Shit sorry. When the bids for this first started weren't Snyder and Leonsis were in the same group.....and then things changed and Ted Leonsis was making a bid with his own group without Snyder.I think the argument was that the Bid came in a certain way...switching the majority owners should have made for a new bid altogther..yes/no? |
You use the word "hate" associated with my posting, not my choice of word.
The bottom line with Dan Snyder is the dollar. As with other owners. But the difference with Dan Snyder has been itemized by the article in the law suit. I just don't think that Mr. Snyder gives a hill of beans about his loyalties to the Washington Redskins. It's an investment first and foremost and not this BS about his life long love for the Redskins. Little boy in a candy shop is not a good analogy of Dan's reckless ownership of this franchise. The maverick who is not a maverick in terms of showing a positive direction of owning a franchise that had some moxie during the time when Dan bought it. Let's hope Mike Shanahan and Bruce Allen can restore it to respectability again without Dan Snyder's interference. So, hate is the wrong word. Disrespect is the right word in describing my present feelings towards Mr. Snyder.
Without debating whether DS "wants to win" or "cares about the Redskins", I would just say that based on my observation & the reactions he's spurred from some around him, I don't see the Danny as being a good leader. I won't question all his intentions, but it just doesn't seem he has the ability to truly drive others toward success, rather he commands respect, loyalty & complicity to his demands at the expense of progress toward the greater goal. |
Yeah I didn't know he was Jewish either, and to throw out the anti-semite card is so pathetic. Like Feinstein said, none of this has anything to do with anti-semitism. It has to do with anti-Snyder.
The Little Danny wants this guy fired plain and simple. He's got no shot to win that lawsuit. I personally thought the article was hilarious. I don't care for Dan Snyder, and I'm glad he's getting roasted for this. I know Snyder has done some good things as far as charitable donations (not like it affects him considering how much money he has), and I know he flew everyone to Sean's funeral, etc etc. But his douchebaggery FAR outweighs any good he's done. I personally don't really think that's even up for debate.
Dan Snyder has a right to protect his reputation against defamatory remarks and depictions; however, he faces an uphill battle in this particular case, especially since he is easily labeled as a public figure. He is seeking $1 million+ in addition to punitive damages. Snyder must prove that those “lies, half-truths, innuendo and anti-Semitic imagery to smear, malign, defame and slander” actually damaged his reputation and he must prove with convincing clarity that WCP published the article with knowledge or in reckless disregard of its falsity and its defamatory character. In order for Snyder to have any chance on this one, he must prove that WCP had intent for actual malice. |

Yes, ten years after the sale. If someone wanted to supplant Snyder and his ownership that is an avenue to a conclusion. Someone can always challenge a sale. |

I've come to the point where I question his sincerity with wanting to win. Sometimes I get the feeling he wants just the opposite. Look at every decision he and Vinny made. This man has burned many bridges in his past because he is a devoured fan? I can't buy that anymore. You are right, Dan Snyder is not a leader. He is a destroyer of what works by displacing it with his circus brand on it. |

Also glad to hear Snyder on the radio today to tell his side of it. Although I don't agree with his stance and it should be water off his back, at least he's not hiding and he's talking, so good for him. And good to hear him and Lavar kind of squash their fued.

Dan Snyder has a Type A personality. I'm not one to usually throw out these things, but he fits the description to a T. He's a tight-wad. He's a control freak. He thinks he could do it "his" way.
Yeah, perhaps he does want to win, but wanting to win doesn't mean having empathy with regards to other fans and their experience or the players. Hell, he didn't give a shit about Dan Turk. |

Last week she went on local TV to tell an interviewer that he is now surrounded by “better people,” and that he’s “grown and he’s evolved.” Well, maybe his wife can find evidence of Snyder’s growth and evolution. I can’t.
I missed the part in the quote he was making fun of her at all, never the less anything cancer related. That interview in question was the one I posted earlier. D.C. Sports Bog - Tanya Snyder: Redskins owner "has better people around him now" Out of the 11:54 of interview, only 3:40 of it was about the Play 60 event. From 3:40 to 6:50 portion of the interview is about NFL and women. The rest of the interview is about DAN SNYDER of all things. Yeah, the biggest portion of the interview is about Dan and their life. Nothing cancer related. ABSOLUTELY nothing to do with her breast cancer or any awareness. This is why I can't stand that asshole. He's lying his ass off trying to make the fans take his side. At least McKenna had facts to go along with his piece, Snyder is flat out lying to the public. He's trying to use his/wife's cancer and their jewish heritage as a means to gain sympathy and support. It very much reminds me of this scene from family guy. [YT][ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0YOh-rpvjYg[/ame][/YT] edit: no idea why it's duplicating youtube link. |

He's pissed at me. Look I just thought you might have had some insider connection that was steering you towards the "Company Line" stance that Dan Snyder was being unfairly attacked. Re: Snyder Camp Upset!!
Think about this, under Snyder the team has gone 86-106. That basically averages out to an average of just over 7 wins per year.
So if you don't think things could have been worse under another owner consider that during the same time the Lions averaged under 4.6 wins, the Cardinals 6, the Bills 6.75, the Browns 5.3, the Raiders 6.5, etc.
Matty: I understand the point you are making here - - believe me, I do... Re: Snyder Camp Upset!!
???...........when were they in Frostburg?
Yeah, they spent a few training camps in Frostburg, in the mid to late 90s. I'm going to go ahead and come to Snyder's defense again re: Dan Turk (may he rest in peace). Turk's wife was most upset about two things with the Redskins when her husband died 10+ years ago. 1) that while he was sick in the hospital almost no Redskins (save for one or two) came to see him and 2) when interviewed about the botch snap, instead of letting the public know that her husband was dying of cancer he said "we have a new long snapper, that won't be a problem anymore" I understand her argument that she felt the organization from the top down had a culture that didn't care about her husband so she put the blame on Snyder. But that seems like a bit of an extreme case to make. If Snyder himself didn't visit, shame on him but don't make him responsible for how the players chose don't handle to it. He can't make them go, particularly not when it's the offseason. And as for not telling the public her husband was dying of cancer; it's not Snyder's place to do that. He was right not to say anything, because he has no business talking about his employees' personal matters unless it's already public knowledge or he's been consented to do so. But for her to assume he would just be the one to tell everyone her husband had cancer is wrong on her part, that's not his place and he was smart not to say anything. And I know she was (is) upset with the lack of benefits she felt she and her family got. But that's more on the NFL as a whole that simply Snyder. So look, I totally sympathize with her and it's terrible she lost her husband and she has every right to be angry and frustrated, but taking a step back and looking at it without emotion I think her anger at times has been a bit misplaced. |

I don't give a shit what people read it as. I have a severe dislike of all people that lie/steal/scam from the people while taking advantage of their loyalties. This includes, jews, arabs, whites, blacks, asians, latins, and another other nationality/religion you can think of. I'm a Equal Opportunity Hater when it comes to people like that. Also, why is it so "taboo" to crack on the jews? Because of the holocaust? There have been bigger genocides in the world than the jews, but all of a sudden they get the "free pass" here? We nearly wiped out the Native Americans but they don't get that type of respect. I guess it's different when it's "Jesus's people". (which i don't believe in god to begin with) |
