Re: Fantasy Tips
Not bad. Here's one of mine:
Tony Romo Matt Ryan Arian Foster LeSean McCoy Jamaal Charles Andre Johnson Larry Fitzgerald Hakeem Nicks Dwayne Bowe Marques Colston Mike Williams (TB) Dez Bryant Zach Miller (OAK) (I've lost 3 games)
How many people are in your league? It seems odd that you were able to pick up Foster, Johnson, Fitzy, Colston, Charles, Bowe, Romo, and Nicks all in the first 8 rounds. edit: just checked both my leagues (12 and 14 ppl in them) and everyone mentioned besides bowe went in the first 3 in both of them...bowe went in the 4th in one and the 5th in the other.... |
Re: Fantasy Tips
Anyone want to offer thoughts on who to start:
Kitna vs New Orleans Bradford vs Denver |
Re: Fantasy Tips
Kitna. Better weapons, better passing scheme. Plus, may become a shoot out.
|
Re: Fantasy Tips
The Saints are pretty good on D this year (4th), and against the pass too (2nd). I might take Bradford over Kitna.
|
Thanks guys, my big worry with bradford is that its a rookie against bailey and dawkins. But the saints d is good too.
Overall, I could see either one having a big day as easily as a bust day... |
Re: Fantasy Tips
How in the H*** does Dez Bryant get 0.00 pts! ridiculous.

I started Reggie Bush today... for a solid negative .7 points.... Awesome. Now I have to choose between L. Blount and M. Forte as my other RB... any thoughts? The whole reason I started bush was because Blount is playing Baltimore and I figured Reggie would have a nice comeback game... |

Still need T.Jones to come through for me as my other guys underperformed a little. |
Re: Fantasy Tips
got to start 2 rb's this week. i have to choose between Mike Goodson from carolina who had a good game last week v.s. the ravens or Jones Drew or Brandon Jacobs. Any have any suggestions.

Re: Fantasy Tips
should i start cooley or Tamme at TE?
|
Re: Fantasy Tips
So which RB would you pick as RB2: Hightower v. Carolina; Torrain v. Dallas; or
T. Jones v. St. Louis? Carolina has a sh** defense but Hightower not been tearing it up. Torrain, well I think he's a pretty good back but was last week a fluke? St. Louis not quite as bad as Carolina but T. Jones a better back (maybe) - just not sure he will get the touches though he may still some near the endzone. Which WR as WR2 & WR3: Mike Wallace v. Jets; Garcon v. Jacksonville; E. Bennet v. Minn; or P. Harvin v. Chi. All are pretty much high risk high reward but leaning to Wallace & Garcon. Any thoughts? |

Your right with high risk/reward with WR. Garcon got me in the playoffs with with performance last week in one of my leagues. Id go with your first 2, Wallace and Garcon. |

I have the same situation, I was rolling with Tamme for a while and he was putting up good numbers, went back to Cooley last week but neither of them did squat. |
Re: Fantasy Tips
hightower vs Panthers; Mike Tolbert vs. SF; Forte vs Minn
I can start 2 of 3 the three, which two would you pick? |
Re: Fantasy Tips
In the playoffs this week, Torain against the Cowboys or Forte against the Vikings?
What do you guys think? |

Re: Fantasy Tips
Yeah, reading GTripp's review this week, I am not sure I trust Torrain to duplicate his 150+ first have against the Cowboys. Like it or not, they are improving and we are declining as the season continues.

Really? The Hightower against CAR is so tempting. |

yeah Hightower is not a bad play this week IMO... |

Out of the three Forte scares me the most, he is so up and down. |
Re: Fantasy Tips
Out of the three Forte scares me the most, he is so up and down.
Yeah, he really depends on how Cutler plays. He has quietly had a good season all together. His numbers remind of Jamaal Charles or Ray Rice. These guys get there points with yards gains with rushing and receiving. He is not as good as Charles or Rice, but at least he gets the goal line carries Charles and Rice dont get. Hightower has games where he disappears as well, but his match up is better against Carolina, I just think Chicago is going to play better after their thrashing last game and now they will be playin in their element in minny. |
Re: Fantasy Tips
OK one more...Cards D vs CAR or Packers D vs. Pats or or or Bucs D vs Loins.

Ive picked up in 2 leagues the Tampa D vs the Lions this weekend. Dont start Packers against Pats. I just dont trust the Cards D and on the road... |

Just beware last week the Bucs lost McCoy and Black for the season and the Loins offense is no slouch. I am going to roll the dice on AZ against an awful awful CAR O and it will be raining. |
Re: Fantasy Tips
Id take AZ against Carolina hand down all day and twice on sunday against the other two games, especially with TB really thin and wore down on the defensive side of the ball.
And if you were even FATHOMING starting the Packers defense against Brady and his pats, well, lets just say I really hope you dont. Its been, what, 8 or 9 weeks since he has thrown an INT? And their team is averaging over 34 ppg over that span?????? They are out of their minds right now. |
Re: Fantasy Tips
so i rolled with tolbert and got 10 points, that is good. So now do I stick with forte or go with hightower, so many decisions.
|
Re: Fantasy Tips
The real killer was Vincent Jackson i held him in my back pocket for so long but due to injuries i had to release him; of course he blew up last night!

Hightower with the big 5 points, that is ok I had Vick as well with 53 points. I am up 101 points with the other guy only having AP going. |
Re: Fantasy Tips
Just lost in the first round of the playoffs 106.32 to 105.08 in my pay league. F*ck Vernon Davis and his f*cking 4 yards receiving Thursday nite. Then my buddy text me this morning..."that was a good game" who beat me. how bout you f*ck off.

Re: Fantasy Tips
I am in my money league SB again for the second straight year. I won it all last year hoping to repeat this year.
The guy I will play lives and dies on Foster and Andrea Johnson. The AZ DST over Packers DST was a smart move as well. |
Re: Fantasy Tips
Just thought I'd share this week's craziness that is fantasy football:
Round 1 of the playoffs had me limping in after losing the last three weeks. My receivers suck (Knox, Harvin, Royal, Crabtree) but my two RBs, Hillis and Johnson, have carried me with adequate support from Shaub and Vernon Davis. I'm playing the #1 guy who just dominated the regular season (1 loss). I figure a quick exit for me and I can enjoy the last two weeks of normal football w/o checking up on how few points my receivers are getting me. As it turns out, the guy had TO, Moreno,Reggie Wayne all contribute about 10 total points. I'm sitting there with a 40 point lead. My 3 guys remaining are Pittsburgh, Nick Folk and Johnny Knox. He has Tom Brady, Aaron Hernandez and Chicago. I figure just get me decent points and I should be good to go. The only bad thing is if the Jets score more than 20 and Brady only throws TD passes to Aaron Hernandez...guess-muthin-fudgin-what!!! We are basically tied with his Chicago versus my Johnny Knox. Basically, his defense versus a 3rd string rookie with no NFL starts and my receiver playing in possible blizzard-like conditions. I hate (loving) fantasy football! |
Re: Fantasy Tips
Just thought I'd throw in my current results:
I just played in Round 1 of my playoffs and won the game by .04 points. My lineup: QB P. Rivers RB M. Jones-Drew RB J. Charles WR C. Johnson WR S. Johnson TE D. Keller (because of Gates injury) WR/RB R. Torain K D. Carpenter DEF Steelers |
Re: Fantasy Tips
Lot of folks on here play the Super Bowl right into week 17, ours is this week.

I hate (loving) fantasy football!
Yeah, first time around for me. Even though I'm in spot 5, so no playoffs, still playin it. Really really a back and forth weekend. At the end of the 1 o'clock games, I had JC, Janikowski and Chicago's D, He had Aaron Hernandez and was up by I think 10, after Oakland played, I was up by a little, and thinking I should be good unless Hernandez has a big game. One game and 15.88 points later, I need Chicago's D to get more than 9.25 points, and they give up a TD on the first drive, arrgh. then they got sacks/to's and were up to 10pts, and Webb runs in for a TD(really Chicago?!?). I ended up winning by 6, BUT it was a real good back and forth game! (Now I face the guy who has beat me twice, my first game ever he creamed me by 60+ points, and the rematch he eeked out a win by .32 in the last 2 minutes of the philly chicago game) It's been fun! Question though, it seems like the playoffs are a bit odd. I was talking to a friend, and thought about some sort of playoff draft, where the players who are on teams that are completely out of it can be redrafted by the teams in contention based on end of regular season. So in my league, VJax is on a team that is out, so if a "playoff draft" were held, the #1 seeded team would have a chance to pick him up. Also seems like you could have a way to make up in case you have a superstar who is being rested. Just curious. |

My team is finally getting healthy but I had 6 losses this year becasue I held on to them in order to make my playoff push; now I am in the SB. I just have to say Witten has been such money the past few weeks. |
Re: Fantasy Tips
Alrighty, should I roll with the mighty Sex Cannon on my teams with Aaron Rodgers? After all A-rod is coming back from a concussion and has a less-than-favorable matchup.
|
Re: Fantasy Tips
I'm in my SB this week with Brady, Woodhead, Green-Ellis, Austin, Turner, Tamme, Torain, Suisham and the Pats D. My opponent has a great team with guys like Peyton Hillis, McCoy, Mendenhall, Lloyd, and the very scary Michael Vick. If that guy puts a 40pt on me I'm sunk. He is the Michael Jordan of the NFL and this week he gets the lowly Vikings at home. I'm predicting a SB blowout in my league. I was runner up last year and probably will be this year. My team name next year will be the Buffalo Bills, always there but never can win.
|
Re: Fantasy Tips
Scowan, I am in a similar kind of situation. Really made some great FA moves to get a nice win streak at the end of the year. However, Vick is the player keeping me in contention. I go, as Vick goes. Recently I have been quite well.

Tough call to sit Rodgers, especially for Wrecks Grossman. Just remember Kolb, who came back from concussion, only to be knocked out rather quickly with a second. |
