Of course. But the fact we've heard comment after comment about how strong he looks at least puts to rest the concerns over his relatively lackluster bench press performance at the combine.
Yeah, the bench press doesn't measure how well linemen use leverage or those special techniques. |

Well I bet JJ is taking reps with the first team since Cofield and Bowen are not practicing yet. |

Hopefully he stays on the team this year (active roster, IR, PUP list) and that keeps Royster on the team! |

true, it's now a little bit of a crowded d line. I thought Carriker really showed his ability at the end of the year & why he was a 1st round pick. Now, if JJ is ready, there are 3 DEs that should be starting caliber + Cofield who could play there too. |

dang, they ain't even full pads yet right? He's now hurting his upper body too! I don't have high hopes for ATV for that reason, depending on his health at the end of camp I could see him being cut again. |

Any word on how Kerrigans looked making his conversion to 3-4 LB?

I believe he hasn't been practicing because of a knee injury. |
Any word on how Kerrigans looked making his conversion to 3-4 LB?
Well he's been sidelined due to hyper extending his knee (nothing serious) So he really hasn't gotten the chance to get out there. Although he's getting the mental reps in. Personally I think he's going to be a great player for us and will transition fine to the 3-4. |

Hope he gets back to early season 2010 form, he's one of the players I'm excited about. I think if he's healthy & has his quickness/speed he's worth a roster spot just as a returner. |

Banks is on the bubble right now it appears. I was listening to ESPN980 (one of the few times they weren't talking about McNabb) and I think Chris Russel mentioned something about that there have been issues with Banks like the stabbing incident and "other issues" that may be putting him in the doghouse. I'm sure any injury is not going to help his cause. |

SS has alluded to that all offseason. He's definitely on some thin ice given all the WRs that are fighting for jobs. |

According to a source of mine - he's taking mental steps while his knee heals....I still don't think he has enough speed to play OLB in a 3-4... |

How much speed do you need? He runs in the 4.6 range. |

Wow...would be horrible. It's one of the most-beatable forms of cancers but it's still no picnic. I've known a couple of people with it. Jeremy's reportedly dropped 15 pounds since the end of last season. Football take on it: Vick is not going to have anyone to throw to at this rate. DeSean Jackson is no #1 WR...too small and afraid to go over the middle...injury-prone too (concussions). He wants paid like he's the main guy, but Maclin is clearly their #1 WR. He had 70 receptions to Jackson's 43. A home-run hitter can't carry the team by himself. |

I personally think the 40 is an overrated stat. I mean for the most part the game is played in 10-20 yard increments; sideline to sideline. I think agility, lateral movement, burst off the ball. Those things are just as important, if not moreso, than running the 40 in a straight line. |

Also, I've been following this on Twitter for the last hour from Eagles camp. Not good. Reports said the Eagles stop practiced for a bit and everyone was pretty shaken up by this incident.

Re: Training camp 2011 thread
Boy in between MP having a seizure and Maclin possibly having lymphoma, it's not a good day to be at Eagles camp today. I hope Maclin is alright, not sure what would happen with him if he is diagnosed but hopefully he can beat it and come back to keep playing football.
As for Mike Patterson, a 4 minute seizure? I can only imagine the hell that must've been for him and the players around him. My longest has only been about a minute and for that minute you tend to feel paralyzed since you can't control whatever body parts are involved in the seizure. 4 minutes is an amazingly long time to go through that, and to hear that he's up and alert and joking around is a good sign. |

Completely agree. I mean how often in a given game do players run 40 yards in a straight line? Not very often in the grand scheme of things. Yet the 40 time is one of the key things looked at. |

Agreed. Back when the Ravens drafted Suggs, he fell in the draft b/c his 40 time was considered slow. His comment at the time was something along the lines of "It ain't 40 yard from the line of scrimmage to the QB". |

Suggs is an interesting case. He asked for a do-over after his combine performance. His 40 time was in the 4.6s for the do-over. USATODAY.com - Suggs out to show he has NFL stuff |
Is there any discussion of him moving inside?
Why would you move your other bookend pass rushing lb inside? We drafted Kerrigan to rush the passer. Not exactly an ILB's responsibility in a 3-4. |
