Well, this thing has stalled out quite a bit above us. Right on the DC-MD (north) line and it's still coming down, and windy as hell. Crazy. Going on 30 straight hours of precipitation now.

It's stopped now in DC. Winds are still howling and blowing snow, but the skies have cleared. Thank goodness. I'm so over it.

The 3-6 inches I mentioned as a possibility for my area yesterday... didn't happen. Got nothing more than a dusting of snow. We dodged yet another bullet. Still can't believe how much snow you guys have, you normally don't see that outside of maybe the Buffalo area.

Yeah this has been ridiculous, been since 96 that we had something like that.

My family was moving and had to delay it 3 weeks due to a blizzard in the Staunton, VA area with nearly 3 feet of accumulation. As soon as we got back to Central, VA we got 2.5 feet dumped on us there.

Well, got to love PA snow removal (more commonly known as just leave it where it is). This morning, leave me house and try to make it to the highway, but the road is a single lane and some jackass in a 80's camaro thought he should venture out. SO he ended up blocking the whole damn road. So I go a back way to work, only to find out that they stopped plowing the road about 5 miles from my job. So there's literally 3 ft of snow covering the "road." So i say, fuck it, i'll work from home today, turn around and head towards my house. 5 minutes later some fucking idiot in a teal Jeep Cherokee comes blasting around a corner at 50 mph and slams into my pickup truck. Fucked it all up. And today is my 30th birthday. FML.

I'm not suing anyone, i just reported it to Geico and let them take care of it. It's all cosmetic damage so as long as I take it to a reputable place, I'm not worried.

The wind hasn't been bad here today and the sun is shining bright, so I was able to get the front steps, cars and parking spots cleared fairly easily. It'll be nice to get out and about tonight/tomorrow, or once Frederick County lifts the local state of emergency.

And it's snows into March in VA. Do you remember the ice / snow storm we had last March? I'm tired of this. I was thinking of taking a trip down to Puerto Rico just to get away from all of this.

Wow. I hadn't watched this. What a frickin moron. The airport is shutdown, so let's drive to Chicago. BRILLIANT!! And then call and be rude to the people who are trying to keep the state and local emergency services going because they are staying inside and dealing with a severe storm rather than running out and saving her stupid ass. MRedskins you are right, that video really gets my blood boiling. National Guard ought to have saved the dog, and let the idiots adults find their own way home.

Snow day for me today. 9 inches on the ground when I woke up, expecting another 6 inches throughout the day. Another 4-6 for tomorrow too.

Calling for 14 inches here in Lancaster. Should be fun. I'm down in DC for business Sunday through Thursday, so I'm hoping you guys don't get hit too bad... Of course they have us at the Ritz, so there's worse places to get snowed in.

Finally you are enjoying our fun, but to be fair most years you are taking it up the snowy butt.

I hate snow I finally was able to clear out my flower beds yesterday and my bushes are hurting but the worst is my Japaneses Maple tree it got split in the middle about a good 3 inches I hope it survives they are not cheap and I love that tree!

Looks like DC-metro is going to see mostly heavy winds, and maybe 1-3 inches.

These guys are real good at getting it right. At least since I started relying on them since the beginning of February. And again, I am right in the 4-8" band. :-(

You need to fix the tree:

1. Get a bolt that is long enough to go through the tree.
2. Have someone hold the branch back in place as you drill a hole through
tree were the split occured.
3. But the bolt through the tree and tighten it so to pull the tree back
together.
4. Cut off bolt flush with the nut and tree will heel over time.
