Don't know why everyone is still upset. Synder released a 3 paragraph statement. Issue is resolved in my book. Yes, that was sarcasm.

Will You Still Wear Your Skins Gear After?
My children have been trying to get me to become an Eagles fan for years. The reason I didn’t was because of the way Eagle’s fans treated me in Philly when I brought my kids to games. Drunken fans yelled at me, used profanity, asked me to fight - all while I was holding the hand of my son, who was 7 at the time.
I could live through years of crappy teams. Of buffoonery by his lackeys like Bruce Allen, Vinny Cerrato. I was on another Redskins fan site and had over 9,000 posts. Then the site’s owners just decided to close it up. I didn’t join another fan site for a couple years. Finally I started posting here. But I don’t know if I can support a team that allows sexual harassment. I have daughters. I can’t support a company run by an asshole owner who can’t simply say “l’m sorry” for what happened. Not a perfectly worded statement made solely so he doesn’t get sued. An hour ago, I wrote that this issue might bring Snyder down. Now I think this issue WILL BRING SNYDER DOWN. People were boycotting the team before, due to poor football performances over many years. How many MORE will boycott over sexual harassment over many years. I will. ANY MONEY you spend on this team goes to keep Dan Snyder as the owner. Write a letter to the NFL and say that you love this team but want Dan Snyder gone. That you can’t support a team that abuses its employees and then uses non-disclosure forms and all the lawyers a billionaire can buy, to keep these employees quiet. This story will beget more stories by employees who won’t be cowed by Snyder’s lawyers. This iceberg will begin to rise up and show more abuse of its employees. I will not do anything to support Dan Snyder as the owner. I will buy no products, nor tickets that may go into Dan Snyder’s pockets. He has been a disaster for this team from day one. In every way possible. Now we have to be ashamed of supporting our team because of what his lack of leadership. Write the NFL now!! Let’s get rid of this bum! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Re: Will You Still Wear Your Skins Gear After?
The Eagles just gave a wrist-slap for anti-Semitism and have been one of the big players in the kneeling circus.
They're no better morally, possibly worse. I've never seen Redskins fans regularly beating up fans from visiting teams or throwing batteries at players either. Philly is trash, the city and the team. *posting as a PA resident* |

Re: Will You Still Wear Your Skins Gear After?
The question for me is whether I will ever wear anything with the new name on it.
LOL. Who said i met more Native Americans than Moseley. I meant seen and heard through the media, online etc... like we all have. Dont tread lightly on my account speak your mind. Im not the only one who feels this way on the board. Few others.
Also, I never said one way or another about a majority of them. I actually said there is zero proof either way. So im certainly not trying to convince you or anyone that a majority feels one way or the other. If ten percent of em are offended that’s enough for me though.
Me too!! |
Re: Will You Still Wear Your Skins Gear After?
Interesting article on the transition.
https://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2020/jul/20/redskins-rebrand-faces-challenges-time-constraints/ <snipped> Experts expressed doubts about whether Washington could realistically complete an entire rebrand by the start of the season. Walsh, for instance, said it was possible to introduce a new name and start to make some changes around the team’s facilities before then, but added “there’s not a ton” that can get done in two months. O’Keefe and Williams floated the idea of the team playing under generic burgundy-and-gold uniforms that just had “Washington” on them, while a new logo is designed. The Wizards’ transition from the Bullets took a full two years. While Washington hasn’t solicited suggestions from fans, Walsh said there are steps a team can take to gauge public reaction. He noted that the NHL’s Vegas Golden Knights got a good amount of feedback on each of their potential names when the team’s trademark applications were discovered. Once Washington does settle on a new name, it will have to decide how it wants to introduce it to the public. Williams remembered the Wizards holding two big, televised press conferences — one for the name and another to unveil the jerseys and logos. Williams said the logo unveiling was held at a Modell’s Sporting Goods and everyone who attended the press conference received a T-shirt featuring the image. But the circumstances around Washington’s change, in particular, could force a different path. Would a splashy press conference, for example, further upset the faction of fans who don’t want the name to change? A Morning Consult poll found last week that 49% of Americans do not want the name changed. Only 29% were in favor, with the other 22% undecided. O’Keefe said it usually takes six to 12 months for a team’s fan base to “get comfortable” with a new name. “It’s always going to be a mixed bag at first,” O’Keefe said. “No matter how well the Redskins does with this process, you’re still going to have people angry because they love the old name and the new one is new. It doesn’t have any storied history. … At first, they’re still kind of (ticked) off that they lost a name that they cared about.” |
Re: Will You Still Wear Your Skins Gear After?
If there is a season, I will definitely be wearing my Skins gear and I will probably do so for the foreseeable future. I have Chase Young and a Haskins jersey. They are both new and I intend to get my money's worth out of them. Like others I think for me the question is when will I ever wear a jersey with the new team name.
