Re: 2011 NFL Free Agency Thread
ive heard that S. holmes will be in the burgandy and gold this season. Dont know about the Rice signing, but id rather have rice than holmes, cheaper and younger................but it appears that the interest we are showing in holmes is far from a smokescreen. Also rumors say mcnabb could be going to cincy for a 5th round pick.......i would cringe if that is all we could get
I definitely dont have what one would call inside information, just a friend........ |
Re: 2011 NFL Free Agency Thread
So much for that whole having a link to back up a rumor thing. It was a nice idea while it lasted.
Where are most of you guys hearing this stuff? Twitter? PFT? |
Re: 2011 NFL Free Agency Thread
McNabb to Cincinnati for a 5th? That'd be interesting. Does your friend have inside info? Am I your friend and I don't know it?
|
Re: 2011 NFL Free Agency Thread
If we get anything for McNabb that's a win. A 5th rounder? Hell I'd take that and run.
|
Re: 2011 NFL Free Agency Thread
This may sound crazy but if you get a couple stud receivers and upgrade the line maybe worth sticking it out with DM5 but maybe him and the Shanny's are to far gone for that to happen.
|
Re: 2011 NFL Free Agency Thread
DM is gone... they aren't going to pay him that giant bonus he's due right before the season starts and I believe the ship with him and KS sailed long ago.

Re: 2011 NFL Free Agency Thread
My friend has worked at Athlon sports and helps them out with their website. He knows some people, and me and him used to be in the military together back in 2001 when we were both at Ft. Carson. Not that he is a rock solid source, but he hears things........its where i found out the lions are going to sign jonathan joseph and the 49ers are definitely in the mix for Nnamdi Asamough.

Re: 2011 NFL Free Agency Thread
The niners need to worry about that bad offense of theirs and a QB
|
Re: 2011 NFL Free Agency Thread
Ravens DT Kelly Gregg also cut

Exactly. Not sure what the hell he's talking about in reference to being disappointed. I'd jump up and down for joy. |

that is so last night news. =) |
Re: 2011 NFL Free Agency Thread
On a funny side note once again the NFL steals some MLB thunder. It is all NFL this week and the MLB trade line has to take a back seat to it. Bud must be fuming.

They're re-signing Alex Smith, rumor is. |
Re: 2011 NFL Free Agency Thread
ehhhh, like Ive heard colin cowherd say a million times, until baseball starts looking out the windshield instead of the rear view mirror, it will continue to struggle. They need a new PR department and some infusion of great talented youth. And they need to cut like 2 or 3 teams.......
|
Re: 2011 NFL Free Agency Thread
What does that have to do with anything?
|
Re: 2011 NFL Free Agency Thread
just commenting on how this signing period is taking the stage while baseballs trade deadline takes a backseat. Shoot, anything the nfl does will take the stage away from mlb.

also, dont count out abreuyu franklin to the skins. |

Sandtrap may have mentioned this, don't recall, but the Cowboys are interested in bringing RW back and bringing in Cromartie
Namdi could get a 4 year $80 million offer from the Texans |

Re: 2011 NFL Free Agency Thread
So Jackson to Minn, I'd assume Hassleback will go to Minn cause they can get him for nothing and he'd be willing to be a stop gap. What does that mean for McNabb? Are we just going to out right cut him and get nothing back? The market was small for him last year and now that he's been de valued it's pretty much nothing.

So Seattle has Jackson and Jesus? And I thought our QB situation was bad. Can't believe they're just going to let Hassleback walk. |
