is the right big picture perspective. Also, because they didn't sign someone via free agency, this deal won't count against them in the compensatory pick formula. If they signed Teddy Bridgewater say for $8M per season, then Crowder leaving for $8M per season wouldn't net them a compensatory pick because they balance out in the formula. It's one more way to get an advantage with compensatory picks: acquire players via trade without giving up much. Also, sign guys who were cut this year as opposed to signing guys who left due to expiring contracts. That also boosts your chances in the compensatory formula. |
Re: Case Keenum to the Skins
I do believe that Colt will be our opening day starter.

I think I agree. The question is how long will he stay our starter? Jay will be coaching for his job, he'll have no choice to keep him on a short leash. If he starts getting careless with the ball he'll go to Case. And then you just wonder if McCoy's body can even hold up long enough to make it to week 5, even if he's successful. |

And then you just wonder if McCoy's body can even hold up long enough to make it to week 5, even if he's successful.
That is really the bigger concern for me. I like Colt and i want him to get his chance to start... but we know it won't last long. He's going to get hurt. For that reason, i think the team is better of keeping Colt on the bench, where he can focus on helping Keenum and whatever other young QB we bring in learn the offense. |
Re: Case Keenum to the Skins
I didn't have a problem with this trade. We really didn't give up anything to note, and we got them to take half the salary.

Re: Case Keenum to the Skins
Guys Colt McCoy is a back up at best
Not Rosen???
I still think Rosen is in play. Also if it is between Colt and Case it's not even close. Case is the guy

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Trent Dilfer sucked and he won a Superbowl. That doesn't mean he was any good. Alex Smith only passed for 4000 yards one time. He played for two great coaches on extremely talented teams. Both of those great coaches replaced him because they knew he wasn't worthy shit. Case Keenum is a average qb. I'm not saying he's a world beater. All I'm saying is that he can throw for more than 200 yards a game. That only is an upgrade from Check Down Alex. |

There are a lot of teams where he would be a third stringer |
