John Fox to Denver

Beat me to it. I think it will depend on his staff. But Elway had said he wanted a guy with head coaching experience so in that sense it's a good choice |
Re: NFL Coaching Rumors and Moves
Solid move for the Broncos.
Now...what happens to Tebow? I think Fox would probably lean towards Orton after a disaster season with 3 rookie QBs playing for him. |
Re: NFL Coaching Rumors and Moves
are there any other HC jobs to be filled (I discount Oakland cuz Davis is a loon).
How about a poll of which new HC is the best fit? |
Well, to be fair I think it was someone else (Giantone?) who said the Dolphins could be a place he'll land and I said I agreed with him. I never really saw Minnesota or Arizona as options. San Fran and Miami yes
Yeah, right, by then voluntary mod days will have started, and we ALL know who won't be around then!!! |

Re: NFL Coaching Rumors and Moves
Tebow will get a job as a QB SOMEWHERE if Broncos get rid of him. Too much talent there to not get a look somewhere.
Just like J. Russell. Somebody will send a life vest to his career. He is too big and strong, with too much natural ability to not get a second chance in the NFL. |
Re: NFL Coaching Rumors and Moves
Lot of buzz at Redskins Park that Danny Smith's going to Denver...we shall see
|
Re: NFL Coaching Rumors and Moves
I can't see Fox wanting to rid himself of Tebow, but if he does, I would not mind the Redskins making a move for him...as long as it's not too expensive (as far as draft picks is concerned.)

I like Danny Smith, i sure wish he could have done something about getting a penalty on every freaking special teams play though. Im sure it wasnt his coaching but goodness gracious granny!! It seemed like everytome we got a positive yard on special teams there was a penalty and most of them were legit. |

Can't say I'm a huge fan.. He's been with us forever but has never developed a effective punter nor a kicker and until we got Banks (a Shanny find-not Smith) we had a garbage return game. Why do folks like him, because he yells? |

He would have been a good fit here instead of Haslett. |
Re: NFL Coaching Rumors and Moves
Does Shanahan not like smith? Is smith tired of working for the skins? Why would he relocate to Denver for a lateral move?
|

Now...what happens to Tebow? I think Fox would probably lean towards Orton after a disaster season with 3 rookie QBs playing for him.
There's no way that Tebow isn't the starter next year. IMO Kyle Orton will be traded. The Denver players are mesmerised by the Tebow factor. |

Interesting. He was their LB coach there under Marty I believe. Rob Ryan reportedly talking with the Cowboys Tryfuhl-I suppose Shurmur makes McNabb a contender in Cleveland, but I think they'd be better off just letting Shurmur develop Colt. Working with young QBs is his strength BHA-Not guaranteed that Smith would leave for Denver but he doesn't have a contract right now and it's not uncommon for special teams coaches to make lateral moves. |
Re: NFL Coaching Rumors and Moves
Fox wanted him last year but the Skins blocked it

Re: NFL Coaching Rumors and Moves
Amazing how fast these coaching spots are being filled yet Cowher and Gruden still stay on the board. Looking like neither will coach next year either.

I'm still not sold on Tebow. He played a nice game against Houston but every offense did. I still question whether he can be a consistent pocket passer over a full season. Eventually his flaws will show up. |

I'm thinking that teams just don't want to pay the high price tag and I really don't blame them. |
Re: NFL Coaching Rumors and Moves
Gruden had a chance to coach the Hurricanes. I really think he's enjoying his booth job to much to leave.
Cowher has not really been a serious candidate anywhere but the media. |
Re: NFL Coaching Rumors and Moves
No need for either of them to rush back for a less than ideal situation.
|
Re: NFL Coaching Rumors and Moves
Those two guys can write their own tickets. I gotta believe they're waiting around for the perfect job.
|
Re: NFL Coaching Rumors and Moves
I think Cowher is just sitting back and waiting for Sporano, Kubiak or Coughlin to get fired.
|
Re: NFL Coaching Rumors and Moves
I THOUGHT he was waiting for the Carolina job...made the most sense. Maybe they're just so bad and he changed his mind. :D

This more then anything makes me believe he wants the Giants job and they want him ,yeah I know what has been said and I saw Coughlin on TV but I still think he might be gone in a year.....if he didn;t take the Panthers job then he's just waiting TC out. |

The first part of your post reminds me of how Lord Vinny and Darth Snyder were committed to "the process" of finding a wide eyed puppet, errrr, head coach. |

If the Giants wanted Cowher why wouldn't they just fire Coughlin and hire Cowher? If they wanted to hire Cowher that would mean they aren't happy with Coughlin, and why would they keep Coughlin around if they weren't happy with him? He may want the Giants job but if the feeling was mutual Coughlin would've been fired as soon as the season was over. I don't understand when Bill Cowher became such hot shit anyways. He was with Pitt for like 15 years, took them to a Super Bowl at the beginning of his tenure and lost, and took them to another one over a decade later, and finally won. He's a good coach but he's def. no Belichick. |

Should be Emperor Snyder and Darth Vinny, otherwise your Star Wars reference does not quite follow. |
