Yeah Lions got hosed bigtime also with that non TD TD catch by Calvin Johnson. I guess you now have to hold on to the damn ball till you give it back to the ref. Sorry guys, but if more stuff like that happens this season I know the NFL is a rigged game.
No shit! CJ got screwed.. Dumbest rule ever |
Re: NFL regular season thread (week 1)
This is interesting having Vick come in and play this well. Will Kevin get this job back?

Yeah, that needs to be changed. Damn, Vick is going to get 100 yds. |
Re: NFL regular season thread (week 1)
I agree, that certainly seemed as though CJ had that touchdown catch.
|
Re: NFL regular season thread (week 1)
Vick has won his job back

|
Re: NFL regular season thread (week 1)

Well they were till they started playing medium.... |
Re: NFL regular season thread (week 1)
4th and one at the two minute warning. One stop for GB and they win but the story here is Vick.
|
Re: NFL regular season thread (week 1)
game over. Packers win.
|
Re: NFL regular season thread (week 1)
Game.

Re: NFL regular season thread (week 1)
Bad play and GB makes the stop.Yea time to take a knee.
|
Re: NFL regular season thread (week 1)
Guys enjoy the game and lets hope for a victory.
|
Re: NFL regular season thread (week 1)
No way Vick gets his job back, granted he played well but this team is built around Kolb. If Reid pulls Kolb in the first WEEK, he loses all credibility as a coach.

what happened with that? |
Re: NFL regular season thread (week 1)
wow... just watched.. that's bullshit
any vid of the cj spiller catch? |
Re: NFL regular season thread (week 1)
Total bullshit!!!!!!! Calvin had clear possesion, but because he put the ball on the ground after he landed they said it was incomplete. He still had it in his hands when he brought it down, but released the ball as he was getting back up. Just another cheap rule in which the refs can change a game.
|
Re: NFL regular season thread (week 1)
Ok maybe Kolb hasn't lost his job..... Yet

Same rule that we benefited from in that playoff game in Tampa a few years ago. Gotta follow through all the way to the ground. Sucks but that's the rule and it was called correctly. |
Re: NFL regular season thread (week 1)
should be the same for running.. ball crosses plane then the obvious 2 feet down
at that point/showing possession it should be a TD |
Re: NFL regular season thread (week 1)
Vick has won his job back
Yeah he looked good. I knew he'd take over at some point in the season, but I didn't expect the "upgrade from McNabb to Kolb" experiment to go down in flames in the first game. The Eagles were going to end up kicking themselves sometime this year...but week 1? Love it. :food-smil |

The league doesn't let players with concussions just jump back into action any more...could have a few weeks for medical clearance. In the meantime, the rabid Philly fans will turn on Kolb like they did McNabb. OK, gotta do it: [YT]8BTej926Pvo[/YT] [YT]kBJEfmQA9q4[/YT] |

Re: NFL regular season thread (week 1)
Vick will probably start next week, but the Kolb will still considered starter, I would imagine, while he's recovering from a concussion.
Can't believe that guy went down in week one! He's in for a long season if he returns. |
Re: NFL regular season thread (week 1)
Jets are really killing themselves tonight with penalties

Can't believe that guy went down in week one! He's in for a long season if he returns.
Certainly makes a great case for an 18 game season. With all the guys that have been injured in week 1 alone how can they think that adding two games is worth a couple of extra bucks. Also Sanchez needs to at least attempt to go deep. This dink and dunk stuff might pad your QB rating but it's not going to help your team win. |
Re: NFL regular season thread (week 1)
Shit, I started Braylon Edwards tonight! Nothing.
|
Re: NFL regular season thread (week 1)
Yeah 18 games will significantly shorten the average career span in the NFL over a relatively short time. I think they have hit the "wall" in terms of season length. If the NFl really wanted to increase profits, they should do what every other industry has done and that is to slash expenses and maybe salaries across the board. The hype machine the NFL has become is really unecessary. Rozell did all the league had to do to win over America. I think the game should and can sell itself, because it already has in the past. New stadiums are also unecessary, unless you are truly replacing old relics like the old Tiger Stadium, etc.

Don't feel bad, i have shonn greene. dude is killing me. I was tied heading into this game, other guy has Ryan Matthews. I'm done. |
Re: NFL regular season thread (week 1)
Sanchez is either an idiot or Brian Schottenhemier is more more conservative then his father. Have the Jets even attempted a pass longer then 5 yards?
|
Re: NFL regular season thread (week 1)
Dustin Keller is a bonehead. Wow.

Without knowing, I would say it was Sanchez. Looked like he was throwing short every time. |
Re: NFL regular season thread (week 1)
good job dustin keller

Re: NFL regular season thread (week 1)
And Ray Ray put an exclamation point/Jacked up on the end of the Ravens game. Well done.
Phone your daddy Rex you bone head, talk some shit to him maybe he cares to hear your diarrhea of the mouth. |
Re: NFL regular season thread (week 1)
Jets r overhyped and sanchez sucks, and this SD/KC game is good.. Chiefs are loaded at RB. Charles just went 60 yards for a TD. I wish we had a homerun hitter like that

Re: NFL regular season thread (week 1)
On a sidenote (but related to this week's NFL action)
Just wondering if people saw this article about the concussion injury of two Eagles players (Kolb/Bradley) during the Eagles/Packers game... NFLPA director: Union reviewing Philadelphia Eagles' response to Kevin Kolb, Stewart Bradley injuries - ESPN I was a bit shocked to see Bradley back on the field after the way he went down with that concussion. I'm surprised this hasn't garnered more attention in the media. |
