Just think in an 18 week season, this would be game 1!

I will say, tho' I voted against it, I certainly wouldn't mind the season starting sooner! I am so ready for the regular season!!!!

While houston is running down their throat, simms just said "Well some guys on the field are backups" ? Ok so does that mean their 2nd string isnt apart of the team lol ! BS

Got to listen to the first quarter of the Ravens-Giants game on the radio, and the Ravens seemed to be moving with ease against the G-men. Including two fourth down conversions on two separate drives.

We make the same excuses for the skins. I think people get too carried away with every comment that's made about other teams

If this is what Dallas is then they're 0-7 before they play a bad Jags team that they might eb able to beat. They have to be better than this.

Re: 2010 NFL Preseason

I think Dallas is going to surprise a lot of people by not being as good as advertised. I also expect to hear the chants for a new HC prior to week 8.

I have been more concerned about the Giant then Dallas. But hearing how the Ravens are walking all over them makes me wonder if we are better then we thought? Atleast defensively.

FRPLG 08-28-2010 10:40 PM

Re: 2010 NFL Preseason

I never know what to expect from our division. Dallas has a limp-dick coach. Giants have the opposite. In both cases the coach I think can hold them back at times. The Eagles are usually the most consistent because they have the best coach but they always have less talent than people would like to admit. They're a "we're smarter than anyone else" type team who have fooled themselves into thinking they have crazy good talent evaluation skills and I think it makes them end up with less talent because they cut guys too early and hang onto marginal guys too long. Now with McNabb gone (see last sentence) I think it's like 50-50 they just plain suck. Or they could win 11 games. Who the hell knows.

CRedskinsRule 08-28-2010 10:44 PM

Re: 2010 NFL Preseason

Not to make too many excuses for Dallas, but Romo was interviewed and said they just didn't play well, Schaub was interviewed and said they had a game plan and they executed it. I just don't think Dallas came in with a real comprehensive game plan, and I expect the 1st game will be very competitive.

I sure hope Dallas didn't go in with a game plan because that was just pathetic. I know it's preseason, I don't care that they lost, their fans shouldn't and nobody should take anything from it, but as said that was just B A D.

Dallas could not cover, block or tackle anyone. Basically their first team didn't show up.

Still it would be a huge mistake to overlook them simply because they were struggling during preseason. Not saying you are, but I know theres someone out there looking at the preseason Dallas is having and thinking that we'll be able to simply roll over them like a tank. They'll be just as ready to play on opening day as us.

Also I would like to take a chance to make my Super Bowl predictions. This year the playoff teams will be as follows

AFC: Colts, Steelers, Chiefs, Patriots, Jets, Ravens
NFC: Eagles, Falcons, Bears, 49ers, Saints, Packers

NFC Championship will be Bears and Packers. Cutler will get hurt and raise questions about his toughness. Bears will get down to their third string QB and loose 21-14

AFC Championship will be the Steelers and Jets. Rex Ryan will be exposed for a certain lifestyle, but it won't be enough to stop the Steelers. Steelers win 24-19.

Oh yeah, Redskins will finish 6-10 and McNabb will be a total bust here in Washington. Haynesworth will also be suspended for the final four games of the season and the Caps will win the Winter Classic 3-1. Oh yeah buy Verizon stock and keep it through January. Thats when they're going to announce the IPhone at Verizon.

The Skins might be on to something I think that pilates workout saved alot of injuries LOL. But for real I think it might of helped us, plus the law of averages says it can't always happen to us.

He has to hit the ground running in September for them to be a threat for the division.

If he does, they are the most complete team. If not, the Redskins, Giants, and if they have an elite defense, Dallas could have an impact.

Dallas also gets a lot more dangerous if they replace Roy Williams with Patrick Crayton, Sam Hurd, or Kevin Ogletree. A lot of wasted offensive drives can be credited to Romo handling a blitz properly, but Williams being completely clueless.

That's pretty much been their story the entire preseason. I'm a firm believer in preseason outcomes not meaning much, but man, their 1st team offense has pretty much done nothing at all. Coincidentally, Sandtrap and our other Dallas members have been scarce around here in recent weeks. Shocker.

I'm gonna be at that game on the 12th. Man oh man I'm licking my chops.

I just don't see how you can come up with anything on the NFC East , this preseason all the teams have not done very well ,McNabb has sat out ,Eli has missed work and Romo and Kolb have played bad so far,so this could ba a good thing or a bad thing.

Re: 2010 NFL Preseason

I think its hard to really get a read on Preseason because each HC/OC/DC look for different things. Some will scheme while others will not, only wanting to see what they have in each player first.

I get the feeling from watching Washington this year so far that the Shannahans are much more worried about seeing what they have in each player and are gauging each based on how well they grow given the playbook as their guide. I don't feel they are in a panic mode because of McNabb's foot problem thus will use the 4th game to see what progress is made by the last two QB's on the roster and if it makes sense to keep one of them on the 53 or just bury Bartel on the PS. He is eligible is he not? Its up to Beck to make his case for them to keep him or let him go cause he isn't avalable for the PS.

Some have said here that Shannahan normally keeps just two QB's and while that might normally be true, with McNabb's injury history and Rex's inconsistancy I would think it wise to hold on to one other just to have a back up plan that includes someone who knows the playbook.

As for Dallas I really feel that Romo has progressed as far as he can and I see no fire in his belly. Where is he on the sidelines calling out his fellow players, where is his leadership, I see none of that with Romo. I'm not saying that hes a bad QB but just not a great leader and thats why I give this redskins team a real chance against the Boys.

In point of fact I'm betting this division will be a race between you guys and the Giants with both the Boys and Philly on the outs looking in.
